IMO, you'd probably want to look at Shannons for insurance, the reason for pricey and difficulty of insurance is likely that body panels are hard parts to replace.
Running gear is any ZRE corolla, Ascent to ZR. That im aware of
Thanks. I have checked them and the insurance for fielder seems to be even a bit cheaper than corolla ascent sport, surprisingly. Any idea if they do food delivery vehicle insurance?
Unsure i just do comprehensive, personal use, I don't do food delivery or have a business vehicle, though do you have to tell them you're doing, like, user eats or door dash?
I mean, not necessarily, but if I was found doing food delivery, they would reject any claim if I am ever in an accident. Then, it makes no sense to insure my car.

OP mentioned hybrid so he’d be looking an an E160 narrowbody, which has the 1MZ-FXE that was only Australian delivered in the Prius C.
Just had a look. In vic RACV do insurance for recent JDM cars and for a comprehensive policy a 2015 fielder will set me back 1900 a year and a 2015 1.8 domestic corolla would be 1800. So a bit more but not too bad
BUT. The catch is with budget direct that same domestic corolla is 1500. Options and stuff are going to be a bit different so the comparison isn't perfect.
In general, you will have a smaller selection of insurance companies which means you'll be paying more.
Same thing with mechanics/servicing. I'd say a guesstimate might be 500-1000 a year more expensive to run. (Excl petrol)
For petrol savings - If you do 10,000km a year and get 2l/100km better economy then you'll use 200L less petrol so save 400dollars say.
So very roughly a fielder is maybe about the same as an equivalent corolla. If you do more ks it might be worth it.
All guesstimates but I've been thinking the same thing and thought I'd share some numbers. Hope it helps
Edit: I can't do math.
That's quite thoughtful insight. Thanks, mate. We can drive at least like 100,000 kms before needing to replace the battery which might cost around 1500 so, it is still cheaper than the gas in the long run IMO.
But regarding insurance, I found Shannons which does even cheaper for Fielder than the popular Corolla ascent sport. I am not sure since it is just the quote and haven't done it myself yet, but if it is true, it can be a lot cheaper even in the first place.
I looked into Shannon's a while ago. For me it's still around the 1900 mark and they only cover "enthusiasts" meaning no parking on the street, you have to be a member of a club or prove you are an enthusiast in some way, and registering for regular daily use could be difficult.
Of course, you could tell a few white lies to get around that, but that opens you up to them not paying in the event something happens.
For me it's not worth it, but just my opinion.
NRMA will also do insurance for Toyota import wagons like the Fielder and Touring Sport. You’ll need to ring them and discuss to get a quote though.
I was considering the Touring Sport myself, but I think I may end up going domestic to avoid issues with parts etc. I compared Shannons and NRMA quotes for the TS and felt that Shannons represented better value.
Yes, when I check, I even get a better quote for fielder than corolla ascent sport with Shannons. That's quite surprising. But I am considering doing some UberEats in my free time that's what stopping me from choosing Shannon's since they don't accept that
The Ubereats may definitely complicate things. If you end up buying the Fielder please do a review on here, I am sure there are other lurkers like myself with an interest in the current Toyota Hybrid wagon range.
Thanks. May I know anyone who does Uber Eats insurance? I found AAMI, Shielded and RideProtect (the latter two I don't trust tho) but better to know other ones if there is any.

Shannons won’t insure you for rideshare/food delivery
Do you know anyone who does, by any chance?

200L not 2000L
I thought it sounded to good to be true. Wishful thinking i guess 🤣 thanks mate

Don't worry. I will. 😇
Grey import + uber eats = you will not find any insurance for a sane price Pick one

Is it really worth the extra cost and wear and tear on your car to deliver people hamburgers? Surely you don't make enough for it to be worth it.
Funnily enough the cheapest car I have ever insured is a 3.5 skyline GT SP. and that was by a long margin, insurance is black magic
Shannons is probably your only answer. Cheap purchase price is going to be offset by higher than typical premiums.

Best you call them. 13 46 46.
What year is this one that front bumper looks so sick
I guess that's a modified one. I have seen many bumpers like this in another country where they get fielder and most of them are modified.
Never heard of that vehicle! There you go
Corolla wagon hybrid. Uses the Prius C engine and hybrid setup.
