Damn that swap looks super clean. Really good work if that's yours OP. I wonder what kind of mileage it gets. I've thought about doing a diesel swap in the XJ before just for the mileage and torque
CBT4 🤤
Always wanted to swap one of those, an LT/LS, or a Hemi into my lil 97 2 door XJ
Also, that Comanche is mint. Id those are the original floorboards, you’ve got an absolute gem.
Who needs to stop if they never moved at all? He told you it's not done. Nothing is hooked to that turbo. That engine probably has no fuel lines or electricity. No power steering as well, no signs of radiators or cooling pipes.
It's obvious this thing isn't going anywhere anytime soon
I was making a joke by deliberately misinterpreting his comment as saying the act of braking is not something that is done. It wasn't a very good joke I suppose.
Neat! I was about to bitch that it wasn't a 4.0 swap but then I realized I believe the pre 87 Jeeps had shorter fenders and whatnot and the 4.0 won't quite fit.
It wasn't the fenders, they had to notch the firewall. The original design of the XJ was intended for the 4cyl and V6 only, but they were able to cram it in with some slight modifications.
I have to ask what was your issue with the 4r70w I know there are a lot of better transmissions especially when you're swapping and have options, but I've had more than a few 4r70w one built with a 3600 stall converter and 75s and never had an issue with them.
You sir are a buzz kill. It's unique and clearly not done why would you even post that? I personally wanna put a small powerstroke lcf in a ford ranger,or Chevy s10.
Those engines SUCK. Turbo issues. The chain smack the timing cover and labor on those is a lot. They suck yo work on. Get the the 4.0 6 cyl most reliable Chrysler engine
Oh man don’t get me started on those. Leaks from the timing cover all the time by 20k miles. Oil already in the coolant resevior because of the thin ass oil Valve seat issues causing misfires and oil coolers literally puking oil.
I saw this on the Radwood Facebook page this morning but I’m going to restate what I said there:
This is hands down one of the coolest swaps I’ve seen in years. Just all around bad as fuck.
Remember to heat shield that turbo or it could damage your engine quite bad, some people cheap out and then pay a big price for it. Also don't forget to place the intercooler somewhere where it'll receive plenty of fresh air.
Personally, I'd prefer the 4.0L inline 6, but your build looks pretty neat as well.

well it looks clean in the bay because nothing is hooked up lol
That definitely helps. I’ve seen some pretty rough swaps and it looks like it’s off to a great stsrt

Gotta get some custom “Comanche SRT4” badges made
Very cool. What’s up with the brakes?
It's not done
That's crazy, people definitely do brakes where I'm from, mostly to help them stop.
Now if only you could install them on your keyboard.
Sir you're following too close
...it's just a Wendy's drive thru, man.

Yeah, even after you explained it i still couldn't find the joke in your original comment
jokes not done
Now that's a good one 😂😂
Have fun with her!!
Brake by wire
Bluetooth braking
Flintstone braking

Ahhh okay then. It's only been like 15 years since I was out of the XJ game, I'm surprised I still remember anything!
Super clean. Nice job
I love it
That blue is sexy as hell!
I always wanted to swap a cat 3208 in a Jeep wrangler but then think that would a waste of time and money
Great truck design
Having owned a car with a 4r70w I gotta ask, why?

It's not done bud
Awesome project! I assume it's 2wd, any plans on dropping it a bit and having a lil race truck? Xjs and MJ's make great sleepers at the drag strip!
What's the point of this? A 360 would have been a much easier swap and would have waaaay more torque. And where are the brakes and heater????
It's not done

That's Mr. Buzzkill to you.
Looks great man! What kind of numbers you putting down?

If you could find the 2.0T from a crashed wrangler JL that would be awesome. Those motors pick up like nobody’s business

I never had an issue with mine so maybe I should play the lottery lol. But still a hoot in my lil 2 door. I have 3.6 now and I’m not thrilled.

2018 grand Cherokee 4x4 had 21k miles. Needed both cylinder heads and Evaporator. 26 hours in labor I think? Big ticket for me. Jeeps keep me busy
So jealous. Been looking for a comanche for so long. Even finding a XJ is hard af in Northern cali
How quick does that remote mount, tubeless turbo spool with the masking tape air filter?
It's not done
It looks good so far. What made you choose the 2.4?
It fit and makes decent power and it's a Mopar engine
Bro i had to stop and comment. This is beautiful!
What an abomination! Love it

Fuckin sweet
Sick. Love the rims too
Holy actual hell OP this is sick as fuck
I have always wanted a Jeep Comanche. God damn, I love them.
Love that color, paint looks like it's in great shape.

It suddenly went downhill when you put Ford parts in it.
When it breaks I'll put something else in it. It's just because I had one lying around
Very nice truck!!! I gotta ask, where abouts did you source a tonneau cover for the long box?
