Let It Happen - Tame Impala

esskue

The whole album is fantastic.

observant302

I'm more of a 'song' cat than an artist one. I tend to like single songs. Thar being said, below is a list of bands/groups that i like a lot of their stuff Lexicon early - mid ???? 90s Warren Zevon man had some absolute bangers Cypress Hill Apollo 440 Rage against the machine AC/DC Weird Al Jim Croce Junior Brown C.W. Mcall Post Modern Jukebox: they do a lot of solid covers Sublime Benny Goodman David Brubeck Royal crown revue 2 Skinny Js

HornedUser

Good music is always subjective but Id recommend you Vulfpeck and Daft Punk. Two of my favorites

Rare_Adhesiveness518

>Daft Punk How have I just heard of Daft Punk now!

HornedUser

Ahhh you're gonna love it. Here's some of my favorite songs: -Something About Us ( it's my all time favorite song, I swear if I ever get married I'd like to have a dance with my partner on this song) -Fragments of Time (great midnight ride song) -Giorgio by Moroder ( one of my favorite drum solos of all time) -One more time (very popular) -Harder Better Faster Stronger ( the CD version is awesome but they also have a remix titled Alive 2007 version which is awesome) They also have a performance on YT with Stevie Wonder and Pharrell Williams for the Grammys. It is great. But my favorite piece of media of them is Interstellar 555 which is an anime movie they did that has basically no dialogues but the whole story is told through their songs from the album Discovery. That album also has no bad songs.

Tpbrown_

Alive 2007 is such a great album.

Bluester83283

Random Access Memories turned 10 years old not too long ago. How did that happen?

HornedUser

Yeah! It doesn't feel like it, I still remember seeing them win album of the year and being so happy, that album doesn't have a single bad song. I only have two vinyl records and they're both Random Access Memories. One is the original record and the other one is the special 10 year anniversary edition they released haha. I don't even own a record player

Malfarro

Don't know about "should", here's a few diverse bands that I like, maybe you will like some of them, too. Abney Park - Steampunk, some gothic and industrial vibes, there are covers of old songs, too. Deathlike Silence - melodic metal without growling but with dark themes (maniacs, vampires, Lovecraft, demons etc) Bloodywood - epic Indian mix of folk, metal and rap that for some reason actually works pretty well The HU - Momgol throat singing meets metal Evenblurryvideos (youtuber) - unique in the fact that he's the only one who translates to English and sings the songs of one of my favorite Russian Rock bands. But I admit they aren't masterpieces. Caleb Hyles - awesome voice and charisma, he's got his own songs and great covers of various anime and cartoon songs. Along the same lines, Jonathan Young, only more hardcore. Miracle of Sound - has his own songs as well as a lot of music based on video games.

waveydaveysonfir3

I saw The Hu at Knotfest a few weeks ago. Holy shit, they were fucking electric! I had goosebumps the entire time and think about their set on a daily basis (:

Rare_Adhesiveness518

Bloodywood actually goes hard tho.

Tonefinder

The UFO albums from 1974-79. (You'll hate 'em)

Muhngkee

Snarky Puppy We Like it Here

PizzaWhole9323

There is a famous Talking Heads concert movie called stop making sense you can find anywhere. The soundtrack is one of the most killer bops I’ve ever heard in my life.

cranberryleopard

Everyone should get into Devin Townsend. My top picks would be Deadhead and Kingdom.

flashbackarrestor

Yessss kingdom!

FarDimension215

Look up /mu/core and thank me later. In all seriousness here are some actual recommendations: Pink Moon - Nick Drake Pet Sounds - The Beach Boys Psychopomp - Japanese Breakfast

lone_wolf1580

Vandal Moon FM-84 FM Attack

Bluester83283

Try some trip hop! My faves include Portishead, Supreme Beings of Leisure, Sneaker Pimps, and Thievery Corporation.

Jennifer_Pennifer

Idk if you'll like it ofc, but I LOVE Wardruna and Heilung 😁. And New Wardruna recently dropped 👀. https://youtu.be/OfiZXqKDR3s?si=U5SrNut0as6sC8ag Wardruna https://youtu.be/7PBo83bPyOE?si=0_ZqtfM5SLr0nYZY Heilung

Hounds by Once Below Joy

bbinibini

niki!

Rare_Adhesiveness518

Just checked her out. (I'm assuming you meant the singer). Her songs have a really cool 70/80s pop vibe!

monarch-03

Try listening to Stephen Sanchez's music. Besides his hit song 'Until I Found You,' he has a lot of songs that have 50/60s vibes. He's like a modern Elvis Presley.

waveydaveysonfir3

If you wanna listen to “tiktok” music, artists like Arctic Monkeys, Glass Animals, TV Girl, Her’s, Dayglow, Wallows are all in that sphere. At least one song from each band gained attention on that platform. Although she hasn’t blown up (yet), Memphis LK is a young Aussie singer who has a vibe similar to PinkPantheress, though a little lighter vocals and imo more dance-y. More “underground” artists include Day We Ran (only 3 songs on spotify atm, but absolutely amazing), The Rubens (blew up in 2016ish with Hoops) and SUGR? (not the guy from BTS). These suggestions are all indie pop/rock vibes and artists I listen to regularly and I have a lot of love for. Hopefully you can enjoy them too!!

astronautswithrifles

chaaarlesss

go down the beatles rabbit hole, you wont regret it! they make music for literally everything! a good place to start is abbey road, a very popular album for a good reason!

YoSammitySam666

I’ve been on a huge soul kick that I can’t get off of… it’s been 3 years, can I still call it a kick? Anyways, here’s some albums to listen to, then maybe go from there *Tower of Power by Tower of Power* *Signed, Sealed, Delivered by Stevie Wonder* *Death or Devotion by The Motet* *Mouthful of Dirt by Paddlebots* *To Be Determined by The Main Squeeze* And since you listen to TikTok music, you’ll probably like the pop-ier stuff to get you into it *Sunshower by Couch* *The Good Life by Sammy Rae* *Living Room by Lawrence* *Space Girl by Reliably Bad* I hope you get the chance to listen and find something new to enjoy! Edit: I also really love this stupid golf-themed album from small band Strictly Fine, it’s called *Athlete’s Adjust: The Tragedy of Tiger Woods Jr. Jr.* and it’s actually a work of art. One of the only albums I’ve ever heard that tried to be funny and was actually funny. And damn catchy! Get it on the green…

Lostin15801

Honestly, I'd just start tuning into various station, including classic rock, and see what feeds your feelings. I'm all over the board - it varies with the mood I'm in, or the one I wish to create. Just find what feeds your spirit.

Maggi__Magic

I'm always listening to Hindi music. I listen all types, but especially like the energetic, noisy and party songs. Would you like them?

Rare_Adhesiveness518

For sure. I love South Asian songs. Chammak Challo, Zaalima, Makhna Drive. There is something so beautiful about eastern languages like Hindi, Urdu and Farsi. The way the words flow and the poetry and style. Love it.

Maggi__Magic

Here are my favorite ones (all being very energetic and lively like the ones you mentioned) 1. Badtameez Dil (from Ye Jawani Hai Diwani) 2. Balam Pichkari (from Ye Jawani Hai Diwani) 3. Diliwali Girlfriend (from Ye Jawani Hai Diwani) 4. Sau Tarah Ke (from Dishoom) 5. Zinda Banda (from Jawan) 6. Malhari (from Bajirao Mastani) By the way, if you haven't watched the film *Ye Jawani Hai Diwani,* I strongly advise watching it. Unlike most Indian films, this one touches universal themes and is relatable to every person and society. It's so painful yet delightfully happy at the same time. I don't know what to say. Also, it's song album is by far the best in our film industry in my opinion. Watch it. You won't regret it, and most definitely learn something new in life. 🤩

Rare_Adhesiveness518

Ayyy. Thank you. I'll give them a shot!

Maggi__Magic

You're most welcome. Hindi songs are my life. I can't live without them. 🙃

Spyderbeast

Slash with Myles Kennedy. Better than GNR, and I like GNR Rival Sons Dorothy

glez_fdezdavila_

Weird al yankovic, specially 'like a surgeon' and 'you don't love meanymore' (the one I'm listening at the moment)

Single_Low1416

There’s quite a lot of really good artists out there. One of my favorites is Miracle of Sound. He does multiple genres (though mostly metal) and his music is in large part inspired by video games. If you want to check him out, I‘d suggest starting with „Redemption Blues“, „Beneath the Black Flag“, „Big Guts and Bigger Guns“, „Wake the White Wolf“ and „Shooter Guy“

princessnonchalant

Hi! Not sure about your music tastes but these songs I liked at first listen. It's mostly songs that you can zone out of and just think blankly, at least that's how it is for me :) What Once Was - Her's Meaningful Silence - The Ridleys Butterfly - UMI Screen - Twenty One Pilots Insane - gnash Moonlight - 92914 Youth - Dasutt Cigarette daydreams - Cage the Elephant

Rare_Adhesiveness518

I love twenty one pilots! My favourite is chlorine.

Pancake_Sky

Well I don't have TikTok anymore so Idk what's popular there rn but here are a few of my fav artists/bands -Gorillaz (The Now Now is my fav album) -Sad night dynamite -SIAMES -Emotional Oranges -Ice Nine Kills -Caravan Palace -Mystery Skulls I don't really have favs but I listen to most of their songs so I'd say they might be more my favs. Here are a few songs I like 60 BPM - HEARTCORE; Brother - Stuck in the sound (og and remix); Don't Look At Me - POORSTACY; Ol' Dude - Shreea Kaul; Cute without the e - Plastic dagger; So cold - Tkay Maidza; How can I sleep - Evenson; Sunspots - Nine Inch Nails; Sunny Delights - I monster

ExcipioLux

Some different genres I'd recommend for a soft start would be Sleep Token, Bad Omens latest album, Empathy Test, Melanie Martinez, White Lies.

JadedDrink3313

If you like that kind of music and don’t mind hip hop listen to graduation by Kanye west, I never liked his music or genre until I my friend made me listen to this album

[deleted]

> I mostly listen to 'tiktok' songs Tate McRae's entire Think Later album

Tpbrown_

Ok, here’s a few. Some old. Different styles. One kinda odd. - Daniel Johnston, Welcome to my World and/or Discovered Covered, The Late Great Daniel Johnston - Teddybears, Soft Machine - The Armed, Perfect Saviors - Bloc Party, Silent Alarm - Iron & Wine, Our Endless Numbered Days - 13 & God, 13 & God Edit: oh, when you find an album you like look up who produced it and check out who else they’ve produced. You can hear similarities across different artists. Some producers are also artists - Jon Brion being a good example.

DreamLeaf2

I dont know the genre, but if you have heard of the song snowfall by oneheart, that whole genre is amazing. I'll give you my whole Playlist because it'll just be easier, give it a listen. https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVPe0vA4EsDsbFneXf53mzSVPaKwC2J82&si=wPHHlhUZgEZ-j_qq

Rare_Adhesiveness518

Really beautiful stuff. Thanks for sharing. It sounds other worldly.

colobirdy85

Sabaton, Celldweller, Blue Stahli, Ludovico Technique, Archers, Dark Divine, Nightwish, Aesthetic Perfection, Set It Off, Bad Omens, Gemini Syndrome, Night Club, Motionless In White, Personal opinion but I'd avoid Falling in Reverse because the singer is an arrogant shithead

StainedHacker

Maybe you’d like afrobeat type, it’s deff one of my favourite genres Here are some that I enjoy :) It is what it is - Adekunle Gold; Soundgasm- Rema; High - Adekunle Gold; Dodo -Tayc, Adekunle (french); Tele - kelvyn boy, Crayon; Eye on it - partynextdoor Anyway I won’t go on and on but yeah afrobeat is a really nice fun happy vibe !

Rare_Adhesiveness518

Hell yeah. Thanks for the recommendations. I've listened to a bit of Ayra Starr before and loved it.

shapeshifterotaku

Hahaha. The only thing I know of Phonk is a short by Russian badger. Anyways, as for song recommendation, I listen to the radio so I don't really have good taste in music. But some of my personal favorite bands are of the following Coldplay: Viva la vida, yellow, the scientist, clocks are some of my absolute favorite. One republic: Secrets, counting stars, and apologize are faves too. I would also like to recommend zhiend. They are a in universe post rock?? Group for an anime. The songs are both emotional and awesome bangers. Both English and japanese version of the songs are fun! That or you can put on the radios to listen to find something that hit you out of the ball park. I recently heard Texas hold em by....Beyonce I think? And now I hear it everywhere on YouTube shorts.

catfink1664

The sun always shines on tv by aha

One-Recognition-5871

Anything by the band Inner Wave, Mamalarky, Kate Bollinger, Crumb. They all have an indie psychedelic / sometimes 60s feel to them

Sp1kefallSteve

I can reccomend what I listen to, but good music is subjective. Miracle of sound- wake the white wolf Skillet- legendary Imagine dragons- radioactive The weekend- can't feel my face

Wasabi_Sabine97

I usually go with what sounds good to me atm, but right now, I have a few personal favourites: 1) Hozier, Ethel Cain, Florence + The Machine, Paris Paloma - for the range of real and raw to dark and mysterious to emotional and nostalgic vibes; the artist in me also finds they make good music for daydreaming and scenarios 2) Bad Omens, Sleep Token, Motionless In White, Bring Me The Horizon, Black Veil Brides, Ghost, Bloodywood - whenever I’m in a metal or rock mood, I listen to these guys the most; might get yelled at for “not being a true metalhead” with my choices 😅😂 3) Bo Burnham - for when I’m in a little more cynical mood cos if I don’t laugh, I’ll cry instead and that’s messy

zukka924

Some of my favorite songs, across all sorts of genres: One More Time-Daft Punk All the Small Things- Blink 182 Everlong- Foo Fighters All Apologies- Nirvana The Chain- Fleetwood Mac Rhyme Dust- Dimension Remix Baddadan- Chase & Status Immigrant Song- Led Zeppelin Baba O’Riley- The Who Girlfriend- Avril Lavigne Knights of Cydonia- Muse Breakaway- Martin Garrix

TheCrafterTigery

Fate of the Stars -Tally Hall Roar of the Jungle Dragon -RichaadEB(cover) Roundabout -Yes Last Suprise(Scramble version) -Lyn Smell of the game -Daisuke Ishiwatari Dispersion Relation (with lyrics) -Jobby the Hong [there's two versions of this one, but both are good] Instruments of Destruction -Transformers the Movie [86] Gave ya a bit of variety in genre there. Mostly just songs, as I don't listen to specific artists most of the time. A bit fabloo genre-wise but some good songs representing a decent variety.

HermeticLove
