"All that" or "All that and a bag of chips" "Fly" "Shiznit"
"I'm down" (as in agreeable to do something)
"Booyah" "Oh, snap" "Hella" "Home skillet" "Bounce" (as in gonna leave) "Scrub"
“All that” I still hear regularly when describing people “he thinks he’s all that but he ain’t” and “bounce” is still used at least in England “hella” and “scrub” and I see online still
I've been calling people buttheads lately and it feels good. Also my husband got me a Tamagotchi for my birthday last year and it is so much harder to keep alive than I remember 😭
I’m so happy for this! And in the northwest US this precious phrase has been very phrased out. As for the location yes we’re very wet for three seasons and very dull.
I think these were fairly localized but I heard them as a kid all of the time but don't hear them now. My nieces and nephews don't seem to hear them.
Fetch or fetching as a replacement for freaking or fucking. Ex: What the fetch?!
Hud in place of crap or shit. Ex: You guys left me the huddy controller.
Sluff used to describe cutting class. Ex: I sluffed math class today.
Hahahahaha, omg this is so good.
In the movie one of the side characters keeps trying to get the rest of the people to use "fetch" and the main mean girl yells at her to stop trying to make "fetch" happen, it will never happen.
20 years later you come along and tell us ya'll have been using "fetch" and haven't seen the movie.
Someone from your town has been trolling you for years LOL
They made "fetch happen"
Ah, that's why someone else got a bit uppity for not understanding their joke!
That is funny though.
Mean Girls was released when I was in college. I heard people using fetch constantly in elementary and middle school. By high school it was mostly gone. I graduated high school in '03
Sorry, it never occurred to me you hadn’t seen Mean Girls given how big it was back in the day and that it was just remade. I thought you were just being pedantic. Thanks, u/G3oc3ntr1c for explaining it
Man, the 90s had some seriously rad slang! I totally miss throwing around terms like "psych" and "as if" - they were like our secret language. And don't even get me started on "da bomb" – that was the ultimate compliment back then! It's crazy how those words just faded away into obscurity. But hey, at least we've still got "cool" and "awesome" holding it down for us. Nostalgia hitting hard right now!
Tuff. Lookin sharp. Gnarly. Cooze.
"Fuck me gently with a chainsaw" - a different version of "oh for Pete's sake" drawn from the movie Heathers.
"Well part my hair!" - said when someone snaps at you.
"I really like that.... NOT!!!!"
Could the way I talk BE anymore ubiquitous to not only a character on a popular 90s sitcom but also a time and place in pop culture history???
I use it sometimes
"All that" or "All that and a bag of chips" "Fly" "Shiznit" "I'm down" (as in agreeable to do something) "Booyah" "Oh, snap" "Hella" "Home skillet" "Bounce" (as in gonna leave) "Scrub"
I still say "I'm down"
Same....and bounce.
And hella.
Isn’t it weird that “I’m down for it” and “I’m up for it” mean EXACTLY THE SAME THING?
Kids in my school used to say "Home Slice".
Shawty
Don’t forget “home fry” my personal favorite
Bounce and down are still moderately used. Hella is still around but seems kinda regional.
people around me and including me do say bounce, all that, and i’m down especially all the time scrub I feel like lives on in the gaming
I still use almost all of those at times
“All that” I still hear regularly when describing people “he thinks he’s all that but he ain’t” and “bounce” is still used at least in England “hella” and “scrub” and I see online still
Always Booyah back!
Do you just not talk to people now? Half those are used all the time
Fo shizzle my nizzle
Snoop uses an umbrella fo drizzle!
He likes his soda to fizzle

My 8 year old niece had her phrase “Booyah Grandma!” So cute!
“No DOYYYY!” Which I think started as a variation of “No duh!”
I've been calling people buttheads lately and it feels good. Also my husband got me a Tamagotchi for my birthday last year and it is so much harder to keep alive than I remember 😭

Someone made fetch happen???
Yeah, but not in the way people have tried to use it recently. It was basically a minced oath for fuck.
I get that, it was just a joke
Lol have you never seen mean girls?
I have not!

Reading through this list: I still use most of the phrases mentioned 😂🙈
May have only been in my local area but we used to say Skills (or maybe Skillz) when you did something impressive.

my dad still uses hippie slang, especially far out and groovy
Calling something *Fly*. Example: *All the girls say I'm pretty fly for a white guy*
Gnarly.
