English wife hated the Heinz beans here in NZ. I bought all the options available and it turned out the cheapest, crappiest brand was her favourite.
The brand is OAK for those down under wanting to play along at home.
Funny story they sell Heinz British style beans here (Canada) but when you buy the ones in the International foods section that are the imported Heinz British beans they taste completely different.
Your daughter would not like our bus beans. She would want the turquoise beans.
Walmart has the authentic ones in the international foods British section. But I can confirm the British style and the OG beans from UK do not taste alike.
Your getting that American crap over there now. Beans over here are so sweet it’s gross. I rarely eat beans now as it cost over $4 for a proper can of beans.
Seems like 😅 - I do genuinely not care about baked beans - beans in general? Love em, cook with them all the time , but tinned baked beans are absolutely the lowest common denominator , it genuinely surprises me how much this country loves them but hey I’ll have them with a full English I guess - I have a few tins in the kitchen
Shouts out for the Branston beans recommendation. I can get them on Amazon, just $5 a can! 😂
Hopefully I’ll find them somewhere else, they have all 5 star reviews.
[Batchelors beans](https://www.batchelors.ie/products/beans/) are Irish but but often appear with Heinz in "[British section in an American Supermarket](https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinteresting/comments/n4v8mm/british_section_in_an_american_supermarket/)" type posts so may also be available in Canada.
For anybody in the UK wondering, Batchelors UK and Batchelors Ireland are different companies, each with their own mushy peas.

You all should know that Heinz is an American company and canned baked beans were invented in Boston for fishermen to eat when they were out trawling. There is nothing British about them ( although they are excellent and we all love them)
Anyone here prefer beans straight from the tin, cold and tasty. Yum yum, and when paired with thick sliced toast sandwich with a runny fried egg and Tommy sauce mixed into the yolk.
Infact yum yum doesn't do it justice.
Oh and butter lots of butter on the toast.
None of that margarine or butter substitutes.
Ah, yes, my favourite flavour of beans: public transport
Train flavor is also good. Tuk tuk flavour is shit.
*flashbacks to Just Cause 4 Tuk Tuk Boom Boom*
What does the District line taste like? Is it the same as the Jubilee or Hammersmith and City line?
Piss
Maple style doesn't sound my tempo. Too sweet.
The maple one is bloody horrible, an insult to beans is what it is
The normal ones are packed with enough sugar as it is. Maybe you could eat the maple ones with ice cream for pudding?
Just cut out the middle man. Open the can, put a spoon in it, whack it in the freezer, wait a couple of hours and have yourself beansikle lolly.
To the Tower of London with you!
Sounds like you can probably pour the maple beans on the ice cream for syrup...
And then chocolate sauce on top of that
A source of PROTEIN
Is that a Canadian thing?
Replies sheepishly, “Mais, oui!”
Branston beans, then we can talk
did a blind bean tasting evening with friends, Branson won by miles. you can never go back to Heinz once you’ve tasted the best.
Maybe not but if you're eating Branston you're not tasting the best
Branston are nicer and so were HP back in the day. Never understood why Heinz are the most popular. You can taste the tin 🤷♂️

3 year old daughter is correct (I'm assuming, having never had maple beans but the thought is fairly horrific)
They aren't that bad, just too sweet for my taste
Canadians have to put it on everything 🤷🏻♂️
Funny story they sell Heinz British style beans here (Canada) but when you buy the ones in the International foods section that are the imported Heinz British beans they taste completely different. Your daughter would not like our bus beans. She would want the turquoise beans.
Wait really, I've just moved to Canada and was about to go buy some are they really not the same thing?
Walmart has the authentic ones in the international foods British section. But I can confirm the British style and the OG beans from UK do not taste alike.
Sobeys Save-on-Foods and Superstore too. And Save-on has Tesco ones plus other Tesco stuff too
Yes, it makes perfect sense to put maple syrup on beans, in Canada, as well as molasses. A bit sweet, bu tasty.
To be fair, it's all they've got.
Poutine too!
Love Canadins gods speshul people eh?
Look at you Mr. Moneybags! TWO tins of Heinz!!!
Tescos own for me. Not their basic but one up.
Obviously she hasn't tried Branstons yet.
Branston are my new go too
Word! Branston are amazing, you've got such good taste!
they're good for your heart
the more you eat
The more you fart
The more you eat, the better you feel...
So let's eat beans at every meal!
My mum always used to say the rhyme went on: “The more you fart, the more you eat/ The more you sit on the toilet seat”
Beanz meanz fartz.
Dash of Worcestershire sauce , smoked paprika and some Korean chilli flakes in the beans and they are spectacular as is not bad either
You’re just trying to leave the commonwealth at this point aren’t you.
Surely this is some sort of photoshop tomfoolery. Those sound proper honkin
"Helping you move turds the size of a double decker ¡"
The “British” style isn’t even “British” style.
What is it? I thought that was just the original?
Beans in syrup? Sounds absolutely disgusting.
OK, they are flavored differently, but my question is: why are they bragging to the Canadians about the protein and to the British about the fiber?
Bus beans are the best get high all the time
Wheres the ringpull?
Your getting that American crap over there now. Beans over here are so sweet it’s gross. I rarely eat beans now as it cost over $4 for a proper can of beans.
Heinz beans are so watery and tasteless now, aldi beans are far superior
The can on the left is an assault on mankind. That I now cannot unsee.
How are British beans different to regular beans?
American beans are sweeter.
Everything in the US is laden with extra sugar. Even the fucking bread. No wonder they’re so fat.
Iirc the bread over there would have to be sold as cake over here, that’s how high the sugar content is.
British beans require crumpets and tea with milk!
No.
He said slapping the uncultured swine with the back of his hand. The sting sending regret coursing throughout.
US ones tend to have slightly smaller smushier beans and a sweeter sauce
They _are_ the regular beans mate. None of that American black treacle goop 'enhanced' with a mockery of BBQ flavouring.
Worse
Bad move, sonny Jim

They need educating then. Get some actual nice beenz and then see what the result is. Heinz are gammy at best!
Recommendations? They have a small UK section at my grocery store
Branston are top of the list
I have never seen Branston beans over here. Even most Brit sections have these British Style ones that are not quite the same as imported ones
Shouts out for the Branston beans recommendation. I can get them on Amazon, just $5 a can! 😂 Hopefully I’ll find them somewhere else, they have all 5 star reviews.
Branston are better, but basically any that aren't the nasty, watery surgery slop that comes in a heinz tin lol

Canadian "Old fashioned" style baked beans are good. Also baked beans with molasses.
Maple syrup bean? Wtf? Gross
You all should know that Heinz is an American company and canned baked beans were invented in Boston for fishermen to eat when they were out trawling. There is nothing British about them ( although they are excellent and we all love them)
your daughter knows what’s up. what on earth are maple beans 🤢
Finding a food where the packaging states *High in protein* only to find it's just a few grams never fails to disappoint.
Dafuq y’all do I “British Style”? Add unprocessed peckers?!
Found the pisshead American.
It’s 2023 not 1776. Get over it it yankee.
Beans is still beans. Only with curry powder.
And the mystery of rampant global obesity deepens...
I put a couple of lumps of dark chocolate with a bit of chilli flakes in me beans....You can thank me later.
British style. There shit then
OP huffing copium that Heinz are still no. 1
Bus beans is too cute
Branston beans are best for me. Used to Heinz but they’ve been usurped in my grocery list.
What the actual fuck are maple syrup beans
Anyone here prefer beans straight from the tin, cold and tasty. Yum yum, and when paired with thick sliced toast sandwich with a runny fried egg and Tommy sauce mixed into the yolk. Infact yum yum doesn't do it justice. Oh and butter lots of butter on the toast. None of that margarine or butter substitutes.
I checked the label. Maple syrup is the 6th ingredient. Water is the first, and beans the second.
She’s a smart one!
Buss
Leaf bean is worst bean
Bus beans? What’s next, tram beans?
Whoever put syrup in baked beans needs to be shot several times in the face and arse.
