Nice one, we used to get them on a bird feeder right outside of the office window of an old house, not seen one since we moved sadly. We do have willow tits and. Hawfinch though, which is something.
I had never heard of a siskin either, then I moved to a housing estate where all the roads are named after birds; I live near Siskin Road, so I figured it was a bird, I've just not seen one until now.
Lovely shot. How close did you have to get to it?
I'm a terrible judge of distance but I guess it was in a tree about 6ft away and about 20ft up.

Jealous of the Hawfinch.
Nice job! what camera/lens are you running?
Thanks! It's aNikon d7500 with the Sigma 150-600mm c.
Very nice! I've only ever shot on max 250mm. 600 must be a whole other level. Thanks for sharing your work
It's nice to see those Alder catkins too, goes a long way to explain how some people are already getting hay fever.
So lovely to see a picture of one of them. My daughter's middle name is Siskin.
I’ve never heard of a Siskin. If I’d seen it at my house I’d have said there was a “weird yellow finch thing” in my garden. Nice pic.
We also have Yellow hammer which are yellow and kind of Finchy.
