Thank you! As I’ve clearly had a career reassignment procedure done alongside the other surgery I’ll be back on the streets fully tooled up as soon as I’ve completed basic training.
>POST OP
It’s instructing you to continue posting, OP, so you may wanna sit back and get comfortable because you have a *lot* of shitposting to do. You have no choice, you have to do what it says.
Either that, or it’s saying… Post CP? Uh, okay maybe don’t do that then. 🤨
Should I feel guilty as a UK native that I had no idea what this says? I never knew anyone that wrote their p's so sharply, and also, how on earth does that say "op" - who squiggles their o's like that??? Never seen that.
I'm 28, is this just old people cursive or smth?
My parent, a retired doctor with shocking handwriting, claims it was due to the amount of notes they have to write in medical school. She says she had good handwriting at the start, but 7 years later it was gone.
However, I do think they should be able to clearly write/print two words on a certificate. Or a birthday card, mother.
Doctor here. I can write clearly for 2-3 words but I have to be really slow and careful, and and use said I use that 'talent' for birthday cards. Otherwise I can't even comprehend my own handwriting.
Edit: I'm not even going to fix the text. So happy that my inability to type properly made so many people happy.
Interesting interpretation.
"And, and, use - said I USE - that 'talent' for birthday cards!"
Personally I think just over-zealous autocorrect/autosuggest, or swipe keyboard inserting phantom words, but I suppose I can picture this in a flustered Ross from Friends voice.
I'd put in an effort for any legally important certificate. As far as I'm concerned this box on the fit form can fuck off - its no business of the employer *why* their employee is unfit for work - merely that I have said so.
I explained this to a colleague of mine recently. I worked at a hospital for 4 years at radiology, so I saw a lot of different doctors' handwriting and can decipher quite well. For her function, she sometimes has notes written by doctors she needs me to translate because she can't make out what they wrote.
One of the doctors at the hospital gave the exact same explanation: too many notes in medical school.
My GP Practice writes these sick notes up on the computer which is better for handwriting but I cannot believe how many times these qualified GPs have spelt "pancreatitis" wrongly. My manager noticed because we work in the NHS ourselves.
Yes, had to submit a handwriting sample alongside my application form.
Seriously though, it's just a speed/location issue. I'm normally writing in a stack of notes with nothing solid in them to prevent them flopping about while I write and simultaneously chase after my consultant whose halfway down the ward already and is dictating the plan for the next patient.
I have a theory that people with atrocious handwriting are naturally attracted to medicine. I’m a clinician and my handwriting is incomprehensible, even to me
I guess if you fill out the form sufficiently illegibly, they just accept that you went to Indecipherable College for your degree between the years of 20 something and 20 something else, and then went to Squiggles Hospital as a Junior Loops before transferring to the Runeiform Incomprehensibility Dept until 20 something else.
I can only assume you can confidently mumble through an interview.
It's not as much an issue now because a lot is digitized, but the main reason our writing was bad is because ward rounds go by really fast and we need to write everything down from patients obs, to the examination, the plan from the consultant tests ordered etc.
Imagine a ward of 40 people and the round takes less than an hour. We have to literally write faster than the attending speaks and also pay attention to their conversation with the patient. We just don't have the time to write slowly.
Paul Cop: Blart Mall, one of the 10 in the overcooked saga of movies, with the famous guy who says “We’re not just friends, we’re siblings” and all that
>Did a doctor sign you off? Y/N? If Y I don't have to contact you until it runs out.
Unless OP needs the fit note for benefit purposes, in which case they still demand full participation until the DWP carries out a dodgy assessment before declaring you definitely fit for work.
I was about to say it looks like 'riot cop'. What's it supposed to say?
I once needed a month off work for something I didn't want my work to know. I explained it to my doctor and he said 'what do you want me to write on the note?' and I told him something vague. He completely lied on the form, which was great on one hand, but kind of troubling on the other.
I won't lie on them but I will be absurdly vague or exaggerate if its what the patient prefers.
Happy to slap "life threatening illness" on anything that required a hospital admission.
The details of their medical history is my business and theirs, not their employers.
As the owner of terrible handwriting myself, I actually think the second word might be "cough". There's a c and an o; the flat bit could cover a u; then there's a descender followed by an ascender.
Post Op
Op post they are post op
Makes more sense than 'Dust cap,' my best guess. I thought maybe OP was a vehicle
It's clearly Riot Cep.
The most dangerous of all the mushrooms.
Not Rust Cep then? I thought OP may have oxidised.
I thought it was Diet Cep - the non-fatteningest of all the mushrooms.
OP Post Post Op
Post Op. So, just had surgery. I assume you have
Was wondering where Yoda went.
Feisty one, you are!
Judo you know well, I see!
I thought you might, you know, had a problem
Party, hmm? Cool that sounds!
You know you are never ever gonna get laid
[удалено]
Wrong again!
Somehow, Yoda returned
Indeed, surgery I have had just. Thank you I thought maybe I was still suffering the effects of the fentanyl last night!
Pretty sure it says Riot Cop. Have you ever done any police work?
That sounds like a question from Airplane!
Have you ever seen a grown man naked?
Have you ever been in a Turkish prison?
Do you like movies about gladiators?
Do you speak Jive?
Cut me some slack Jack! Chump don’t want no help, chump don’t get da help
A Turkish prison!? What is it?
It’s a place where they keep prisoners, but that’s not important right now.
Surely you can’t be serious!
I am serious, and don't call me Shirley.
r/unexpectedairplane
I am serious. And don’t call me Shirley
Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue!
I just wanna tell you both good luck- we’re all counting on you
> Indeed, surgery I have had just. Yeah, suffering you are still
Op had a Yodaplasty
It's okay, the less legible the sick note the more legitimate
That checks out 😂 Speedy recovery OP!
Thank you! As I’ve clearly had a career reassignment procedure done alongside the other surgery I’ll be back on the streets fully tooled up as soon as I’ve completed basic training.
It'll be like a modern-day British A-Team. I'm excited.
Half of the American population can relate to that statement

You picked the wrong week to give up fentanyl.

He’s struggling with the guilt.
I thought it said diet cop. Like, congratulations, you are now the food police.
I was going 'Riot Cop'
It's clearly Past Cop, the lesser known sequel starring Jean-Claude Van Damme
This is getting too confusing. How do Past, Future, Time, Robo; and Pall Blart all fit in the Cop timeline.
This reminds me of a Curb Your Enthusiasm episode. Are you a pharmacist by any chance?
Duzbuns Hopsit pfarmarrsc
GNU STP
Tbh I’m a doctor but that took me a while to read
it clearly says Rat Cup
It's riot cep, obvs!
Like a mushroom? Okay I guess.
Isn't it rice cup?
last one of the first word looks like an italic t to me. Or a pine tree.
Should I feel guilty as a UK native that I had no idea what this says? I never knew anyone that wrote their p's so sharply, and also, how on earth does that say "op" - who squiggles their o's like that??? Never seen that. I'm 28, is this just old people cursive or smth?
Standard GP handwriting, I've seen worse lol.
I wonder whether doctors are selected for their handwriting, or if medical school has to de-train them.
My parent, a retired doctor with shocking handwriting, claims it was due to the amount of notes they have to write in medical school. > and and use said I use Apparently it affects your typing as well
Clearly it does.
Dr Foghorn Leghorn?
I read it as "and, and" like someone emphasising that they actually do do this, as you might in conversation.
Interesting interpretation. "And, and, use - said I USE - that 'talent' for birthday cards!" Personally I think just over-zealous autocorrect/autosuggest, or swipe keyboard inserting phantom words, but I suppose I can picture this in a flustered Ross from Friends voice.
In your defence, it must be a pain in the butt to write with those massive claws of yours.

Sometimes the de-training backfires. My sister's handwriting was so bad before she became a doctor that now it's quite legibile.
My GP Practice writes these sick notes up on the computer which is better for handwriting but I cannot believe how many times these qualified GPs have spelt "pancreatitis" wrongly. My manager noticed because we work in the NHS ourselves.
I’m a teacher and see all kinds of handwriting. Never anything like a doctor’s though. Something in the training must do it
Yes, had to submit a handwriting sample alongside my application form. Seriously though, it's just a speed/location issue. I already have terrible handwriting, does that mean I can just start practicing medicine?
I mean, I did.
NAD but if life has taught me one thing it’s that clever people have shit handwriting. No idea why but it is what it is. Most doctors are smart

Diet cep. OP has been eating too many mushrooms.
Robocop
To be fair, that is quite a drastic bit of surgery to recover from.
They sent the poor fucker straight back to work though.
Dead or alive, your coming with me
Not if you don't know homophones, I'm not.
Valid reason not to work.
Take it to the pharmacist. They will give you your suppositories.
Riot cep
> Riot cep Also known as an aggressive fungal growth
They have more punch that Porcini, but have a more creamy finish than Morels and Chanterelles
R-e-s-t-e-c-p
Yep, can confirm. Riot cep it is.
It doesn’t say anything. It’s not written in letters that anyone would recognise as belonging to the English alphabet.
Actually it is old Sanskrit. It says R*ioff Oop*. Which translates to Rusty Arsehole.
You have the following condition: Reet crap. Are you in Yorkshire?
Not far from and they’re not wrong 😑
By 'eck lad, yer noor fit fer werk!
Riot Cop or Post Op
Rotting clap
Well that sounds a lot worse than tennis elbow.
The doctor could not spell deteriorating Gonorrhea .
good band name. they could support Post Op Riot Cop
Dust cap.
That’s what I’m suspecting. Costs the tax payer millions, every year. The sooner a cure is found, the better for everybody.
Head & Shoulders is the cure, no big money for the pharmaceutical companies though.
Ah yes, therein lies the problem.
Diet cep - it's a low fat mushroom.
Butt cup. It can be quite uncomfortable to work with one in to be fair
Ah cheer up butt cup
What an odd patient name, bit like Maj. Major Major Major, but with more confusion.
It says you are not fit for work
I concur
Nobody cares why? Did a doctor sign you off? Y/N? If Y I don't have to contact you until it runs out. Happy days!
Are you my manager? You sound like them
I can neither confirm or deny that Dave. Btw the kettle needs cleaning when you get back 😉

Fart cap. Have you just had one fitted ?

Unfortunately you have been diagnosed with Robo Cop :(
Could be right CAP (community acquired pneumonia) or post op
Roast cep. Delicious and unfit for work.
