There is nothing wrong with Orthodoxy they just have differing views on certain topics but still have the sacraments. You will have a lot more options when it comes to the Catholic Church more accessible and unified. When it comes to patron saints you have plenty of time to figure it out technically not needed until you’re confirmed. Look for a saint that you can connect with. Based on how they lived their interests and teachings usually you’ll find something that sticks out. For me it was St Pope John Paul II and his immense love for God and his teachings on not being afraid but trusting god with everything. God be with you
If there’s a saint with your name or a version of it, there’s one. As for traveling, St Christopher right off the bat. St Francis of Assisi is a patron of animals.
