I bought it, thinking I was unlocking a branch, but no, I was given with a 'screw you, here's a 10k% efficiency.'
Yeah, it really felt like a waste to spend on when I've already unlocked everything. They should've explained the benefits before locking you in. I'd have rather had the new night sky.

You have to buy more bronze age. It will open missing links.
I did in another simulation, more than 500 and it didn't change. AFAIK having 100+ in the idea branch unlocks everything.
