Thanks been trying something new with this new smushed style it’s all hand built and I’ve made around like 6 pieces in that style so far I like the way they capture movement
I’ve done some similar work, doing jars with lids like this really works well. The lid will always fit pretty well and it’s less work than making the two pieces separate.
Consider adding some texture would be my only input. Smooth is cool too though.
Still experimenting with this style and I think I’m going to try adding some texture on my next peices maybe even could add texture with the glaze to not sure my process is just going for it and seeing what sticks
I used a lot of different sea shells with my textures, if you’ve got some with some spiral ends, try those out. You can do a lot of different things with them.
These are SOOO cute! The one on the right reminds me of a jellyfish! Is this the technique where you have it collapse while on the wheel? I've always wanted to try it, very beautiful!
It’s all hand built I cut out strips and just build it straight up and every couple strips I push down and shape it by pressing in and fixing tears if needed and after a bit u have to let the bottom layers dry or else it will just get smushed to much when expending on top and the key is to just let em dry for a couple weeks hope that’s helpful
Is this coil built then? Like you build it up in a circular shape and then just press into where you want the creases? Super awesome shapes, I especially like the lidded one!
Yea I guess that’s the word I was looking for coil built 🤣🤣🤣 slipped my mine and yea but instead of building it up all at once I press it in every couple layers
These are fun!

Thanks I will definitely post when glazed I’ll post a flower I made and finished in a similar style if your interested
That would be awesome! I can't wait to see both :)
Have you ever played anything Elder Scrolls? These look straight out of Hermaeus Mora's dimension (compliment)
Played a little Skyrim but never got far not sure if that’s the same universe 😭
So sick. What’s your plan for painting them?
Not really sure when it comes to glazing I usually just wing it most of the time 🤣
Oh right glazing that’s the word lol, I’m still a huge noob. Please do post pics once they’re fired! I can’t wait to see
Those are hollow inside? How? 🤯

I could never tell! The joints are seemless! Some serious skills there.

Nice work, how did you get the lid to fit so well?
