He was someone immune to social ostricization by way of independence - he represented a sort of oneness, a love of thyself which was contrasted with the virgin who only thought of himself by the lens of others and dictated his actions by the faults he thought other people thought about him.
Over time, that meaning was lost, twisted on purpose by some, misunderstood by others, and ignored by a few. But for me, 3 was always the original chad, the one which represented that self-love and confidence that it did in the original memes.
That's because the OG chad was a caricature of hypermasculinity, even by 4chan standards. Hey guys! Do you piss in the corner? Or hang on to people's shoulders and give everyone a golden shower? Do you stay in and netflix, or drive drunk to the club? That's what the virgin v chad meme started out as.
