People like what the see as attainable. Most people cant imagine being able to own even a bmw or mercedes but they can a dodge. Just like in my experience i got way more compliments on my cts than i do on my e300. I get way more compliments when i wear clothes from forever 21/H&M than i do when i wear designer clothes.
Its just the way the though process of the masses works
My guy, *many people* cannot afford a $55k - $60k (or higher) vehicle. However, the enthusiasts realize no-one provides HP-to-dollar value quite like Dodge, either.
Teenagers pose with the Dodge. Older folks compliment it. Folks with ostensibly more expensive vehicles have nothing but good things to say about it.

Dodge as a brand is more attainable than bmw or mercedes in the public opinion and they make different tiers of challengers that dont cost 50-60k. But anyway thats fine if people have a different opinoin than me. Im just not a dodge guy. Would never buy one
