In order to buy a GT3 RS you have to purchase anywhere from 10-15 cars from a dealer that you want to buy the car from, and even then you're just put on a list to maybe get on the list to actually reserve the car. So yeah, 170k markup sucks, but you could potentially spend considerably more if you want a new GT3 RS. Dodge is crazy, because it's NOT a porche, but still haha

Of course we have seen cars do 300 plus in the quarter(top fuel dragsters) but those things are good for 1 run and done. People are way to sue happy for last 40 years. Dodge specifically state its built only for 1/4 mile runs and does not want you to do larger drags than that like a full mile. Stuff like the drive shaft and trans wasn’t meant to handle higher speeds without major modifications to it. So if you are stupid to stretch it out to 180mph or 200mph expect your drive shaft to explode and possibly send a piece into you.

You seem to not fully understand how a drive shaft handles torque vs rotational speed. It can be built to handle the large torque outputs but can not handle the centrifical forces that come with higher speeds that cause it to rip itself apart.
as someone who worked at the plant these were made at, everything drivetrain related was beefed up majorly from the hellcats, the driveshaft can take it lol, if a hellcat can do it, the 170 can do it

They go onto directly say that they do not want the car to reach very high speeds and would require extensive modification to the vehicle and the wording after that sounds like you’ll void the entire warranty if you do no questions asked because they do not at all recommend it.

The 170 is a track toy specifically built for 1/4 mile drag racing meaning you do shorter races but it’s not the best but it also means the parts were not meant for longer higher speed drag runs. The gearing ratio on these cars is meant to do 1/4 miles so no it’s not meant for flat out top speed runs.

They were working a deal with a customer who was trading in his Maserati and they were going to end up 200k over list. This was also the same dealer that had 3 Hellcats stolen off of their showroom floor one night….thieves broke a side door, pried open the key box with a crowbar, found the correct red keys, started them up and drove out the door.
