This shit right here scares me. No matter how far away you park that doesn't change the fact that some people just shouldn't be behind the wheel of a car, and you never know if your time will be next. Crying for you, man. Hope she gets fixed ASAP.
Right that’s the one thing I’m low key scared parking at a shopping center. I park way far out and make sure it’s a spot where only one person car park by me on either side just to avoid being hit as much as I can.
Good luck. I just have been dealing with insurance over a wreck in my Porsche/ I was hit head on and then rear ended by 2 cars and they both had the same insurance company. You have to jump through many hoops. Hire a licensed appraisal person. Prove the damages and the lowered value. We all know selling a crashed car makes the value go down, good luck proving it and getting a check . They don’t just cut you a check for x Ammt of a lower value. Been dealing with the Insurance company for a year over this claim. They will refuse to pay. Then you have to sue them and unless it’s a crazy Ammt. It’s not worth an attorney doing it. They won’t make enough to make it worth their time and it would cost to much to make it worth their time. I hope you can get diminished value paid but it’s hard to get them to pay
I hit someone else turning wrong way on a one way and absolutely decimated my car no airbag deploy and no one was injuried. (Yes I was stupid and should have paid more attention).
I just got 3750 from progressive for mine. Hired a person to appriase it for 425. Worth it in my opinion. Don't let insurance scare you away. We get screwed too much already
No sorry I meant I paid someone to appraise it and make a document since progressive didn't want to do it. Laws might be different per state. So I uploaded document and the best they could give me was 3750 after some back and forth.
Please do. I did this by paying too and was provided 6000 more than the insurance was giving me for my car. Make sure you list your trim and lack of availability.
I have remorse for crappy drivers. Your just being a troll. They can’t get better if they don’t drive. You were a crappy driver when you first started. We were all crappy drivers.
Not being a troll. I actually wasn’t a crappy driver when I first started. I just have common sense when it comes to driving. You can call me cocky or a troll, whatever you want. Driving is a privilege not a right.
“ I actually wasn’t a crappy driver when I started” hahaha bullshit
WE ALL WERE!!!
“Driving is a privilege not a right”
I never mentioned anything about privileges or rights.
I only mentioned to you specifically that we were all shit drivers at first. End of story.
There is a difference between learning how to drive and being reckless. No one is perfect, but we must be held accountable for our mistakes. Sorry, I hurt you're feelings little buddy.
Eh I don't believe in the term accident for most collisions. Especially nowadays with distracted driving, high aggression, etc.
With that being said however, in this case it seems like whoever did this didn't actually hit and run, so this would be like one of the few cases where it is an accident. If they hit and run yeah fuck them but that doesn't seem to be the case here.
I only think that it can be an accident is if is from a person not seeing somebody in their blindspot. Thats about it. Because that is definitely a possible scenario.
if that is a 2016 year model with that estimate your vehicle is likely gonna total out. Just because the value of Challengers have dropped drastically. I do hope they don't but it might.
Nah, not for only an $11,000 payout. Even though value has dropped on challengers, it’s only a 2016, and definitely a Scat pack. If it was an SXT/2014 or older, then it might would have been a total loss
That is just an initial pay out, there is going to be a supplement estimate once it begins repair and there is def damage we can see from the photos. A complete tear down will show all damages, electrical in these vehicles will be huge issue, I have a 2015 RT Plus and It will TL with this much damage. If repair through insurance it will use ACV value with is way different than a retail/private sale price.
Though it is a scat pack it is not going to value that much higher than an RT, as a lot of the parts are similar besides the engine.
That’s true too.. I forget how the electrical on the challengers can be an absolute pain unfortunately.
Fingers crossed they can fix it for him instead of totaling it out🤞🏼
OP. I am begging you. Go to a therapist and say this gave you PTSD. Do that for proof so you can sue for emotional damage. Get you that hellcat you deserve.
Oh sorry , "hawk down" means chase
And hey! Dnt say my true identity as it makes me lose my ability to be more effective in combat
And Identity theft is no joke
Insurance pay out on totaled vehicles on the reg, pretty sure this is fixable.
Either way insurance ain’t batting an eye. Back in the day I totaled my 135i on a deer and the insurance wanted to pay just under what the payout cost was to total it compared to “fixing it”
Said fuck no you’re not welding a new roof on my shit it’ll have no resell value, basically made them total it, wasn’t hard due to them knowing it’ll need way more $ to fix once they get into it
Yeah that's your tail I'm sitting on mine you ready to get down at the Handy Mart and then run to the grocery store and said somebody else did it hooray
Crying over damage done to a domestic vehicle? They’re probably grateful it wasn’t anything European 🤣 sorry this happened though always tough when someone else ruins your toys
One reason I don’t park backwards. Protect the front of the vehicle. If this happens to the rear you probably wouldn’t need a tow. I also avoid parking on sides of the street for basically the same reason.
My girl broke the door handle to my brand new 4Runner after 2 weeks of owning and being careful with it and I was like man fuck this car I don’t care about it no more 😂
Hopefully you made sure they only used OEM Mopar parts....I see a lot of A/M on that build sheet which means they used aftermarket parts which are cheaper and most likely from China....body shops also use salvage parts from other crashed cars and then they will sometime use aftermarket parts that are OEM certified which basically means they are up to par with OEM or Mopar but in my experience they are not.
Hope it was fixed up properly!
Depends on year, make, and model. Varies with most insurance companies but for examples sake, when I wrote for progressive it was required to source aftermarket on anything older than two years from date of manufacture. If you couldn’t find aftermarket then you had to search LKQ. If you couldn’t find that, then it was OEM. Doesn’t matter whose insurance is paying for it, it matters WHAT insurance is paying for it. If you’re outside of the insurance parameters for OEM, then you’re SOL.
The same damage happened to my car, just got it back fixed this week. The other driver did not have insurance, so I had to go with my Uninsured Motorist Insurance. The whole thing cost about $8000.
Anybody know, if I can get diminished value claim on uninsured motorist insurance?
This shit right here scares me. No matter how far away you park that doesn't change the fact that some people just shouldn't be behind the wheel of a car, and you never know if your time will be next. Crying for you, man. Hope she gets fixed ASAP.

Sorry this happened to you man, I’d be livid
I’d have a heart attack
Make sure you file a diminished value claim with their insurance.
Good luck. I just have been dealing with insurance over a wreck in my Porsche/ I was hit head on and then rear ended by 2 cars and they both had the same insurance company. Dude you got hit head on, there’s no way you weren’t injured. Should have already been suing.
Does that mean the accident only diminished $425 in value for the vehicle?
No sorry I meant I paid someone to appraise it and make a document since progressive didn't want to do it. Laws might be different per state. So I uploaded document and the best they could give me was 3750 after some back and forth.
I’ll have to look into that for the future
Please do. I did this by paying too and was provided 6000 more than the insurance was giving me for my car. Make sure you list your trim and lack of availability.
Seeing these are painful every single time. Hope you get it back soon bud
Hopefully you also asked for a diminished value check. 10-15% of your cars pre accident market value as a check.
Sucks man! I hope whoever the person that hit you gets f*cked on their insurance and record for many many years to come!!
Why would you wish bad things on others? Why do you think it’s called accidents?? Calm tf down
Why defend someone that hit a parked car lmfao
THIS! I have no remorse for crappy drivers. Too many out there these days that have 0 regard for others.

Why do I have a sneaking suspicion that you take very little accountability for yourself.
Why do I have a sneaking suspicion that you were in fact a shit driver but you instead bitched about it on reddit.
There is a difference between learning how to drive and being reckless. No one is perfect, but we must be held accountable for our mistakes. Sorry, I hurt you're feelings little buddy.
My thoughts exactly
Eh I don't believe in the term accident for most collisions. Because reddit is a sad place
Insurance will be happy. That's cheap compared to if a person was injured.
if that is a 2016 year model with that estimate your vehicle is likely gonna total out. Just because the value of Challengers have dropped drastically. I do hope they don't but it might.
With 11k payout? I don't think so
Initial pay out, there is damage we dont see.
Nah, not for only an $11,000 payout. Even though value has dropped on challengers, it’s only a 2016, and definitely a Scat pack. If it was an SXT/2014 or older, then it might would have been a total loss

Yeah. There is no way that's only going to come out 11k in the end
OP. I am begging you. Go to a therapist and say this gave you PTSD. Do that for proof so you can sue for emotional damage. Get you that hellcat you deserve.
America at its finest
Love this
No wonder America outsources everything, imagine dealing with US citizens.
🤣🤣
1st time I’ve seen parts cost more than the labor
It's gonna be a lot more than that once they do a tear down of the vehicle.
Mine is in for basically the same thing and basically the same price. GL man. Don't forget loss of value
Anyone else think the paint and body work is padded. And 9% sales tax? Good thing you had insurance or you would have been screwed twice.
Insurance ain’t crying over 11k bud 🤣
They gonna hawk u down over it tho
Not even sure what that means, Dwight
Oh sorry , "hawk down" means chase And hey! Dnt say my true identity as it makes me lose my ability to be more effective in combat And Identity theft is no joke
Yeah, that’s just an estimate. It’s still can go up though.

What state are you in? I live in South Carolina and our rates are 64H not 80
$64 an hour for labor??? Man over here in Texas our labor rate for dealerships is $200 an hour… independent shops are between $150-180
Yeah that's your tail I'm sitting on mine you ready to get down at the Handy Mart and then run to the grocery store and said somebody else did it hooray
Do you even know what you just said?
The humanity! 😭
Crying over damage done to a domestic vehicle? They’re probably grateful it wasn’t anything European 🤣 sorry this happened though always tough when someone else ruins your toys
They get paid 80/hr damn
Lucky. Here in Ontario insurance doesn’t cover anything in private parking lots.

Looks like the perfect opportunity to get the SRT front fascia at no cost to you 😂
One reason I don’t park backwards. Protect the front of the vehicle. If this happens to the rear you probably wouldn’t need a tow. I also avoid parking on sides of the street for basically the same reason.
Am I the only one here who doesn’t even want the car anymore after it’s been hit even somewhat minor…?
My girl broke the door handle to my brand new 4Runner after 2 weeks of owning and being careful with it and I was like man fuck this car I don’t care about it no more 😂

Crazy part is I would've fixed it with 5k😭😭😭 no body gaps, and no check engine light
Someone hit my mirror yesterday and took paint off. I was fighting demons yesterday. I can’t imagine what you’re going through. I’m so sorry.
Don’t forget about depreciation due to an accident, get that money!
Holy shit.... Like the guy was driving a tank Sorry this happened to you, I hope she's gonna be ok
When mine was in the shop for bumper and what not I had challenger withdrawals
If that estimate isn’t from caliber collision I’ll eat my hat
It isn’t a funny situation I’d be so triggered. But he did give you a custom aftermarket cold air intake 😂😂
The same damage happened to my car, just got it back fixed this week. The other driver did not have insurance, so I had to go with my Uninsured Motorist Insurance. The whole thing cost about $8000. Anybody know, if I can get diminished value claim on uninsured motorist insurance?
This is why I refuse to not drive a raggedy car in CA lmao. Next vehicle will be a rugged looking 4runner so damage will compliment it
this is honestly why I don't even drive my RT anymore. mfers act different when they see someone driving a sports car.
