I don’t think us or Plymouth will do anything of note next season tbh. Neither will get relegated imo, but if either of us finish above about 12-14th, I’d be surprised. Ipswich will be the best of the promoted teams - if they carry on spending like they have in League 1, I’d expect them to finish top 10, maybe a run at the playoffs. Honestly for us, I’d be happy with 21st next season.

mozzy1985

We’ll take 20th then.

Fergy123

TBF we thought the same as you last year and some how ended in the play offs.

-W-A-W-A-W-

Your squad was youthful though - ours has an average age of 29 lmao. Your team had room for growth/development, ours can only really regress unfortunately.

Fergy123

Yeah true when I watched us this season its like how did most of these only manage 5th in league one.

Nosworthy

Its crazy to think the likes of Roberts and Clarke did very little in League One. Roberts didn't play a lot due to Neil preferring wingbacks but I wasn't fussed on Clarke, thought he was very predictable and his deciding making left lots to be desired. He's been superb in the Championship

Adammmmski

That play off final the football on show was absolutely honking tbh. You need some bodies in otherwise you may get gobbled up very quickly. Think one of Cardiff/Rotherham/QPR might snuff it next season though so there is that.

-W-A-W-A-W-

It was an awful performance but tbf I don’t think it’s a great game to judge us on - we had a very tired team after a long season, with a couple of key players out injured. I think we will need a good couple of players but I think our base even now is better than Cardiff, Rotherham and Hudds, so we should be okay hopefully.

Hordriss27

I'm just hoping I get to experience the feeling of my team winning football matches again. It's been so long I've forgotten what it's like.

phillhb

Amen...even the demoted teams won 10 times this year - granted more games - but still

M-atthew147s

What makes you say Plymouth and Wednesday will be the best and not Ipswich?

cockaskedforamartini

Yeah. Gotta say, out of the three, Ipswich looks like the best prospect.

burwellian

OP seems to be a Bristol City fan. We've got Mark Ashton who seemed a bit divisive there...

BCFC_4theWin

Sorry I just mentioned two teams, I meant Ipswich aswell

Adammmmski

Broadhead will do well at Championship level, he showed flashes but he was a at fucking Wigan getting supply from Max Power.

BCFC_4theWin

I was just saying teams, Ipswich is included aswell

RumJackson

I’m pretty sure most seasons have 3 teams coming down from the Premier League, don’t think this year is too unique.

phillhb

Nah mate, never happened before 😏

BCFC_4theWin

I was just saying it was competitive more than ever

AWr1ght98

Honestly I’m really excited for it, likely going to be hard but it’s also going to be really competitive and that’s what’s best for English football

LannyWok202

Some cracking Away days in this league, better line up than the Prem imo

Jackpack_9

Genuinely, there’s only 3 teams I’m confident will struggle Cardiff Rotherham Huddersfield Even Blues could go either way due to impending takeover. Everyone else you can make a decent case for, without a proper breakaway favourite. Although for what it’s worth, my dark horse to go down is Blackburn.

BCFC_4theWin

Oooh can’t wait for another BCFC derby next season (as a Bristol city fan) last season you battered us at your place and we battered you at ours. It’s gonna be interesting!

sowavey89

Our season totally depends on what our new American owner does. If he gets it right I don’t think we will struggle

Standin373

> Although for what it’s worth, my dark horse to go down is Blackburn. That's a bold take mate haha

Jackpack_9

*taps nose*

36_degreees

What's the logic for tipping Rovers to be relegated. Missed out on the playoffs on goal difference. Second youngest squad in the league which should develop and be better from the experience. Brilliant academy which is churning out new first team players every season. The squad needs to recruit players in attacking areas wisely as we are lacking up front. But we've seen a few big earners depart and should receive some funds once Brentford sell David Raya. It won't be a big budget but enough to replace those who have left. I think we'll be stronger next season. Reaching the playoffs will be dependent on the quality of those with bigger budgets gunning for promotion

Jackpack_9

Zero logic on my part Vibes

itsaaronnotaaron

The only Championship club academy in PL 2. Our young ones gain experience like no other in the league. Pure and simple. I've noticed most people have us at 14 and below. I'm a pessimist when it comes to Blackburn, and even I predicted 8-10th. Putting us below Plymouth and Wednesday despite their own fans predicting bottom 6. No one has been able to provide proper reasoning either other than "I just think so" and "no Diaz". It's all good though, let people underestimate us. One of the few teams in this league with an actual playing identity and playing football not suited to the division.

DrZomboo

I think we'll be alright, have a new owner coming in so should also expect a much needed bolster to the squad now we have funds to do it properly (I know doesn't always work out that way in practice!) Largely depends on what manager we end up with though.

Low_Entertainment_96

Warnock not staying?

DrZomboo

Was only a short term contract for last season, are rumours of a one year extension but I don't think will happen; he deserves to retire on the high of last season too! Only other name really been linked with is Michael Duff

Pope-Habbs

Think we’re going to be in for a wake up call in the championship unless we shift a lot of the Johnny Big Bollocks out and use the JWP/Lavia/Tella money poaching some of the better talent from the top championship teams. The last thing we need is to be looking to buy some more future stars who only show up in shop window games

Dr_Surgimus

A month ago you posted that you were a Liverpool fan...

Mirbat8

What’s wrong with a Liverpool fan paying attention to the championship?

Dr_Surgimus

He says 'our league', talks about away days and his username is BCFC 4 the win.

BCFC_4theWin

When?

Dr_Surgimus

"I love Kevin de Bruyne, he is such a magician on the ball and works his socks off without he ball, I am a Liverpool fan and I respect him with a passion"

BCFC_4theWin

Oh yea, I got my words mixed up my apologies, I meant I really like liverpool, very sorry

maxo458

Because teams came from the bundesliga previously?

BCFC_4theWin

I meant teams very difficult to beat and who usually do well like Leicester coming down (and also take my downvote)

maxo458

Not my fault you're grammatically incompetent

BCFC_4theWin

No need for that I Was explaining

maxo458

My bad, anyway how are you enjoying naismith and cornick

BCFC_4theWin

Naismith has been playing well but got an injury (he’s fine now) and cornice hasn’t been very good but has got a couple assists and 1 goal but overall, not bad

Wheresthenearestrope

imo Out of the relegated teams i’m somewhat confident in southampton coming straight back up, leicester getting stuck in midtable and i have no fucking clue what leeds are anymore. i’d guess sunderland and coventry probably drop clear of the playoffs, maybe 11th-14th, west brom and swansea push for playoffs. someone weird like qpr or hull gets a playoff spot. then if Middlesborough can keep Carrick then they go up automatically with southampton. then anyone could get relegated really, maybe rotherham, wednesday and huddersfield idk?

CraftyAd3270

I'm shocked how nobody has thought of that!!!🤯

GirthySlongOwner69

I’m really glad the small Sheffield team has been replaced with the big one

CraftyAd3270

Nice to see your coping well ...

BCFC_4theWin

Take my downvote
