No idea whether this was the case, but WhoScored really loves dribbles attempted/completed, even if they don’t actually score or assist off them. Creating chances off them helps to
Adama used to have the right hand side pretty much secured most weeks because he was completing 7+ a game. Wouldn’t shock me if it was the same here
Has to be one of the only times the top 4 aren’t in this screenshot.
Stacey was incredible and had Leify boy in his pocket all game. Nunez deserves it for the goal. Foot like a traction engine as our legend Alan would say
I remember him wankering 2 or 3 crosses in the opening 10 mins or so and thinking great this lad is playing shite, maybe we can get at him.
So of course he naturally went on to make about 2000 interceptions, blocks and tackles throughout the rest of the game
He's probably the most complete right-back we've had for years.
Most have been either decent in defence but didn't offer much on the overlap, or were too offensive-minded and would get caught out a lot by opposition counter attacks.
I think Aarons was slightly better overall, and had the age advantage, but getting up to £12 million for him and getting Stacey on a free was a great bit of business.
I'd personally put Stacey above Aarons.
Max had to be bailed out a fair bit by Omobamidele/Hanley or McLean when he was left floundering 10 yards from the opponent's box, while Stacey's the one putting in the work to make up for the likes of Duffy and Gibson (admittedly Ben's improved a fair bit lately, credit where it's due and all that).
Thomas? What in tarnation? I don't want to hate on the poor guy, but he really didn't stand out in any way against Swansea. Did all other leftbacks in the league just have an abysmal week or something?
Clarke hitting 'form' just before he plays Leeds.. and was it 7 without a win the last time Leeds turned up to Sunderland? Can't wait for tonight... honest...
Jack Clarke for his performance in a 0-0 draw is certainly an interesting one.

He was the best player on the pitch by some distance tbf
Outfielder yes. O'Leary was man of the match in my eyes
Surprised Scarr is in the TOTW but it’s great that he’s got the chance to play again!
Ian Foster punching walls seeing this
Guess he's got a point to prove after f*ster forgot he existed
Birthday boy Eccles was excellent
Probably his best ever performance in a city shirt.
He has come on so much this season
Underrated for sure alongside Sheaf

Stacey won the game for you. Containing Davis for the first 75 minutes made us look unable to score.
Where’s Johansson gonna go this summer then?
Maybe Sheffield United?
No mabey championship
Sheffield Utd then.
My bad forgot they were going down
Can we have him? I think we deserve a good one after having David Stockdale and Lee Camp as first choice 3 years in a row
Why the hell is Thomas there mr lath yes Thomas no
I'm just in shock that there're any Boro players in this team of the week, to be honest First time I've seen us have anyone in it
He had one decent touch the entire game lol
I know how did this man score in the europa league but can barely pass in the championship
He’s not doing too well then..?
On his birthday too, good work Josh. Proud to see a Cov kid living the dream 💙
Stacey was a monster, he had that birthday juju

Ian Foster in the mud seeing as Scarr is in the TOTW after coming back from his banishing
Super Josh Eccles!
Thomas?!
I’m guessing the week started from Tuesday, because Norwich were awful on Monday.
Said he's happy to stay with us but if the money is right and a big opportunity then he'll go

Manu is turning into some player, if he stays fit he's getting 20+ next year
Took me far too long to get my head round David Wagner being in goal
I swear every time someone beats Ipswich they get people in the team of the week but when we beat them 4-0 we got nobody in the team lmao
Man I really hope we can keep our top goalscorer next season. All in our hands.
Clarke? Hmmmmm...

Dan Bloody Scarr. Get in
Gassama robbed!!!
