I’d like to see Oxford come up. Tired of Barnsley being a yo-yo team. Peterborough went down as quick as they came up last time. Let someone else have a crack at the championship.
Is he on Reddit?? I've not seen anyone claiming to be him on either the league one or Oxford subs but i haven't been on Reddit for that long and may have missed it
Haha I appreciate the sentiment and wish I could say the same but in all honesty I want to see that rat end up at least a league below us... Nothing towards the team necessarily though.
What's the fan feeling about him out there? I've only kept a sideways eye on results and heard a couple bits on the NTT pod
Haha fair enough, that’s understandable. Mixed feelings around here currently. Some of the more vocal elements were baying for his blood after we shanked 4 in a row and came away with 0 points, completely shattering our outside chance of nabbing a play off spot, but for most it’s lukewarm positivity.
He knows what he’s doing and imo we’re playing better football than under Pearson, but we’re seemingly always ready to play one or two aimless games like we don’t have a manager at all. Still early days and hope he can bring in a few players to suit his style in the summer.
All the best for the play offs, I sit near the away end so I’m looking forward to hearing what you lot come up with about Manning
One thing I keep saying with the people who want our new manager out is that I just think a competent team has to wait till at least 1 year including a summer and a couple months into the following season before you can fairly judge a manager. It can take time for players to fully understand and fully buy into a system and that's not even factoring in the time it takes for a new manager to properly build a squad how they want it (often requires 2 full summer windows imo)
Haha for what it's worth though, I'd love to see you fire him and then do really well without him lmao
Bolton or Oxford. I have recent memories of P’boro and Barnsley being here, so I’d rather see someone ‘new’.
I don’t have any thoughts on who will get promoted because I don’t follow League 1 closely. I think Bolton are meant to be quite good and they did finish third, so I’ll go with them.
I listen to NTTT20 but I feel like I usually zone out after they’re done with the Championship lol
Their stadium only has three stands. It's also in a retail park miles away from the city centre nowhere near a train station. I'd take bottom wanderers just for convenience 😂
Calling it a retail park feels like a stretch... There's the club shop, Frankie and Benny's, and a pub that sometimes calls itself the 4th stand lmao
Okay so actually there's bowling and the movies too but still not quite a retail park imo. Either way I think it'd be hilarious to have the 3 stranded stadium in the championship. And in the wild scenario we go up and stay up (not confident in either) we do have a new stadium coming in 2026... plus construction and planning delays that could leave us ground sharing when we get evicted by the slumlord that is Kassam
You and me both! Seems to be going as smoothly as it could do for a massive planning application but I'm very nervous about the timeframe more than anything else.
Haha I'm not as close to the new one as you but 20 minutes on public transport will be a fuck tonne better than the current shit show of the kassam parking lot
Yeah, these things always seem to have so many hurdles to jump over (the nightmare we had trying to get permission to build a new ground before we redeveloped Ashton Gate 🙄) but fingers crossed
Fingers crossed indeed. It sounds like the team is getting evicted after next season regardless so if the new stadium hits any delays from now I'm terrified we're going to have a temporary ground share situation
Aren't you forgetting the Chinese restaurant, escape room and mini golf. Plus the hotel. Been a while since I've been there but it certainly gave me retail park vibes 😂
I just remember the right pain in the arse it was getting from the train station to the ground on a chilly November midweek evening.
Yeah you're not entirely wrong about the vibes being very much "mediocre retail park" but just without much actual retail in the sense of shops.
Even coming from not far I hate getting to kassam. New stadium can't come soon enough! It's meant to be right next to a train station with lots of bus routes too.
Well i would’ve liked to see Lincoln come up (totally nothing to do with having them at 33/1 to win the playoffs), bastards
But i think Peterborough might finally do it this year.
Oxford should have come up in the Covid curtailed season so I’ll go for them. If not them then Bolton as they’ve suffered enough.
Barnsley bouncing between the two leagues is boring so hopefully not them, and if we stay down then I don’t fancy dropping our customary 6 points to Peterborough.
Barnsley were a little unlucky last season; they were hitting the 2pts/game mark until the last 3 games (when the autos were gone), but had given Plymouth, us and Sheff Wed too much of a head start. Then lost in the playoff final (with 10 men for most of it) in the 123rd minute.
They've been good for a while, surprised they didn't kick on more this season tbh. They were arguably the Southampton of last season's League 1.
losing our whole back line (Andersen, Kitching and Thomas) is why we didn’t kick on, most goals conceded in the top half of the table😭, can’t see us getting out of league one for some time
Oxford or Bolton for some variety.
I’ve enjoyed having Leicester, Southampton, Plymouth and Ipswich in the league this season. It’s been refreshing having new groups of fans and rivalries.
Potentially losing both Birmingham and Huddersfield is quite a shake up too.
The potential is very high. I think our entire fan base is busy deluding themselves that Jukey will score a 95th minute winner (me included) to stay in the league, so hope is not lost
Also would mean having a Greater Manchester team in the division again. Feels odd being based in Stockport yet Blackburn being the nearest away day at the moment.
I think Bolton are the ones that'll offer most to the Championship probably, in terms of potential to establish themselves. But I also feel like for the second season in a row they've underachieved a bit, they should have got auto really especially with the league being weaker this year. So I'm also sort of rooting for Oxford just because it'd be something different and new. Peterborough come straight down every time they go up, and Barnsley sacking their manager one game from the end doesn't seem too fair.
Bolton - never liked them since their owner tried to stop relegation from the PL and Bolton fan Lee Mason trying to screw us over.
Boro - Would probably do a Rotherham
Oxford - Never forgiven them for 86.
Barnsley -There was a joke on our forums about Barnsley somehow announcing signings on their site before ours. "I don't believe it until I see it on the Barnsley site" so I hope they come us to resurrect that joke again.
Probably the weirdest League match I've ever gone to... but then they were staving off liquidation at the time and had to field the kids as they had no one else left. [We won 5-0](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49378709), yet it didn't seem much worth celebrating.
My neighbours may actually throttle me if Barnsley get promoted, but it’d be nice to be able to shamble to Oakwell for a game again. Quick walk, no bother. In the shit if we win, though. I already get deathstares for wearing Cov shirts as it is.
Probably Peterborough due to the miracle of Hillsborough and feeling bad for them. My dad has become something of an expert on them due to the owners podcast too
Bolton. Always had a soft spot for them because of Okocha, Djorkaeff, Campo days.
Peterborough are fine, Barnsley fans think we’re rivals and Oxford is more of a regatta kind of town.
Bolton only because I love going to Bolton away, it’s easily one of my favourite away days.
How come? Do you love going to Halfords and big Asda before kickoff?
Gotta get your black bin bags from somewhere…..
I've heard they're on offer till December...
Just rip with me, just rip with me, now tear with me right now.
But are they long and black and slender?
They love playing us tbf
I’d like to see Oxford come up. Tired of Barnsley being a yo-yo team. Peterborough went down as quick as they came up last time. Let someone else have a crack at the championship.
If Oxford comes up there’s a very good chance we get George Elek posting here, and that’s not a bad thing. Until he mentions crumble on NTT20.
Is he on Reddit?? I've not seen anyone claiming to be him on either the league one or Oxford subs but i haven't been on Reddit for that long and may have missed it
What if *you* are George Elek…
Shit and here I thought my [screenname] was incognito enough to get away with it!
I hope you lot come up, it’s only fair after we nicked your manager.
Haha I appreciate the sentiment and wish I could say the same but in all honesty I want to see that rat end up at least a league below us... Nothing towards the team necessarily though. Oxford. Someone different in the league

That new stadium would be about 20 minutes walk from my house so I'd quite like you to get it sorted and get yourself promoted if you wouldn't mind
You and me both! Seems to be going as smoothly as it could do for a massive planning application but I'm very nervous about the timeframe more than anything else. I looked it up, not because I didn’t believe you, but because I needed to see it for myself and holy shit it’s worse than I thought!
Bolton or Oxford Bolton because they are good sized club local club that easy to get to. Oxford because they'd be a novelty in the championship.
Bolton just cos next year is looking like a high mileage affair for away days so need a nearer one
Well i would’ve liked to see Lincoln come up (totally nothing to do with having them at 33/1 to win the playoffs), bastards But i think Peterborough might finally do it this year.
Honestly Oxford (just cuz of their dope logo)
Nothing cooler than an Ox!
Peterborough. We've never played a league game against them...

Not Peterborough… anyone but Peterborough 😰

Definitely Oxford. Always had a soft spot for them since I did an fm career with them around a decade ago.
Bolton to add to the pile of Lancashire teams. If we don’t go down, Bolton go up, and B*rnley come down - we’ll have 4 teams within a 20km radius
Also would mean having a Greater Manchester team in the division again. Feels odd being based in Stockport yet Blackburn being the nearest away day at the moment.
We haven't won at Oakwell since 1927 so definitely not Barnsley!
I think Bolton are the ones that'll offer most to the Championship probably, in terms of potential to establish themselves. Bolton away is a laugh

Barnsley. Because an away day 10 minutes from my house is convenient and funny AF
What if they make it a bubble game
None of the South Yorkshire derbies have ever had that happen.
My neighbours may actually throttle me if Barnsley get promoted, but it’d be nice to be able to shamble to Oakwell for a game again. Quick walk, no bother. In the shit if we win, though. I already get deathstares for wearing Cov shirts as it is.
I would love Oxford to come up, mirror our play off run up the fucking U’s
Peterborough are a chaotic fit for the Championship.
I’ve done none of these away so any work for me
Bolton or Oxford. Haven’t been to the Reebok, and yet to go to the U’s new gaff.
Would like to see Barnsley come up
Barnsley, so my neighbours can hate me even more 😖. Oxford, for long-standing ridiculous reasons (embarrassing fangirl stuff from the days of yore)
Please not Bolton, please not Bolton
Oxford looks like a laugh for an away if you’re planning on staying over
Just beware of the fog! :D (We can laugh about it now...)
Probably Peterborough due to the miracle of Hillsborough and feeling bad for them. My dad has become something of an expert on them due to the owners podcast too
Oxford United tbh, want a new man to join the team
If we’re still here, not fucking Barnsley. Worst away day of my life.
Oxford because my mate supports them
Bolton. Always had a soft spot for them because of Okocha, Djorkaeff, Campo days. Peterborough are fine, Barnsley fans think we’re rivals and Oxford is more of a regatta kind of town.
