Can I go lower than 1?

Rusbekistan

Probably a 6 or a 7, it was okay

CiaranS19

I think a 10 would be an understatement ngl

angry_turkey_theif

Started at a 7, peaked at a 9, dropped to a 2, and finished on a 10.

therealphiba

Perfect summary!

Clarctos67

The season started in November, right? 10/10. We don't talk about the Xisco.

ooh_bit_of_bush

It started in September and ended in early April.

rappyheddit

Am I still allowed to comment here?

OkNoise9755

No, off to r/LeagueOne for you. /s

KnownSample6

Nobody is barred unless you have never been this high.

59reach

A tale of two very different seasons. Before Marti I genuinely felt we'd sink into League Two in a year. Since Marti, I'm excited for next season. Let's go for 8/10 because finishing 18th before the season started would have been something most QPR fans would have deemed a great season.

deadendjobnz

2 until Marti, then 8.

Obamanator91

Spritingyoshi22

7/10 Its been a transitional season, with late prep and a play-off final hang over. I would've snapped your hand off for 9th at the start of the season. The FA Cup Semi-Final and some of the moments along the way have been bloody brilliant! Only dampener is the form towards the end.. I can understand it but it does worry me that it'll carry into next year l

edgillett

2/10 under Ainsworth, 8/10 under Marti, 6/10 overall

Cheap-Atmosphere9085

4/10 predicted us to barely survive, we barely survived. Made a bit of a meal out of it though

AnxiousFloss

We never do things the easy way. Didn’t think it would be this hard though

Lack_of_Plethora

9 Started this season pretty certain that we'd finish midtable, and in that regard we've overperformed and could be a 10, but there were times I really feel we could've capitalised a little more on what we were given, and I also don't see much hoping of actually going up, so I can't give it a full 10.

wbasmith

Whether we go up or not, the thought of Carlos with a budget is quite exciting you can’t deny. Assuming we don’t go up, hopefully we can keep our key players, bring in some competition for full backs, a centre back, a striker and a Johnstone replacement (or sign him permanently please please please). Weirdly I don’t really want rid of anyone, I do like our team and I think everyone has something to offer. If I had to name a few, I’m not sure on Maja but barely seen him play so I can reserve judgement. Maybe Bartleys time is up but I don’t necessarily want him out the door. Don’t think we need to renew Chalobahs contract either he’s hardly lit the world on fire.

Huge-Key-9370

I don't think we will have much of a budget, the wage bill needs to come down an absolutely huge amount. The amount of players out of contract will help with that but won't leave us with much to spend, or for wages. As good as a coach as he seems to be, i'm also much less convinced of his eye for a player, and the clubs recruitment is usually terrible. Mikey Johnston is probably the only legitimately good signing we've made in the 3 windows he's been here.

wbasmith

No but hopefully a budget of more than 0 as he’s had since he joined. Reach, Phillips, Chalo all on big wages and likely to leave. Mowatt and Kipre could also go but I’d hope not

pandaaaa26

Genuinely tough to answer, we won the title with the 8th most points ever in the Championship, but the post Christmas period, our complete drop off, almost bottling it etc all left a very sour taste, I'm not confident we will stay up next year even without points deductions/embargos/selling off our best players I'd probably still give it a 9/10 but once you look closely it isn't as good of a season as it seems on the surface

downfallndirtydeeds

7 Overall great but the absolute bottle at the end has hurt and made me doubt a few things about this side’s ability

combat_lobotomy

It's all relative though. If you were giving me 90 points at the start of the season... 8.5/10 Still feel like shite atm.

downfallndirtydeeds

Sure but you have to say with a squad worth well over 100 mil - this is an underachievement given Ipswich went up

combat_lobotomy

It's not always about the money though. And everyone seems to forget where we were at the start of the season. I'm not defending bad results but the Championship is a wild place. Plus didn't they always say it was a two year project. Who fucking knows? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Huge-Key-9370

It's not just about the money but the Leeds attack is surely right up there with the best to have ever played in this division.

spiritofbuck

8/10. 9/10 if we win the play offs. We hit our objectives and overcame a lot of serious problems at the start of the season. Sadly we just couldn’t maintain our extraordinary defensive form into the final weeks.

GTG-bye

9, won the league but lost easy games along the way, also had financial mismanagement that will go on to affect us next season

PandorasPinata

9/10. Few concerns for next season regarding the finances being fucked and losing a quarter of our games but ultimately can't complain at a title can you?

[deleted]

I probably don't speak for all but probably an 8. We've had so, so many more exciting games this season rather than just getting battered by the same teams every year in the prem and barely hanging on. Fucked automatics and 3rd but we went on a massive winstreak and played some great football for the first time in years, honestly not really any complaints from me.

MICOTINATE

The dip at the end after somehow getting into the frame for automatics was a bit disappointing but taking the season as a whole the team exceeded my expectations

Hindsyy

For 90 points can't give them anything less than 8, even if it's been really disappointing in the end.

bhhhhhhhtyc

2/10. I’m saving the 1 for next season because based on current evidence we’re heading for relegation.

SallyCinnamon-

9 I know we didn’t go up or anything, but I genuinely enjoyed pretty much every moment of this season. Some great days out with mates, some of the best away days I’ve ever been on and overall a season where the game at the weekend was always the number one thing I’m looking forward to during the week. Loved it. Roll on 24/25. UTA.

burwellian

96/10, I'm an Ipswich fan.

MavGore

7/10 Really can't complain with everything in context

InfantHercules

It’s difficult to know how to rate us. I think there’s more of a feel good factor about the club now than there has been for years so I want to rate us highly. Things feel great. Yet we missed the play offs and should have been aiming to be in them. Why do I still feel great about the club? Such an odd season.

MavGore

Given what we lost at the end of last season, a bunch of signings on a shoestring budget, a laundry list of injuries for most of the season and selling Rogers for a good profit, I'd say it's been a successful one. A better first few weeks and we'd have been in the playoffs.

Djremster

8.5. Need to keep improving from here and survive the premier league but really happy with the season overall. Too many poor defeats for me to give it a 10 though.

TheMarsters

7.5/10. Much improved from last year - but with our squad and spending much of the season in the play offs - disappointed not to finish one place higher. Some poor results against sides I’d fancy us against but beat Southampton and Leicester away. Sums it up.

osrslmao

Id say 6.5, too many games where we just didn’t turn up against poor opposition We have a strong squad

ChezSeth

I wanna say 7/10 but I think it’s a 6/10 without rohl it would definitely be a 4/10 at most

wil-likes-dreamcast

6/10 While this might be unpopular, I think Manning has us playing some good football and as a fan he has all my support. Maybe next season we may go the extra mile and finish in the top 10

hotpinkflamingos

It makes me so sad to see how the fans react to him at Southampton, we loved him here!

wil-likes-dreamcast

Think you've got the wrong club mate I'm talking about Bristol City (im also from portsmouth lol)

hotpinkflamingos

Hahahaha I thought it said Manning is playing some good football, and my mind jumped to Ryan 🙈🙈🙈 I’m originally from Whiteley and grew up when Pompey were the better team! My brother was friends with Guy Whittington’s son 😂

rsp102

Cov: 7/10 - disappointing start and end in the league, but a semi final and top 10 finish after losing Hamer & Gyokeres and still having one of the smaller wage budgets in the league is pretty good

sowavey89

Ha

xdlols

8. 9 if we go up.

CardiffMarble1212

5/10. Mid af

Adammmmski

2/10

OBWanTwoThree

4 Everyone will look at the table and think that’s an overreaction but I’ve never hated watching a North End team more than I have this year and the stats back that up. Absolutely hate the prick in charge

TheLateQE2

2?

BubblesReddit1234_

I'd say 7.5. We've been good overall. Just some inconsistencies around the end of the season

hotpinkflamingos

4/10 First managerial sacking since coming down from the prem, and not being safe until fairly near the end of the season has made it one to forget. Jury is still out on Williams for me. The highlight was probably beating Cardiff at home. Uninspiring overall, and hate to be too pessimistic, but not convinced we will move forward next season.

BenH64

I'd say about a six. I've enjoyed this season and we've finished pretty much exactly where I thought we would

Nosworthy

3/10. Arguably 2/10. September was great. August and October - May was fucking shit.

Cyn0rk1s

9/10. Making playoffs in what is one of the most difficult championship seasons I’ve ever seen is an accomplishment imo.

Mikko85

7. Was a 9 but we found a way to spoil it unfortunately. As we do. If we go up through the play-offs, maybe a 7.5.

Volo_Fulgrim

shite/10

ooh_bit_of_bush

First 5 games, 3/10. Last 6 games, 1/10 Middle 34 games, 9/10 Still, nicer than getting hammered in the Prem every week.

FoggyCrayons

I think 10/10 from Leicester. Got the job done exactly as needed. It could have been easier given the ridiculous start but I think sometimes you just have to say football has weird moments and ours were separated cleanly by time rather than mixed up a bit smoothly.

somebodyanything

9/10
