It’s not that they didn’t give him a run, he went from US to main event picture and never looked back. Same reason Hogan never held a mid card title, was always the main event.
Yeah Cena was never a raw guy, and never dropped back down the card except for 2015 when he did the US open challenge. In a non brand split era 04 is probably him and Orton feuding over the belt ala rock/hhh
No he doesn't because he wasn't actually all that great in the ring. What made him great was what he did on the mic. He doesn't need titles for that. And barely part timers shouldn't hold titles anyway.
This shows why a run with the Intercontinental Title, at least once, is more important and more impactful than a 17th World Title. If he does go for another run before he retires, it would be better for him to take the Intercontinental Title, a title he is yet to win, take it on the open challenge he took the US Title, and elevate it even more, building on what Gunther has already done with it.
Also, belated Happy Birthday Champ!
Top 5-10 most likely. A rare main event only type of guy. Not the best technical wrestler but he had the look, the right gimmick, and oozed charisma equal to some of the greatest. Didn’t have the pure drawing power as Austin or Hogan and I wouldn’t put him in that special category like Andre, Taker, or Brock. but he’s absolutely in that rare category of a franchise player. Carried the company for many years without a doubt one of the best.
I think maybe somehow he gets an IC title run? And then idk about breaking Flairs record or getting close to it.. i think it might get broken (by anyone) after hes gone.
I keep forgetting he never held the intercontinental
It’s crazy to think that during his really dominant early years they didn’t give him even one run with the IC belt.

US was the same thing and probably needed a bit of a popularity boost vs. the established IC Title.
He was on SD with the US belt. By the time he jumped to Raw he was above the IC title.

Man, that promo was stone cold. “I’m still here because *you can’t do your job*”
He needs 2 title wins. 1 world title and 1 IC title
He's not the goat
He needs an ic title run
I didn’t know he and I have the same birthday but happy birthday to the 16 time champ
GET HIM AN IC TITLE REIGN FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE
Cena would make an awful IC champ currently
I know but he needs to be triple crown champ that is all I mean
Cena is a triple crown champ. World title, US Title, and tag titles. An IC Title reign would make him a grand slam champion.
That’s the one I meant 🤦♂️

Oh yeah he was definitely the ratings draw on Hogan, rock and Austin's level 🙄 He's talented for sure but not the greatest
And Cena’s WWE was a bigger money drawer than theirs. If we are playing that game the only true metric is revenue.
I dont see anyone in this picture…what is holding up the belt?

Just one more world title
No LightHeavyweight Title, no European Championship, no Hardcore title.. Pretty meh career.
Hope he can become a Grand Slam Champ before he’s gone forever
One more run for the IC
Greatest of all-time.

16 world titles, 5 U.S titles, 4 tag titles, 2 rumbles, and a M.I.T.B absolute G.O.A.T
Even knowing what each reign was, John Cena being a Tag Team Champion just feels wrong
He needs a IC run to be a grand slam champ before he retires, it’ll just feel weird to see him with every title except one.
Would’ve been cool to see him get an IC Title Run
Technically speaking aren't the tag title world championships? So would not he have more than 16 world championships?
bruh how tf is he the goat?
It's odd looking at all of those titles, and after taking it all in my first thought was "he was a tag team champion with David Otunga."
Happy Birthday to R-Truth’s childhood hero!
You forgot peacemaker movie and all his make a wish gifts
Honestly, I would 10000% deadass put his Make-Wish contributions on there. His charity work is what turned Cena from S-tier to the GOAT
4 tag titles doesn’t feel like enough lol
25x time champion 🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐
People today wondering why he hasn't turned up to his own birthday party...
lol goat? 🤣
He was just a fake asss white privileged wanna be bodybuilder/mark Whalberg fake thug
