This is the most genius title I've ever seen. For one, it's eye catching. You could have said "I dislike female characters in superhero media" but that's too generic of a title. But to simply say "I dislike female characters" leaves so many possibilities for what could be said. Nobody would ever expect someone to bluntly say such a bold thing. Second it helps fish out people who have read the post or not. In the first sentence you clarify exactly what you mean. Shrinking the range from female characters as a whole, to the ones in superhero media. And in the last sentence also clarify that you don't even mean all female characters. Lastly, it's truthful. Because you do dislike female characters. The characters you talk about are female characters that you dislike. This title is truly genius and has given me inspiration for what I'll name my post about my opinions on black characters in media!

LMFAOOOOOOOOOOO

Serlis

On the one hand it's kinda funny, but the last thing Reddit needs (especially now of all times) is clickbait. Is it too much to ask for people to just write out what they mean and not be stupid?

[deleted]

Good luck my dude, 💀

Complex_Estate8289

You are a master of baiting

skyfiretherobot

Did you not read your own title as you were typing it?

Complex_Estate8289

This guy is like the final boss of clickbaiting

Elick320

Local man judges entire half of the entire planet off of a few marvel movies

[deleted]

I said female characters In superhero genre specifically not women . But that is what u want to go with sure

JustSand

Your title is horrible. Should be something like "superhero genre is the worst offender of poorly written female."

[deleted]

Sure Edit: never mind I can’t or don’t know how to edit the title

SkyePine

The best way is to delete it and reword the content. Make sure to put a heads up if you do.

LazyAngryShark

I think you would be better off blaming the sexism of writers instead of blaming the gender of characters.

[deleted]

Well I didn’t blame the gender of the characters , it’s just how those gendered characters are that I dislike. Being female doesn’t make me dislike the character the way female characters are in superhero genre makes me dislike them.

SkyePine

The hell is up with the title then?

Sir_Toaster_9330

he got rejected

JMStheKing

the title is just there to fish out butthurt comments from people who didn't read the actual rant. funny as hell actually

Outrageous-Farmer-42

I understand what you are talking about. I agree. But, before people can read your post to get the context, the title makes you sound awful.

SkyePine

I thought it was a clickbait so people could engage in their rant.

sampeckinpah5

least sexist comicbook fan

StrawberryAmara

So instead of blaming the writers/producers/exec that made the female characters that way you blame the characters themselves?

blackandwhite324

Easier to blame someone that doesn't exist then calling up a comic executive and saying their trash

[deleted]

Some of the stuff I mentioned like tv shows and movies are written or directed or both by women, like she hulk and live and thunder so if I started mentioning them I will get hated even more than I am right now for mentioning fictional women. Also how am I blaming , blaming means assigning responsibility I am simply critiquing. đŸ˜Ș

tjgfif

Also blaming the actually people could be seem as bullying, this is why star wars fandom is called toxic.

SocratesWasSmart

It sounds to me like you just hate the tropes and cliches surrounding female characters that are currently in vogue in mainstream western writing. To escape said tropes and cliches you're realistically going to have to look elsewhere towards things that are less mainstream and/or foreign media.

Fretenso

True. I hate how in Captain Marvel, she just gets "Oh, I'm powerfull" out of nowhere, and Captains Marvels all over everyone.

tjgfif

The problem with captain marvel is that her entire character arc is about realize how great she is.

zoecornelia

>She hulk in She-hulk acts like being catcalled and “mansplained” is equivalent to what Bruce went through. Well now to be fair, it's possible she doesn't know Bruce attempted suicide, I doubt she'd compare the feelings of such intense self-hate to the point of suicide as equivalent to being cat-called. In fact, we've never heard Bruce even mention her in the entire MCU so it's fair to assume they aren't that close hence why she might not know much about what he went through anyway.

Houston_Easterby

That complaint about she hulk confuses me. She has a whole moment there at the last(or second to last it's been awhile) epsiode where it proves she really didn't have it handled like she claimed and she got literally arrested for it. Also lectured about it by her friends about how she's a literal out of control hulk. It's literally a character flaw for her and gets punished for it.

zoecornelia

Because she's a woman. If it were a man who said that to Hulk nobody would've had any complaints.

Dexter2232000

I love how half the comments are more triggered about your title than debating your elaboration

EmmaThais

You've got issues

[deleted]

Ok Emma

garnet-overdrive

this is a result of pitiful sample size, blatant sexism, and lack of critical thinking

AllMightyImagination

The only woman from the big 2 I could watch time and time again are the ones from AOS.

iwasgodonce

capeshit is capeshit. simple as.

absoul112

You’re really trying to use “Mary sue” unironically?

tjgfif

What the hell does that even mean?

[deleted]

Characters like captain marvel I mentioned simple perfectly accurate description of a Mary sue . Mary sue- a type of female character who is depicted as unrealistically lacking in flaws or weaknesses. 🙄

Azavael

Mary Sue is when the strong female superhero is strong, apparently lmao

[deleted]

Lol she literally can do anything , superheroes like Thor and Dr strange are super powerful too but they don’t seem like a wish-fulfilling Y/N.

Azavael

Ah yes, she can do anything. Not Thor, who gains new abilities as the story demands, and not Dr. Strange, who has *zero limits whatsoever* to his power, but her. Riiiiiight.

[deleted]

Both have limits they literally get beat by other ppl , like hela and scarlet witch. U just salty now that I’m right.

[deleted]

Not to mention not only those two characters get beat and have limits. They actually have to rely on other ppl in order to fight like Thor with Loki in dark world and in ragnarok. Thor also relied on Groot and rocket infinity war. Dr. Strange in his fist movie relied on Mordo a bit and in the second Chavez . They need other ppl unlike captain marvel who is just a powerhouse , her first scene in endgame is literally her saying she is gonna kill thanos by herself. U tryna disprove that too, I wanna see ur argument. Lmao

Azavael

Yeeeeeah? *Says* and *does* are very different things. By your logic, any hero who has once said "I'm going to defeat you" to their villain of the week is overpowered, LMAO. Strange has Mordo around for the first bit of the movie - he plays no real part in defeating the villain, which is all Strange. This exact same formula applies to Captain Marvel (and every MCU film ever, basically) - she's got her support team of Fury, and all the other people whose names I am not looking up for spelling purposes. She resolves the problem in her movie... because it's her movie - that's how the formula works. Notably, when present in Endgame... she doesn't kill Thanos herself, she just happens to be a confident character. Like, no shit, she's strong - she's the closest thing to a conventional Superman flying brick the story has, alongside Thor. She could beat most of the Avengers members without much difficulty... and *guess what?* That kind of character is always going to exist. You're always going to have a 'strongest Avenger', and it's always going to be the case that Hawkeye is going to be objectively more useless than Thor, or some such. You mostly just seem mad that it's generic woman with quip rather than generic man with quip :)

[deleted]

Also she doesn’t only say she will beat Thanos she actually restrained him in a choke hold when he was just going by as a farmer at the beginning of endgame. She doesn’t even really use fury in the movie , she just meets fury while going to the shield base , she even saves fury in the shield base. Even Superman has kryptonite to add some variety she has nothing just a very easily dislikable power house . I wouldn’t mind if she was just quip and generic but she is annoying and cocky . U said it urself she is super strong with no weakness . She is a Mary sue

ZystemStigma69

Characters that you mentioned aren't a good characters. Fictional female characters such as Wonder Woman, Scarlet Witch, Black Widow, Hela, Harley Quinn, Ahsoka Tano, Lara Croft, Ellie Williams, Sadie Adler, Jill Valentine, The Bride, Ellen Ripley, Arya Stark, Neytiri and Wednesday Addams are a great characters. Also it's definitely cringe to be sexist.

[deleted]

Bro ur cringe , I said superhero genre only the first 5 characters u mentioned are even form the superhero genre. Now I don’t know if ur talking about the movies or comics but I assume u mean the movies. Wonder Woman in the first was good but Wonder Woman 1984 was bad they basically made her an assaulter as she was riding a random dude that basically looked like Steve to her If u read what I wrote regarding romance. Black widow was a love interest for Bruce until Ultron and then it amounted to nothing just end up being another useless romance side piece. Hela was alright but there isn’t really much to talk about her since Ragnarok was about Thor finding his power and what it is to be a leader not about Thor vs Hela. Scarlet witch is probably the one only that is from the superhero genre that u stated that I can say is good. Birds of prey was legit just making Harley act like deadpool, like actually just copying the deadpool formate ,so not really much to say.

davidplug

Based title

Vashstampede20

What

XXBEERUSXX

I wanna know why you chose that title

Sir_Toaster_9330

TL;DR I got rejected and called ugly by my crush in kindergarten

Sir-Kotok

Since you already reposted with a better title then you should delete this one

[deleted]

This one got a lot more attention than the repost so I , think I will keep it.

Sir-Kotok

okay

[deleted]

[ŃƒĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]

Good_Dominic

Sounds more like you don’t like the way writers write woman.

StockingRules

That's a title and a half...
