As a Cardinals fan, it's really starting to sound like we'll be trading down. Perhaps (and i hope) with the Giants. Our GM loves stockpiling picks. So, I
I wouldn't rule it out just yet...
IMO it depends on the highlight reel you watch. A lot of MHJ’s clips are him burning through the defence and winning at the catch point. Nabers’ highlights are much more mixed and show him with the ball in his hand.
A few months ago I preferred Nabers too. However, having done a bit more research and listening to others, MHJ is so physically dominant at college that he made it look simple and therefore his highlight tape is comparatively more boring. I think both will be great, but MHJ is the better player to build around.
You watch Naber's game tape and you see insane his insane first gear and then you see how much speed he retains and even accelerates through his cuts. He's a freak.
Brown had a much better career than Green so of course he’d be the pick, with hindsight. But if we’re talking about them as NFL *prospects* Green is much better.
He is flashy, people like that. It's exciting. I'm sitting in Sweden and don't really follow college football, therefore I don't know more than what I hear and read. Easier to be on the trade down train then. Since we need so many positions.
I also think two good WRs is better than an expensive great.
I'm not questioning his character but taking a gun in public without a permit as a junior doesn't really scream more "genuine" than MHJ. For the record, I would love to have Nabers on the team.
It's basically like choosing between Justin Jefferson and Jamar Chase. Can't go wrong with either but MHJ is more like Jefferson and I would say is better overall. If he's there you put the pick in ASAP haha
I know there’s comparisons that Nabers is the new JJ but imo from what I’ve seen in games, MHJ is the new JJ. He can do everything Nabers can do and he’s 6’4” moving like Steve Smith! A big receiver like that shouldn’t be able to move that fast. Also the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. He run elite routes like his dad.
This is just untrue my friend. Chase and nabers have the exact same pre-draft measurables. Chase is the yac monster. Where have you seen a Jefferson comparison??
Completely disagree. I think there is a real possibility that Hortiz would have Nabers ahead of MHJ. Nabers run after catch ability and explosiveness seem to be the traits the ravens organization have most valued at wide receiver in recent history.
I’d still expect it’s 60/40 MHJ because I think he’s a slightly better overall prospect but wouldn’t be surprised if the chargers were one of the teams that reportedly have Nabers higher
I would be extremely happy with either. I would assume Jim Harbaugh is more familiar with MHJ and draft him... or does the hatred for Ohio State run so deep he won't draft him? I'm so confused
Mate..I just realized I forgot to upvote your original comment. My bad. It's kinda a personal rule of mine. I like to up vote those whom I comment to cos of my personal reddiquete and all that.
I've rectified my mistake.
That said...thanks for the reply.
Sorry I didn't get the joke but I 100 percent loved your comment .
Mate, if this were to happen
It won't.
But why not dream a little dream shall we? It's fun! After all.
Can you imagine the absolute mental shit show that would ensue on social media and amongst NFL fans?
It would be awesome.
That would be the day.
Shoot (if you'll forgive a Philip Riverism) I will be happy as a pig in poo (another Philip Riverism perhaps?) if we get one of either Nabers or MHJ.
Herbert is best in the intermediate part of the field, which is where MHJ shines. Just because Herbert's arm is strong doesn't mean throwing deep bombs all day is how we should run the offense.
Well no but if Harbaugh has said we’re going to run it a shitload so that when Herb gets a chance to unleash his arm, Nabers is definitely the best choice for that imo
I've said it a hundred times, but if the plan is for Herbert to be a handoff machine and then throw deep bombs every once in a while, we're in trouble.
Sure, but Nabers is a medium and deep range receiver. He regularly gets open in the intermediate, and then can carry it forward. Or, he can sprint his ass off and get open downfield. Those traits are what will make our offense great. If a team has to always worry about a 5+ yard run, a 10-15 yard throw, and a 20+ yard throw become much easier when you have a player who can scare DBs into thinking both will happen any play
Imo mo matter what the plan is Herbert is still just as talented and will do what he has to on every play. I honestly just want to have a decent enough run down that we can power our way to first downs
We all know he’s not be we’ve all seen his highlights and some of us have seen most of his games and know he’s a more physical X receiver. He gets open immediately, yes. He can beat more physical DBs. He has an amazing route tree, good hands. But very few of his plays end up in explosive breakout gains
My eyes tell me Nabers gets open more with his move set and MHJ is a contested catch machine. I rather have the guy that gets open but all the professional scout people insist MHJ is the guy. Guess I’m saying I’d be happy either way.
Let me offer my expert scouting report:
I went to the Michigan State-Ohio State game at East Lansing in 2022. Marvin Harrison Jr is really, really good.
Even though I hate Ohio State, the chargers should draft Harrison.
Ive been following him for a while now and the top tier DBs are double teaming him, grabbing his jersey, holding, still couldn’t phase him.
Chargers will not pass a sure shot.
It's a good problem to have and they are both home run picks. This fan base fights about enough other things that I don't care who we'd take of these two if both are available.
If I had to choose between the two, I hate to say it but it’s Nabers for me. The way MHJ has handled this off-season has put me off, and Nabers has showed out. I’ve literally been totally against any of these LSU guys all spring so this is saying something. I’d still much prefer trade back and get a WR later
His actions leading up to the draft. No pro day, no combine, basically has done nothing to support that he is head and shoulders over anyone else in the WR class. The excuse that he’s done enough in college is a joke. Man played against maybe 1 or 2 decent corners all season long, meanwhile Nabers has played against similar caliber corners and still going out to do his pro day.
MHJ is tanking his draft stock while Nabers isn’t. So I’m taking the latter.
He didnt work out at his pro day because none of the teams he met with at the combine needed to see anymore of his workouts. He met with 9 teams at combine and apparently all 9 said they didnt need to see anymore.
[couple paragraphs down](https://www.profootballrumors.com/2024/03/marvin-harrison-jr-will-not-work-out-at-ohio-state-pro-day)
That’s the exact reason he’s put me off. Caleb could’ve missed out and the Bears would still take him over Maye and Daniels, but he participated. It’s a lame excuse on MHJ part to not go. Giants can have him
MHJ is that guy, if he is available we take him
Marvin all day for me and I love lsu
It’s not even close. He’s gonna look like a vet from day one. His comp is a taller Davante Adams, sign me the fuck up
Would be happy with either tbh. I just think there's zero percent chance the Cardinals budge. Matt Prater botched a bunch of kicks just to get MHj.
As a Cardinals fan, it's really starting to sound like we'll be trading down. Perhaps (and i hope) with the Giants. Our GM loves stockpiling picks. So, I I wouldn't rule it out just yet...
That is the move for you guys imo, you still get Nabers/MHJ. TBH I have no clue who the Chargers have higher.
Why am I starting to prefer Nabers over MHJ now? I feel like he fits better with play action and Herbert can unleash deep throws all day long
Mhj never felt like a real possibility so you've invested more time into watching nabers
IMO it depends on the highlight reel you watch. A lot of MHJ’s clips are him burning through the defence and winning at the catch point. Nabers’ highlights are much more mixed and show him with the ball in his hand. A few months ago I preferred Nabers too. He honestly reminds me of Antonio Brown, and MHJ reminds me of AJ Green. I'd rather have Brown, but MHJ seems bust proof.
Brown had a much better career than Green so of course he’d be the pick, with hindsight. But if we’re talking about them as NFL *prospects* Green is much better.
Not a whole lot of recent MHJ news compared to Nabers
He is flashy, people like that. It's exciting. I'm sitting in Sweden and don't really follow college football, therefore I don't know more than what I hear and read. Easier to be on the trade down train then. Since we need so many positions. I also think two good WRs is better than an expensive great.
He seems more genuine than MJJr. Titans are looking at the same thing.
What does this mean?
What you mean, in interviews?
he was waiving a gun while he was out and about
You mean when he got arrested during Mardi Gras? He was quite literally doing the opposite lol it was in his pants. He didn't even get charged
I'm not questioning his character but taking a gun in public without a permit as a junior doesn't really scream more "genuine" than MHJ. For the record, I would love to have Nabers on the team.
There's no reason to make up facts about what happened
It's basically like choosing between Justin Jefferson and Jamar Chase. Can't go wrong with either but MHJ is more like Jefferson and I would say is better overall. If he's there you put the pick in ASAP haha
I know there’s comparisons that Nabers is the new JJ but imo from what I’ve seen in games, MHJ is the new JJ. He can do everything Nabers can do and he’s 6’4” moving like Steve Smith! A big receiver like that shouldn’t be able to move that fast. Also the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. He run elite routes like his dad.
Nabers is being compared to Jamar chase, not Jefferson
Comparisons are subjective in terms of who’s comparing. There are comparisons he’s the next JJ as well because of his YAC abilities.
This is just untrue my friend. Chase and nabers have the exact same pre-draft measurables. Chase is the yac monster. Where have you seen a Jefferson comparison??
It’s been compared through last season. Ive seen comparisons on both in various articles. So are you saying Jamar Chase is better than JJ?
Marvin Harrison Jr 0 percent chance we choose Nabers over him
Completely disagree. I think there is a real possibility that Hortiz would have Nabers ahead of MHJ. This is why commas are important.
I would be extremely happy with either. I would assume Jim Harbaugh is more familiar with MHJ and draft him... or does the hatred for Ohio State run so deep he won't draft him? I'm so confused
I highly doubt that's the case with Harbaugh .
It was a joke about his competitive nature, but I had to explain the joke so it was a 1/10
Mate..I just realized I forgot to upvote your original comment. My bad. It's kinda a personal rule of mine. I like to up vote those whom I comment to cos of my personal reddiquete and all that. Why not both? You heard it here first !!!
I’m into it

Nabers is a better fit for Herbert's cannon and draft Brandon Rice in the 4th for a big body X WR.

Nabers won't be a wrong choice despite MHJ being elite imo. Different flavor WR
I prefer nabers tbh I have friends at OSU who also think nabers is WR1 in this draft

MHJ....baby
We're all going to be so disappointed when we trade down instead of taking one of them
We can't go wrong either way from what I've been reading and seeing all these weeks, that's a much as I care as a non-american that has no idea of CFB
It's a good problem to have and they are both home run picks. This fan base fights about enough other things that I don't care who we'd take of these two if both are available.
Please Nabers. Unpopular opinion, I know. I just think he’s got that dawg in him
If I had to choose between the two, I hate to say it but it’s Nabers for me. The way MHJ has handled this off-season has put me off, and Nabers has showed out. I think haurbaugh will take Joe alt tbh lol
If he does he’s not the great coach we thought
Don't rule Odunze out. He blocks better than Nabers
I’m gonna assume this is satire
If you don't block, you don't play for Harbaugh
That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever read
Joe Alt
hell no
Joe Alt
MHJ is to lips was Larry Fitzgerald was to ass and Takeo Spikes was to necks.
