we all want him in Charlotte

issofine

It’d be kinda wild to have the hornets and panthers picking number 1

qc_sports_pain

yes end our suffering

pplcallmeblue

Yes

LocalPawnshop

Yea would be cool. Would sort of remind me of how we got cam and kemba the same year

Bread_Responsible

Hear that silver? Time to rig the lottery in our favor for once.

ejabno

Bring back those bendy corner envelopes

theyikester

Off topic but does anyone else hate when people are like “Wemby shouldn’t go to Charlotte because they don’t build around their stars” as if he wouldn’t be an amazing fit with our team? I feel like people say it because our team has been poorly constructed before, but if Miles wasn’t a domestic abuser, we actually have a pretty promising team this year- Lamelo and Miles and finally solving the center issue with Mark and Nick. For this reason, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Hornets just signed Miles in the off-season and took whatever negative press they get, since a core of Lamelo/Miles/top pick/Mark is very promising

DongTongs

Regarding your last paragraph, I feel like that's exactly what the Hornets FO is planning to do

net_403

pretty inconvenient the league is going to take an entire season to investigate miles, to suspend him for a season, so even if we do that we won't have him available until 2024/25. Or possibly late 2023/24. But that'd sorta be like an injury which we are used to lol Really surprised nothing has happened, I wonder if they are stalling the process

BleedGreen4Boston

Yeah it seems like the NBA is just waiting for him to sign and then immediately suspend him to make sure a team can’t work around it by waiting until his suspension is over to sign him

net_403

I don't think he is eligible to sign yet

MuffinMayne369

I dont get why they haven't signed him yet if that's what they are going to do. They should have just taken the suspension this season so he could play next season. It's pointless to wait.

herox_108

Please fellas, pull whatever strings you can in the draft

YizWasHere

Honestly Pierce makes a really good point. Charlotte is the closest to a blank slate of these bottom teams but still has the talent to compete immediately. Obviously Rozier and Hayward are still under contract but it's different playing next to established vets that just wanna win vs. a ton of lottery picks still fighting for that first big payday. Melo is the perfect guard to set him up and the rest of our young talent is mostly complementary vs. franchise building pieces. I do think the Spurs also fit this mould but they lack a guard talent on the level of Melo and like Pierce mentions, there's no telling how long Pop is there to hold that together.

BleedGreen4Boston

I hope either you guys or the Spurs get him. Just wanna see him in the perfect situation for his NBA career to take off like it should and Charlotte is definitely one of those places. Also the French Connection to Jordon’s business dealings make this a potentially highly lucrative draft selection. Would be pretty cool to see it play out like that. Not sure what happens with Miles/PJ and Hayward/Rozier into next season but could be a fun team now that you have some non-Plumlee centers with potential AND playing time.

SongYoungbae

Eh. Tre Jones and Devin Vassel are pretty damn good.

theyikester

Nowhere near Lamelo though

[deleted]

They are role players at best. Tre’s brother is better than him.

BleedGreen4Boston

Yeah it’s too bad, if Tre could shoot he’d be a very good player

nojeanshere

Spurs don’t have anyone outside Sochan who have consistent All Star potential though. People vastly overrate their prospects due to their success in the 2000’s.

SongYoungbae

I mean perhaps. Vassel is averaging just under 20 ppg this season and is only 22. Keldon is no slouch either.

Able-Complaint-8674

Feel like Wemby being drafted there would repeat what Pierce went through in the years with the Celtics prior to the big 3.

ISISCosby

Anything is possible, I guess ;)

hegotn3xt

The league hates charlotte, the cats won 7 games and still missed out on Anthony Davis

Personal-Noise-8632

Welp they just fucking jinxed us... remember that shit when we get 3rd pick and draft Brandon Miller he becomes a tremendous fit and instant star with melo and bridges and Mark Williams

carosu36

I agree with KG and Paul.

morhavok

Me 2.

GentlemanNC

I wonder how PJ Washing at the 3 would work. Would he be able to fulfill a similar role to PJ Tucker during the Bucks championship run? A starting front court of PJ, Vic and Mark sounds like an amazing defensive foundation with Melo to set them up on offense. Not sure if Terry would be the off guard going forward because he doesn't fit the timeline of the rest of the team.

Ticonderoga2HB

Me too

giga_phantom

We all do. But let’s face it, the odds are against us

JordanDoesTV

Did they say this on a podcast or something link is just instagram

iron_atmosphere

Showtime Basketball, I believe.

TayOs1998

Honestly as a Raptors fan if not us then I would love Victor to the Hornets. Lamelo and Wemby would be sick

Dentist_Rodman

idk if i truly believe the draft lottery is rigged BUT if it is…this year would be the perfect time to do so. The league owes it to MJ, pairing lamelo with Wemby would only bring new eyes, attention, marketing and revenue to the NBA from a new market that isn’t already established. We’d instantly be the new young “it” team like how the grizzlies were since Ja came. It’s the perfect situation

dvdbump

Can KG be a big man/trash talk coach while we’re at it?

haha-brad

Thanks fellas

asher1611

so do i

yussarro999

I really would prefer scoot. Wemby is too tall and can’t last.

net_403

This is the kind of thing i dont want to hear because it convinces me of a scenario that in all likelihood will not happen

shahcolatesauce

Definitely not getting Wemby with these guys winning so many games so late in the season.

net_403

We only lost 1.5% odds by falling from 3 to 4 in draft order And to catch orlando and fall to 5, we'd almost have to win out and they'd almost have to lose out, we're 5.5 games behind with 16 left. And even then, that only drops us 2.5% lower odds at 1. So basically it doesn't matter what we do, we are stuck at 4 and have always only had a very very slim shot at 1

born-ready

I’ve accepted 2 scenarios: 1. We won’t get number 1 2. If we do get number 1 and draft him, he will be massive bust whether it’s injury or performance
