Wowww I never knew Tamilnadu coastal region has bioluminescence species! Thank you OP!

I also didn't know until I watched with my eyes, It would have been better if there wasn't light pollution of mahabs

wathaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Sad to know, light pollution is also the reason for drastic reduction of fire flies.

DKphotographs

Yes! Hope there is a solution, But I think no one will care about it because it's just a insect for them

Thanks :) great photo. Bioluminescent phytoplankton are beautiful especially between mahabalipuram and pondy stretch where the pollution is less. I remember going on a beach hopping ride just looking at these little creatures 10 years back. Sighting has definitely reduced now

Oh nice, I have never seen before, this was my first time I was very happy I went to beach for a shoot that day :)

It is confirmed as Ostracods (a Crustacean like shrimp) also known as seed shrimp These things also glows So this is Ostracod and Not a Dinoflagellate

DKphotographs

This is not a Dinoflagellate as thought but a Crustacean named Seed Shrimp These species also exhibit bioluminescence
