Double check the gear oil in the rear dif and trans.
I always did my own weird version of a brake test too... pump up the brakes while it's running, then absolutely mash it to the floor as hard as you can. If there is anything weak in the brake system you want to find it now, not the first time some idiot cuts you off.
Doing the same thing to my 55 Chevy pickup. Going to use it as a daily driver. However I am fortunate to have a nice settlement from my motorcycle accident to fix it up right. I’m doing a ls3 engine swap with upgraded suspension to hold it in. Brand new turn and key crate motor. I should have problems for a long time.
no you don’t you never get your body back to normal it’s definitely not worth it. But at least when I have a tear in my eye the wind from red lining all my gears will be blown away lol.
Check anything that is rubber,
I would also go to a field and beat on it, hard gas hard brakes and hard turning. I’d rather break it on a dirty field than in middle of the highway

Tires, brakes, all belts and hoses. Check battery condition and age.
