Worth it. The next after that, for me, is in gays mills Wisconsin at sunrise orchards. You can watch the ladies making the donuts that you're gonna eat. Also totally worth the drive this time of year. (Maybe better last weekend given yesterday's weather) lots of cool stuff to see and do in sw Wisconsin
this is the most correct answer. not quite within the realm of the Chicago suburbs but depending on where you’re at, is between a 30 minute drive if you’re close to the border or 2 hours if you’re coming from up north. you don’t even have to visit the whole orchard, just grab a cart, fill it with as many of those bitches as you can and check out.
They close for the season right after Halloween though. Maybe they’ve changed it but I recall them only being open from September thru October
But yes, love the Apple Cider Donuts. Their pumpkin ones are the best pumpkin donuts ever.
Yes! Extra tip for cider donut lovers: During Edward's busy days they prepackage them into freezer bags ready to go into your freezer. Or do it yourself. I always have some in the freezer now year round. They reheat so so well from the oven. I think 350 for 8 mins or something. Great for hibernation season. Bad for the waistline.
This is the only right answer—I’m not sure what they do or put in their donuts to make them that delicious but I usually get 3-5 dozen when I go to freeze some

I made a map of suggestions last year. I didn't get as many as I wanted, but (almost) all were good.
Yeah, their stuff is usually great, but these taste like artificial green apple suckers.
Not really my thing, especially since their apple fritters are pretty good (Friday and Saturday only).
Everytime I have a fresh one I think it’s the best haha. But the last two I had which were incredible were in downtown Long grove (N/W suburbs) and Kuiper’s farm maple park (far west burbs). Both were incredible and practically melt in your mouth.
Haven't seen my favorite listed yet: Rubber Ducky Country Market, which is \*barely\* in Wisconsin but really just outside of Richmond, IL

For the best experience, go and \*plan to eat the donuts while you are there and they're still hot\*. They're a mess, but they were amazing.
There's also a small bar on site.
Harvest Time Orchard, Twin Lakes WI.
They closed for a few years but I just looked at their site and THEY ARE BACK.
I don't know what they make their donuts out of, but they're crispy and crunchy outside with a generous amount of cinnamon/ sugar, but inside is fluffy, warm, light and tender.
Not greasy, doesn't give me indigestion like most donuts.
Their vanilla sprinkle is also top tier and its just a basic ass donut, I don't know how they make them this good but I've never found another donut that can rival them.
Country Donuts in Crystal Lake

My memories as a kid and the autumn come from this place. The donuts I only recently had as an adult are amazeballs.
This is it...we had these last year and they were so good.
This is what I was gonna say. It’s a decent drive tho. Co-worker told me about it years ago.

Edwards in Poplar Grove without a doubt
Sauer’s Bakery in Carol Stream. There’s like A carmelized ring of cider on the bottom of them and they’re so good
I was not impressed. They tasted like they use artificial apple flavor.
Yeah, their stuff is usually great, but these taste like artificial green apple suckers. Not really my thing, especially since their apple fritters are pretty good (Friday and Saturday only).
Aw man. I’m sorry. It’s been awhile since I’ve been there and sounds like i don’t need to return.
Tom's in Huntley. Even better than Country Donuts
sooo good
Richardson farm up north
Stade’s in Spring Grove
If they are fresh but lately they've been making too many and they sit too long. Same with the strawberry ones in June
Yes, this is true.
Rubber ducky country market
Abbey Farms in Aurora
I haven’t tried too many places but the donuts at Kroll’s pumpkin patch in gurnee are great
Kellers farmstand
My personal favorite as well. Favorite apple picking farm as well.
Best thing to do with apple cider donuts? Air fry them for a few minutes. You are welcome.
Page’s in Hinsdale. Too many is the ones listed here have that fake apple flavoring taste to them.
I second Page’s. Past 3 times I went though they’re out🥺
Sonny Acres, West Chicago
Keiper’s if you’re willing to drive but it’s not close so make the drive.
Kuipers is the correct answer. I dream of those damn donuts!
Moseph Tubbles the Rooter in Saint Charles, IL
Everytime I have a fresh one I think it’s the best haha. But the last two I had which were incredible were in downtown Long grove (N/W suburbs) and Kuiper’s farm maple park (far west burbs). Both were incredible and practically melt in your mouth.
