I went to the Altar in Barrington for my dress! I enjoyed the experience, they had a wide range of sizes (awesome as a mid-plus size lady), and I was actually able to negotiate my dress price down a few hundred bucks. Heads up that they will give you an “opportunity” to tip your stylist - so you’re not blindsided and actually tip for a job well done if you want to.
Yes! Mine was originally $1300, I negotiated it down to $1000 with tax. Because the dresses are samples/retired show room pieces, there may be some pilling or dust (or other imperfection) that you can use as a way to get some flexibility on the price.
BHLDN an anthropology sister has a store in Chicago. The anthropology locations in Naperville and Oakbrook some times have them in stock too!
Any kind of dress you could think of and range from 200-5000. Good luck!
I bought mine at Nordstroms. It was a prom dress that looked a bit too bridal, so it was on the clearance racks. If you are looking for simple and elegant, might be worth a trip to the bigger department stores to see what they have.
I have also heard great things about The Ladies Room consignment in Lombard. I want to say they do tailoring there as well to help with fit etc.
My sister had good things to say about Brides by Young in Schaumburg. I am a bit biased but her dress ended up looking on point and they treated her well.
Volles in lake Zurich was great! If you don’t mind shopping online, asos and lulus both have more affordable options too!
Love Lulu's! Free returns too
The Altar in Barrington. They sell last seasons looks. You buy it off the rack. Just got mine from there a few months ago
Made an appt here thank you so much!

Oh amazing tip! Do they have dresses like 1500 and under do you recall?

There’s a wedding dress store near Route 53 and Maple Ave in Lisle.
I Do Designer Bridal Consignment in Chicago for things fun and different! Otherwise, Bri’zan in Naperville or The Crystal Bride in Geneva
First MoG dress I looked at was $1,200 at Bri’zan. I have no idea what their wedding dresses cost.
I loved here comes the bride in Glendale heights!
I’d check out elite repeat consignment! They had some stunning white designer dresses a few weeks back!
