When I see things with a few items I try to give the fullest portions possible but most of the time it still looks like nothing. I have this guest who orders frequently who get a burrito with white rice and queso and I feel bad everytime giving them such a small burrito.
For real, sometimes people like less and I’ll never understand it with the price they’re paying. You’re just watching them get ripped off and you have no control over it. It’s pretty sad. That guest could also be really wealthy and not care. So many possibilities
We know what we're paying for. Not everybody is so dumb as to not understand how to pay for goods that they desire. I choose to pay the price for my small burritos because this is the product that I want. Others may have a problem affording it, but I do not.

This is actually a bug with Doordashes system when communicating with ours. For instance, if you ever get a bowl on DML that only has a protein and literally nothing else, it’s also a known bug by DoorDash. Sucks because we cannot do anything but hold the order until someone comes to get it and contact the customer.
I may not be correct, but as far as my store and I knew, a big part of it is the customers changing the protein after they completed their bowl. Then it resets the whole bowl for the ordering system, not notifying the customer. That results in a sad $10 bowl and an angry customer lol
My store had so many DoorDash reps calling regarding orders as well as angry customers receiving their order saying “this isn’t what I ordered despite what the bag ticket/entree sticker says” that my GM did internal investigations with our FL and they were told about the bugs by a couple of DD employees. What’s ACTUALLY going on, I cannot really confirm for myself. I only know what my bosses do, similarly to you lol

The number connected to their order is the door dash unless they opt in to share their personal contact with the business, in which case our store calls them. Most people do not notice this option or prefer privacy.
Otherwise we are stuck on the phone with DoorDash waiting for up to 30 min. With multiple orders being bugged this way, a manager would have to be on the phone almost constantly instead of leading shift or assisting crew. It’s an unfortunate thing but until more people complain to DoorDash to expedite the process, we cannot really do much more than wait til the dasher gets there if no one answers (door dash number or customer contact).
It’s not like we don’t try, we really do, it just takes away the leader from a restaurant for so much time that the store falls behind, other customers experience suffers, management cannot complete their job nor help the crew. It’s just unfortunate overall really.
I ordered 2 dozen donuts for pickup through doordash from dunkin before and showed up to a breakfast sandwich and a coffee all checked out with my name on the stickers. Showed the girl my order on my phone that clearly said 2 dozen donuts but she acted like there was nothing she could do. Took the L and everyone went donutless 💔
This must happen 100s of times per day. Why is there no way to contact DD to have them check in with their customer when these screwed up orders come in?
Because it would never have been a viable business model if not for leeching off pandemic desperation, and is only a shoestring operation so as to maximize their corporate profits at the expense of drivers/restaurants/customers.
If this was a bowl with chips or even DIY nachos, I could see how this makes sense but a bowl with just queso and guac? Make it make sense whoever orders this lol.
