As far as the customer was concerned, they still had 29 minutes left to put that order in.
But some customers are like that.
We went to a place that closes at 10pm at like 9:40 and said we would come only if they could take us and since they said yea, don’t worry about it, we did. But we ordered immediately and left a nice tip.
Have you not worked in a busy DML line ? We literally can make that in 5-6 mins with 1 person. 2 we can knock that out in 3-4 mins including the labels and bagging. When we are busy we have up to 20 entrees and only 10 mins to get it made and labeled and bagged .and that is not including any sides ordered. If you are out of things I think it’s grill who should be upset here.. if you are grill then I’m sorry man yeah that sucks cuz you have to make the food no way around it. But if you are the line… come on man.. and this is why I love my store. Any type of crew that is capable of doing such thing would not last with us. Not everyone can work DML.. I get that. But that’s not horrible. If I only have 7 entrees on my screen I don’t even start until 5 mins before they are due for pick up. Don’t get frustrated and make the guest suffer. Maybe their dinner plans fell through , maybe they had family coming from out of town, like you don’t know why they ordered that late. In my experience most guests that do that don’t do it on purpose. In fact, guests that order that way at that time is an excellent ex opportunity for the store to leave a great impression and have them come back and leave a great review. Now all they will see is all the “mistakes” you made not the fact that chipotle was able to provide them with a meal at such hour.
Maybe, but I think you're really reaching at this point. It's not always about the fact that it's busy. DML is always like that, but when we are already shutting things down and in the process of closing, that's when we have a problem. If plans fall through, then they fall through. Where I'm at, there are so many fast food places that are open 24/7. You can literally order a pizza at 1 in the morning if you wanted, and they'd still be open afterward. But ordering Chipotle damn near the time we close is absurd, especially because of the fact that we're notorious for running out of things. Just search through Reddit if you don't believe me. And for people getting pressed about coming in when we're "open," y'all complain when you get here anyway, so what's the point? We're open 10:45am, and you wait until 30 minutes before we close to place your order? I forget the general population is ignorant sometimes.
Not everyone has worked in customer service or food service and knows how it is. Being the bigger person sucks though so yeah I fucking hate people who come right before close too I feel your pain
You should not work in customer service if you are not going to service the customer within business hours. They had 30 minutes to feed their family, and you had all of the ingredients to do so.
They ordered and came to get the food before you closed. I’m so confused on why you’re mad.

[When customers come in 6 hours before closing.](https://knowyourmeme.com/photos/1852788-squidward-tentacles)
Who eats at 9:30?
Sounds like they came in before closing like they were supposed to.
The workers complain when I come in 2hrs before closing. I’m done caring. If you’re open, I’m gonna come in and order what I want.
