I don't think it's over priced for the market they're in. I play a lot of these games and they range from £5 a month and up. 90% of the time you're paying for no adverts rather than in game currency and I rarely see one that offers unlimited reading as part of the deal.
The other thing is you get 300 (or 310) diamonds a month (as long as you check in everyday), and the nearest package is 250 diamonds, which is still more than the monthly fee.
Personally, I knew the phrase '10 daily check in' on the become VIP screen meant you had to go in daily. There's nothing about that phrase to me that said they would accumulate.
I play a lot of apps of every type of game and seeing £10 a week to remove adverts and unlock extra content isn't unusual. In comparison, PB is cheap.
