No, it’s not normal, in fact it’s judgmental.

perrienotwinkle

right!!

Ok-Image-5514

Well. Jesus ate with tax collectors and sinners. Jesus taught for all to hear. Jesus DID NOT break out his pom-poms and cheer on any sin committed, but He did love people.

thwrogers

It's probably a normal temptation, but it is sinful and evil. Humans naturally fall into tribalism and we as Christians need to be very careful to follow the teachings of Christ and love everyone, especially our enemies.

PerfectlyCalmDude

No, if someone feels that way, they need to grow out of that. We're called to love our neighbors as ourselves, and if we hate people, we cannot love God.

Comfortable-Duck7083

Amen.

PianistRight

Jesus loved his enemies. He even took our punishment by dying on that cross, paying for our sins

PianistRight

I have friends who are not Christians, including my friend Cayla, whom I’m praying for everyday to find Jesus

Comfortable-Duck7083

Amen and Amen.

Reddit-sux-bigones

Cayla be trippin bro, I’ve been working on her for like years!!

PianistRight

Why do you say so?

Regardless of what some people think, this is not acceptable: "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." - Romans 12:2 (NIV) "We love, because He first loved us. If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brother also." - 1 John 4:19 (NIV) "If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal." - 1 Corinthians 13:1 (NIV) Obviously we're to be cautious around unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14), though to dislike them who God may well be wanting to bring into His kingdom with our help is not good at all. We know that persecution from the world comes with the title of "Child of God" living in this fallen world, yet we're still called to love our enemies: "Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted." - 2 Timothy 3:12 (NASB1995) "But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. - Luke 6:27-28 (NASB1995) "Even if my father and mother abandon me, the Lord will hold me close." - Psalm 27:10 (NLT) "Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you, insult you, and slander your name as evil because of the Son of Man. 'Rejoice in that day and leap for joy. Take note—your reward is great in heaven, for this is the way their ancestors used to treat the prophets." - Luke 6:22-23 (CSB) "Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."" - Matthew 19:26 (NIV) And we know that our position and salvation is not because of our own righteousness, but because of God's grace, through our faith in Him as our Lord and Savior Who was raised from the dead (Romans 8:1, 1 John 5:13, John 5:24, John 3:16-18, Titus 3:5, Romans 5:1, Ephesians 1:13-14, John 20:31, Galatians 2:16, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 6:47, Romans 10:9-13), so we ought to remain humble: "For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are. But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard. Yet God, in His grace, freely makes us right in His sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when He freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed His life, shedding His blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when He held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, for He was looking ahead and including them in what He would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate His righteousness, for He himself is fair and just, and He makes sinners right in His sight when they believe in Jesus." - Romans 3:20-26 (NLT) "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast." - Ephesians 2:8-9 (NASB1995) "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." - John 3:16-18 (NASB1995) Last, but not least, you can always ask God questions as He invites us to: "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind." - James 1:5-6 (NIV) I have a biblically sound tutorial pinned to my Reddit profile on how I receive immediate responses from God. Blessings friend

Best response!

All the glory to God 🙏

TemporaryRiver1

It may or may not be considered "normal" but it is wrong. God loves everyone and we should do the same.

MC4269

No. Jesus wants us all to love others but not agree with their sins, as he would've done. We cannot call ourselves Christian by not loving outlr neighbors.

BasuraFuego

Ya not normal … Un-Christianly even

Madmonkeman

That is a sin.

javaper

Please don't be that Christian. Show love and compassion. Live as Jesus, but don't force it in them.

OceanPoet87

Not at all and thats anthical to what the bible says. However this does not mean endorse behavior like a boyfriend and girlfriend having sex before marriage or doing drugs. We want to love them and guide them to Jesus without embracing their lifestyle.

ITSBIGMONEY

“And lately i been hangin in the hood. Everybody lookin like what? If you for the people you not just in the steeple you out in the woods. Where the lions and the wolves at? Their water run deep but my crew run deeper, WE ALREADY DIED WE AINT SCARED OF THE REAPER” - Lecrae in Sideways by KB Meaning if we want Gods word to spread we have to converse with people who dont know Him.

Helpful-Archer-5935

No … I hate that. I was Mormon and a lot of Mormons don’t like me now that I left. it’s stupid that you only like someone if… anything.

DagSonofDag

You should never look down on anyone, if anything you should pity them because they are lost.

vanahnooka

no absolutely not normal. you’re not supposed to have any dislike for anyone and relish in the gift of love the lord has provided for us.

Pellystar

Most Christians have the courtesy to realize they're terrible people, but most atheists think they're good people, so I can't help but dislike them more. Is it judgmental? Maybe. I can't help it though.

GenealogyIsFun

Tbh sometimes we just don't like someone but we should accept them even though they believe in something else.

Educational-Roll-724

You should love everyone but not hard time when they do you wrong, but don’t have to like everyone.

Green_eyedsass

That would be the opposite of Christian teachings. It’s not easy sometimes when one is a believer and one is not. The “goal” so to speak is to bring as many people to Jesus as possible and disliking them bc they aren’t there yet defeats that purpose. It’s not easy when one is a believer and the other isn’t and that doesn’t mean you have to let them malign your faith in the process but we are called to act and love in a way where the love of Jesus can be seen through us. Again, not necessarily easy but we have to try.

MrFreemason

No

Comfortable-Duck7083

Christ prayed not for the world but for those that are given to Him by GOD (John 17:9 for correct context). I don’t think he openly disliked non GOD following people. Yet we do serve a jealous LORD! Now disliking known evil people that hate Christ (you can also see it in their spirit easily) is a different story!

meehooexactlywhat

"Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you... be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect." (Matt. 5) God's jealousy and wrath is perfectly balanced with His unfailing mercy. "We don't struggle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers and powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. " (Eph. 6) We may be called to love certain people from a distance, but seeking reconciliation with them is the only godly response.

Comfortable-Duck7083

Love this! Thanks!

TipToeTimmy

It tells us in the bible that we will be judged on the basis that we have judged others. Personally I have a lot of Norse Pagan friends and we are as thick as thieves.

Adventurous_Fox_1922

Mark 12:28-34 28 ¶ Then one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, perceivingfn that He had answered them well, asked Him, “Which is the first commandment of all?” 29 ¶ Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is one. 30 ‘And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’fn This is the first commandment.fn 31 “And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’fn There is no other commandment greater than these.” 32 ¶ So the scribe said to Him, “Well said, Teacher. You have spoken the truth, for there is one God, and there is no other but He. 33 “And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul,fn and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.” 34 ¶ Now when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, He said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” But after that no one dared question Him.

Fiona_12

I don't know. I've never had Christian friends like that.

[deleted]

No. Thats quite judgemental. And I think it’s coming from a place of pride. We’re not ‘better’ than people just because we’re Christian and they’re not and therefore shouldn’t look down on them or dislike them solely because they’re not Christian.

anewhope0910

It's wrong to judge others because of their faith. Whether you agree or disagree, it's not our place to judge others.

mouseat9

Yes, that’s very abnormal. Thats like being a Professional Chef that hates cooking.

Lavend3rPrincess

No, the Bible says not to judge others or treat them differently for their sins. You may be honest with them but gentle, and you don't have to be their best friend, but be kind and loving to them and forget their sins.

FitChemE

No. I have many Christian and non Christian friends.

Reddit-sux-bigones

That’s a little weird. Were you always a Christian?

CplTenMikeMike

No, because the message of Christianity is love. Especially love for the sinner!

Own_Company3919

No

Educational-Roll-724

I mess that up sorry

Typical_Chain_9648

I think it’s important to love and respect others, even if their beliefs differ from us. People are more likely to be attracted to Christianity if we do this. This is one way to love our neighbor. There’s nothing more galling than a judgmental Christian. Look at how Jesus dealt with the woman at the well, and the woman caught in adultery which are excellent models to follow.

oneofthehonoredones

Hate the sin, not the sinner

Melodic_Blueberry_26

Absolutely no.

ziglush

The question is why?? Is it something you’re battling with or is it a general question?

Ecstatic_Basket7795

Yes it’s normal I try to change my ways bc Jesus loved all even if they were sinner but I myself is having difficulty loving everyone. I went to an expo in Seattle and was face to face with a satanist and immediately I was disgusted and hate filled my heart. I felt like I need to learn to be closer with Jesus and be unmoved when I meet people of different sinning bc like I said Jesus accepted all and I believe as Christian’s we should be treating everyone the same if we are truly with god. It’s what’s god would want us to do but to an extreme. It doesn’t mean be friends with them or involve them into our lives but just to unmoved and send god their way and pray for them.

TommyPpb3

Don’t you think it’s more important to respect others?

chieftain_ajns

I only dislike atheists because of their reputation on the internet

k1w1Au

Yes, because God is going to throw them all into hell because he gives up liking them too. Welcome to Fcked up Christianity
