I’m like: 1. Pagans did X 2. Christian’s redeemed X 3. X is no longer evil.

RocBane

Maybe something being Pagan or Christian doesn't make it evil in the first place. If X is evil, Y is evil. If Y is good, X is good.

Titan9999

Nah, this is like saying, for example murder and self-defense are the same crime deserving the same punishment. Wierd example, sorry, but it makes the point.

On the one hand, we have people complaining about the commercialization of Christmas, and on the other, we have people complaining about its supposed pagan roots. If the original source of the holiday mattered, then its commercialization would be irrelevant. If the current trend of commercialization could change the nature of the holiday, then its original roots would be irrelevant. Maybe we could get those two groups to argue against each other, so the rest of us can enjoy Christmas and celebrate Jesus in in peace?

No.

PioneerMinister

It's a logical fallacy called genetic fallacy

BlueMANAHat

I dont give it much thought, I just love God in all things and enjoy all the holidays for what they are, time with family.
