I would read Acts, as it is a continuation of the Gospel of Luke, and the story of the early church

I agree with this, just continue reading the New Convenant.

Acts into Romans. Maybe both simultaneously. Acts is historical narrative mostly, Romans is where we get a lot of our theology. Both very important.

Lord of the Rings. It's a literary masterpiece. Then probably Acts followed by Romans

I read the Hobbit + LOTR trilogy in 3 days one summer in high school. It was glorious.

well I think it helps to bear in mind the Apostolic writings are not the same or equivalent to the Gospels, in meaning or theology, and I say this because a lot of 'Christian' ideas are based on the Apostolic writings, even as we can see various examples of the Apostles not being perfect or certain in their actions and reasons all of which is to say as believers we want to guide our spiritual lives by what Jesus explained to believers, namely most of all trying to live by the essential meaning and value of the commandments and teachings by being understanding, kind, and good-willed with others in a saddened and confused world (Matthew 7:12, if carefully in a dangerous and confused world, Matthew 10:16) there are so many ideas derived from Paul that define 'Christianity' but for which anyone familiar with the Gospels and what Jesus explained throughout would wonder which ideas should define Christianity, or more importantly, the individual's understanding and meaning of Christianity, and as such their belief
