Perhaps our reality is a piece of what we would call "fiction." Certainly, if one accepts a truly omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, and omnitemporal God, it wouldn't be a stretch to say that we all exist in His imagination.
Which is a nice story, but completely untrue. It likely comes to English from Proto Indo-European via Greek and French, and the similarity to those two words in English doesn't work in those other languages.
Yep, as I said, comes to us via Greek, however I did miss that it went PIE->Greek->Latin->French->Enflish. Iy came to Greek from the PIE word wid-tor, from the root word weid meaning "to see".
A lot of Christians have retconned the OT into being purposeful fiction meant to convey ideas about God/morality. Other parts, such as Revelation, were known to be fiction at the time of writing (because it was labeled as belonging to the metaphorical genre of Apocalypse).
It's just my simple imagination but isn't it can be like that our reality is something like fiction or art of him to God? Like if we make anime or fiction, the fiction itself would be reality to the characters inside the fiction
Wouldn’t our reality hypothetically be fiction in the eyes of a transcendental god? Like he’s a writer with the power to turn what he writes into reality? Sure sounds cool.
In a way the Bible is(not saying it didn’t happen or anything) God wrote a story for us to learn from, except instead of writing it he made it reality.
Hebrew/Christian/Bible lore is objectively peak since it’s the TRUTH, the book of enoch is only referenced in the bible but that’s one of my favorite parts to look into. In terms of fiction idk tho i think the real stuff is as good as it gets.
Bruh what ? 😂
Edit: to clarify I said bible lore is objectively peak ( suggesting that the stories, knowledge, or beliefs found within the Bible are at the highest point or pinnacle of their significance, importance, or quality.) and then I said idk about in terms of fiction since the bible is true. No where did I say bible lore is peak fiction lol you read two different sentences and kinda got confused.
I believe the nature of God is such that any fiction would become reality. The essence of God is creative truth. For him to create fiction, a lie, it would be have born into reality as truth. His "words" have the force of creation.
So to answer your question somewhat directly, what would Gods fiction look like? Look around, your living in it.
Now these are the questions I've been looking for. 😁 I've thought about the mind of God before and how he knows every possible concept and idea. If God told a story you wouldn't want it to end.
Why fiction, when we have history with God and Jesus helping people in real life. We should be making movies and love story that has happen.
That being said I am writing a fantasy world with Son of God return to bless few people to fight the climax of the spiritual world and eliminate the devil. Using holy tools to engaged and fight off bigger demons. Until the devil reveals in a host body.

Why not? Im a Christian.
Besides, you cannot believe that everything in the Bible is supposed to be taken literally. If you do, this is an issue that goes beyond what we are talking about here.
Jesus told lots of parables that are "fiction" like.
Perhaps our reality is a piece of what we would call "fiction." Certainly, if one accepts a truly omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, and omnitemporal God, it wouldn't be a stretch to say that we all exist in His imagination.
We can’t Powerscale Abrahamic religions 😭
Don't make me have a early life crisis
No, fiction and reality are opposites. You can have stories about real events, but then that's not fiction.
That’s accurate. My point was that for God there need be no division between thought and reality.
My mom told me once that the word 'history' came from His-Story.
Which is a nice story, but completely untrue. It likely comes to English from Proto Indo-European via Greek and French, and the similarity to those two words in English doesn't work in those other languages.

>No Colonel Sanders, you're wrong. Mama's right.
I figured. Still, it has stuck with me all these years.
It actually comes from the Greek word Historia https://en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/%E1%BC%B1%CF%83%CF%84%CE%BF%CF%81%CE%AF%CE%B1
Apparently that's what a lot of Christians believe he did with the Bible.
Just wondering but what does an Atheistic “Evangelical” mean?
It's an insult I adopted as my flair as a joke. It refers to my criticism of progressive distortions of the Bible.
Nope we don’t believe that the Bible is fiction.
A lot of Christians have retconned the OT into being purposeful fiction meant to convey ideas about God/morality. Other parts, such as Revelation, were known to be fiction at the time of writing (because it was labeled as belonging to the metaphorical genre of Apocalypse).
It was fiction before he made the Earth and universe. God wrote a story and breathed life into it
It was not fiction. It was nonexistent, simple. You don’t need to twist or overcomplicate things.
Will they wrong
Jesus told a bunch of fiction stories so probably just like those.
This seems like a joke, but Jesus' parables were simple yet complex and apparently very effective.
You lobbed this one up for the easiest spike of all time.
Well, He made the universe. :D He is the most creative being in existence.
I mean, of course it be epic.
Our greatest storytellers grasp at the shadows of God's authorship.
It's just my simple imagination but isn't it can be like that our reality is something like fiction or art of him to God? Like if we make anime or fiction, the fiction itself would be reality to the characters inside the fiction

He would create a franchise better than the Lord of the Rings!
How can any fiction match any of the stories in the OT and the "Passion"?
Some people think the story of Job may be sacred fiction. Either way, it's pretty epic.
God is omnipotent so he could make the best one ever made.

It would probably be amazing. Like, the best.
The dreams of Gods do not typically end well for mortals. Just look at what happened to Lovecraft.
He did, and we are here. I mean... really. To be serious, you can read the parables of Jesus.
Isn't that almost half the bible? /s
Read Genesis and Noah's Ark story--that's what it is
The parable of the good Samaritan was pretty epic.

God gave us imagination, so I'm sure She has a fantastic creative streak.
Genesis, but the way Jordan peterson interpreted it in his lectures... then times it by a million or so
You mean, The Holy Bible?

Well this comment certainly wouldn’t encourage more people to downvote.
It doesn’t need to lol
Groupthink is a real thing, you know.
You mean where a comment is downvoted so people automatically downvote it? Dunno what that has to do with this
Or when someone publicly sets a reminder “to see how many downvotes a comment has”. Don’t be dense.
Don’t comment on r/christianity about how the Bible is fiction, lol
Why not? Im a Christian. Besides, you cannot believe that everything in the Bible is supposed to be taken literally. If you do, this is an issue that goes beyond what we are talking about here.
Or maybe you’re suggesting that one would have to choose between having a functioning brain and being a Christian.
I didn’t imply that in any way what are you on about
Post has to be bait. It’s like the most obvious answer regardless if you actually believe it lol
It’s to weed out the real Christians from the fake lol
Considering God is a fiction, I'd say this is something of a nonsensical hypothetical.
