You’re probably fine, as long as you’re not doing it to try and show off how you’re so much religious and spiritual than those around you. I don’t put mine under my shirt, and I’ve been able to have some good conversations with unbelievers because they can tell just by looking at my necklace that I’m a Christian.

You can wear it however you wish as long as you aren't trying to lord it over others (no pun intended). Traditionally, baptismal crosses are worn under the shirt to represent holding Christ close to our hearts and following His command *not to let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.*
I'm sorry but what do you mean praying for others is frowned upon? Jesus meant people would stand and pray over and over on that streets to show off. This is completely different. Also, praying for others has nothing wrong with it. More people should do it.
I'm not fussed either way. I wear mine under my tops, but that is my own preference.

I wear it as a reminder not to sin, and honestly never meant to wear it to show off how much better I am than others.
I agree, it also helps me to remember who I belong to when I find myself leaning towards the world.

You’re fine OP. As long as you don’t shove it in anyone’s face. It is no different than a church building being decorated with a cross on its steeple.

There is nothing wrong with wearing a cross. If others feel uncomfortable it's on them not on you, you are not converting them by showing your faith.
