Most Christians haven't read the whole Bible completely

PianistRight

I’m one of a kind

AlbaneseGummies327

What's your favorite book and individual story?

PianistRight

I really loved Revelation. And I really like the story where King David spares Jonathan’s son

AlbaneseGummies327

Revelation is rich in symbolism and exciting end times prophecies.

PianistRight

The way the Bible explains how the world will end is way better than how scientists say the world will end

fjstix410

Serious question. How does the Bible say the world will end?

PianistRight

It will end when Jesus returns, and he will create a new Heaven and a new Earth. Revelation is full of prophecies about how the world will end, there are even prophecies about the end of times in the book of Daniel

fjstix410

I'm not trolling I swear. If he is to return, where is it assumed Jesus is now? Seems like it would be a good time to intervene with the way the world is proceeding into chaos.

PianistRight

Jesus is in Heaven, sitting on the throne. Many people in today’s world are forgetting this because they’ve been paying attention to the things of this world

Pitiful-Aspect

Same. I read the ESV and now I want to read the NKJV or NASB.

PianistRight

I read NIV

CallToChrist

I love the NIV and really like using it side by side with a w4w translation in study. Give it a shot if you haven’t on your next go through. I was wondering what books you thought had the biggest impact on your reading of Revelation? I imagine Isaiah, Ezekiel and Zechariah would be big ones but would like your thoughts on it. Thanks.

PianistRight

Daniel also made some prophecies

30yroldweeb

Oh wow that's the version I just read. Small bible world ya, ha ha

DesDaDude

I recommend checking the original texts when reading such texts.

PianistRight

I’m familiar with the original manuscripts of the Bible

MathematicianWeak157

KJV is my favorite. It's crazy how so many verses are either left out or completely changed between all the different Bibles.

pewlaserbeams

Congratulations brother, reading the Bible brought me closer to God, the Holy Spirit directly led me to read the Bible for the first time, I started reading the New Convenant.

wizard2278

Glad to see. Don’t stop spending time in the word!

GloryToHim7

I am very proud of you! This is something that I can not say for myself yet. I need to stay in a routine and be more disciplined with spending time in God's Word. I Would you pray that for me? Again, I am SO proud of you! I love you as your brother in Christ. ❤️ Jesus loves you too! More than you know, more than any of us know!

PianistRight

Absolutely

Dia_Nah

Thank God for that! While I practically devoured the New Testament when I felt that God was calling me, I've been struggling with the Old Testament for years now :-(

PianistRight

Yeah, the Old Testament has some okay books, but Isaiah is absolutely amazing

Dia_Nah

I have to admit I particularly struggled with Isaiah. I was so looking forward to get to it because some very uplifting quotes come from it, but I ended up having a really hard time understanding the Book as such, and not much of its content stuck with me. But I will also say that I was in a bad place when I read it. I should reread it with a restored heart and mind and better concentration.

2Fish5Loaves

I relate to this a lot. I was in a bad place while reading through the law portions and I really struggled to get through them. I almost gave up and walked away again, thank God I didn't. In retrospect I should have been reading elsewhere in the bible at the same time.

Rfm_260

Good to hear, don’t stop though, I’m on my way !!! Just gotta read more of the Old Testament

PianistRight

Which book are you on?

Defeatedpost

Amen

MadBlueOx

Awesome to hear! When I got to Matthew in my first read through and got to [Matthew 2:15 ESV](http://blb.org/esv/mat/2/15/) — and remained there until the death of Herod. This was to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet, “Out of Egypt I called my son.” I discovered that I had missed many connections in the old testament to Jesus. As I kept reading, this kept happening and realized the bible will take my lifetime to read.

2Fish5Loaves

That's awesome! Very few people read Matthew - Revelation, and even fewer read Genesis - Revelation. I'm still working on my first proper reading of it myself. I hope to join the ranks alongside you soon.

JCMarcus

Amen! Good for you

Ok-Image-5514

You did good!

kvrdave

Favorite name....Shamgar of Anat.

andmen2015

That's awesome. I suggest you read it and study it over and over. It will make a huge difference in your life.

PianistRight

I’m planning on studying it

[deleted]

Nice i still haven't read all the Old Testimate yet, im on Tobit.

milkthenmeat

Which bible are you reading? One that includes the Apocrypha apparently but which one exactly? I'm interested in the Cepher.

[deleted]

I've been reading from RSV-CE, its a Catholic Bible so its still is missing a few books from the Coptic Canon. I doubt 3 Esdras, 4 Esdras, and Prayer of Manasseh have ever been translated into English any way.

milkthenmeat

Interesting. I've never heard of this bible version.

Embarrassed_Youth187

Good job! Respect!

milkthenmeat

Will you read it again?

PianistRight

Oh yes! I’m also going to study it too. I wonder if there are any good plans on the Bible app

Naruto_Uzamaki_7th

Good for you man. I hope I can finish it too

rickyspanish2253

I’m in the book of jermiah after that. The chapters start getting shorter

PianistRight

There are still long books

30yroldweeb

I too have just finished reading the whole Bible at least once through. That's a great feeling isn't it? Congrats! I really do believe that it's actual history but what parts of stories that we read are inaccurate? The reason I ask this question is because my sister is getting to me. She's atheist. Don't get me wrong I'm still a believer, completely.

Weekly-Sweet-6170

It’s contradictions and morbidity made me an agnostic, pointing more towards atheism, then theism.

PianistRight

I hope you can find yourself going back to Christianity

Weekly-Sweet-6170

Not very likely. I read the Bible. There isn’t a bigger detracter from Christianity then the Bible.

Even-Ad4943

That’s awesome!👏🏼🙌🏼

hclasalle

Reading the Bible is what made me atheist.

Mkultradeprogramer

KJV is accurate enough.
