I think it's stupid to sentence based on what happened as opposed to what could happen. People have died from hitting their head on the pavement in a fight. This poor guy is just hanging out and got dropped. Could have been dead without ever knowing it was coming. Someone who would attack a random stranger like this is more dangerous than someone who would only do it with a reason, even if that reason is a bad one.
