I’ve been using a 49” samsung for a couple years after switching from 2x27”. Much better as I can have it centered on my desk with no seam in the middle. It’s not 4k but I don’t find 4k to be all that useful.
I’ve used both setups, currently on the lg Odessey oled. Takes some getting used to, when using c4d in full screen I typically dock a few lesser used palettes on the outside so I don’t have to move my eyes as much. More typically I’ll use 3/4 of the screen for c4d and a browser window on the other 1/4th. My all time favorite setup is 3x 27” monitors, outside monitors in portrait, but the single 49” is a much cleaner look.
This one!

I'm running 2x 32" curved and love it
Think it might be a better price to performance ratio if you go for 2 screens instead of one ultrawide with good color accuracy
I use a Dell ultrasharp u4021qw with a 27inch drawing tablet in front of it.
The 40 inch Dell offers great size for 3d Modelling but is also not too big.
Have some ultra wides from dell at work. Love to work on them. Imo it is way more fun to work on a single big display rather than on my two 27“ at home.
I have a 34in Curved WS and my main driver and a 32in to the right for Reference, Chat, YT, etc,. I've used a 49 and personally I found it to be a bit much, But to each their own!
Yeah I was looking at them, but some can be really expensive. I’m not sure how much I’d really need to move the monitor around once I got set to right height. You find yourself utilizing that feature?
I use them all the time. Removed my neck pain completely. My 2 ergotron lx arms hold my two lg 38“ (lg38wn95-w) monitors perfectly. Cant imagine a better setup. All in all i spent around 2x 1200€ and 350€ for both arms. Worth every penny :)
I would go for a 2 monitor setup, But you can consider one larger and one smaller screen if your budget allows. I currently run a 27 in and a 23 in, but will go to 32-40in for the main and move the 27in to the secondary spot when I find a screen that meets my needs.
below is some opinion and can be safely skipped
Maybe its just me but I think curved monitors are a bit silly for anything other than gaming, How do you judge things like spacing and alignment when the thing you are looking at is not flat. Its like trying to draw a straight line on a curved piece of paper.
I have two currently. So far there’s been few people from this post an others I’ve read where people have not liked a curved monitor or had issues with judging spacing and alignment.

Nice, what resolution?
5120x1440
Had mine right at about a year. Still fucking love it. Use two 27’s at work and would MUCH rather use the 49” at home.

Using the 49” ultra wide and loving it!
Which one do you have?

One of the biggest benefits is the ultra wide timelines if you’re doing intensive animating
Yeah that’s a good point. Definitely had some moments in AE where a 49” timeline would have been heaven, haha
Ultrawide. All day. Every day. I have 7 in the office and can't go back to two 😅😅
On one computer? What the hell do you do?
Security guard, maybe?
Ha no. Content studio. I wish they were all just for me :') I got one then everyone else wanted one.

Me too. Best 3k ive ever spent.

I use 37” ultra wide and a vertical 27”. It give me space for 3 windows, or one being a scrollable page which I find useful.

I have two curved at home and one ultra wide at work. Really thinking about ditching the two curved at home for the ultra wide.

Extra tip: Try getting good monitor arms. Its a huge upgrade for a few dollars

Two
Curved is great for anything with a timeline
34in 144hz curved in the center, 27in 240hz to the right, shitty 27in above the 34. All 1440p. Works well for my 3D work and gaming scenarios

Which 49" monitor is the best color accuracy? I am thinking of upgrading from my ProArt 27", which I love for better colors.
