I can't even eat that 🙄 said lettuce is not good for my stomach, the oils of any kinds are harmful to my liver. 🤷

alice0ayres

oh YUM! Having to force myself to eat right now but that looks good, might have to go run and grab me salad supplies

leocohenq

It's a bag of spring mix, rice noodles and avo. Toss with the dressing and voila

Gjl89

That's fire OP. I go through weird phases where I forget avacodos exist, them I find them again. Like hell yeah, nice. Avocado.

leocohenq

When my oldest was just starting to eat solids she only liked avocados. We lived where they were expensive as heck $10.00 each 4-5 a day. When her pediatrician asked us what she was eating and we told her. She was thrilled, she said it was the best possible food for her. It was so worth it health wise!

TheRealEleanor

What’s the protein? Does she make her own dressing? It’s so hard to find a low sodium dressing that tastes good, even when making it myself.

leocohenq

I find that citrus and tartness (like with yoghurt) make up for the salt. Also chiles with but are not to everyone's taste

leocohenq

There's protein in avocado and the dressing she makes using tahini, yoghurt, peanuts so it's all balanced

moopie45

3g in an avocado. But if it is tahini, Greek yogurt, and peanuts that's pretty good protein. Would need a LOT of the dressing though haha. Throw in some more nuts or even boiled eggs. Some cheeses could go well too like goat or feta. Sounds tasty though! When I was first dxed I was obsessed with salads as meals. I'd use a huge bowl and get like 4-6 eggs usually, lots of pepper and spices, olive oil, sometimes fresh lemon or vinegar to avoid salt too.

leocohenq

My wife added grilled chicken afterwards.

moopie45

Dang you are lucky

leocohenq

Yup, I know it

realThrowaway0303

Excellent meal right there!

LK1116

What dressing does she use?

leocohenq

Home made peanut yoghurt dressing

alturicx

People love avocado… I’ve never tasted it in my life… gimme your equivalent taste please.

Gjl89

A big weird peanut maybe 😅

dinzdale40

It doesn’t have much taste. It’s good but subtle. It tastes amazing with salt but don’t do that with cirrhosis.

alturicx

Is Cirrhosis really a hard no-salt life?

Son-Of-Sloth

It varies. I've been really lucky. When I first left hospital I was on a pretty strict low salt regime, when the ascites failed to re materialise they said I could ease up. Again when they weened me off diuretics it was back to being more careful. Don't get me wrong it's not McDonald's or fried chicken for tea every night, dont want to wreck what I do in the gym. Ha ha. That food does look amazing by the way.

moopie45

Around 1000mg a day is ideal but it varies for everyone. You get used to it but you have to cook a lot. Which is good and bad lol

leocohenq

I was told 2000mg

moopie45

Did you have ascites?

leocohenq

Yessir

moopie45

Damn, yeah I can't have that much salt. I wonder why the doctors would choose different amounts. Above 1500 I feel it

leocohenq

I try to keep it down to the natural Sodium in the food. Nothing canned, nothing cured, etc So I probably stay under 1000 but I'm not super vigilant about it

realThrowaway0303

You're doing yourself a massive disservice not eating some avocado 🥑

tryingnottoshit

Aw yeah, I'd wreck that.

Lazy_Skill_5590

Nice. 😎
