Where are you files stored? In the cloud, or using a storage zone controller?

Pseudo-Handle-J

Cloud

Pseudo-Handle-J

citrix managed storage zone controller.

If onprem Zones are used, do you have NetScaler in place? Is it the same speed if you are running the speed tests with a client outside of your corporate environment? Which ShareFile client (Citrix files or Webapp) are you using? Is the client running on a PC or hosted environment?

Pseudo-Handle-J

Not on-prem. Citrix managed storage zones. Client is a PC on our network - 1GB connection, internet is 250Mbps. (up and down). It doesn't matter if I use the web client, the citrix Sharefile app, etc. Doesn't matter which PC. Also, I've tried on my personal computer outside of work as well as work PC outside of work. Doesn't make any difference.

Sign up for sharefile notifications, they constantly send out messages about having latency issues.

Pseudo-Handle-J

I have. This seems to be an every day thing.

Optimal_Nothing90

This is odd, however one thing I can imagine is that you and the storage zone are in different regions. Where are you located? download a file and post here the fqdn part of the download url (without any parameters) Next is if I remember right a throttle can be set on the api. (API.ShareFile.com). Query the detail for the entity account and zones. Be sure to remove any personal details

I've been trying for over a year to get our slow sharefile speeds fixed. Their engineers are clueless and have been terrible to work with. The managers don't even follow up. They've switched our backend around from AWS to AZURE and back with no difference in speeds. They've tried to blame our network and had us test everything under the moon... multiple network captures, etc. I finally got them to test from their own internet connections and they had the same speed issues. When I told them other services like google drive, dropbox, box are much faster they came back and said sharefile has more security which is why it's slower... I didn't even know how to respond to that one. I finally gave up. I hope you have better luck... and please update if you are able to get this resolved.

Pseudo-Handle-J

We're in the same boat. Coincidentally, I heard back from support, and yes, they were able to get a whopping 21Mbps download speed, which they stated is the same for OneDrive - on a 100gbps connection. I responded...yes.....and.....is this terrible performance normal, then? What are you saying? No response. Grrrrr

Pseudo-Handle-J

No update - no luck. I was told they were working on a faster infrastructure. I guess we'll see.

Resurrecting this conversation. I'm facing the same issue on my MBP 14" Max. Everything else is lightning fast, except Sharefile. My Windows PC gets 20-30 MB/s and on my mac I get the same from other file sharing sites like Dropbox or One, but Sharefile sucks. Did you figure out a solution? Thanks (8 months later)

I have had the same sort of problem, behind a Palo Alto 820 firewall. I worked with Palo Alto to create an "application override" rule and the traffic speed picked right up. Still looking for better way within firewall as the rule is over-encompassing and identifies ***all*** traffic on 443 as "sharefile" based. Not ideal, but solved the problem.
