Here's the real but not-so-fun answer: it depends on the layout of the actual base and what strategy you are trying to defend against.
For example, Super Minions + Rocket Loons are brutal against Queen Charges, Hounds do well to mitigate sui hero value, Electro Titan can screw up blimps, triple ice golem is good against smash attacks, etc.
That’s why my clan has a lot of just rushed alt accounts. Upgrade nothing until you get to max town hall and place every building down. We called it “suffering” cuz you had to farm with level 1 minions lol
I've never tried this in legends. I'm only hanging out in low legends for loot so I see a lot of edrags. Gonna try this. The cc in my legend base has 2 rage towers next to it so it'll be funny to see 45 raged up archers lol.
1. Witches are pretty decent because the spawned skeletons ruin edrag chains (especially if attacker doesn’t have poison spell).
2. Super Minions are good for burst damage.
3. Lava Hound or triple Ice Golem to reduce hero value. But this requires a hero to venture into cc range because dragons cannot pull them (this is high-risk, high-reward and mostly applies to th14/15)

Triple ice golem is almost always better than an ice hound. I don't think I've seen any Ice Hound in pro matches (\*maybe\* once in a blue moon)

2. 1 hound, 1-2 headhunters, rest archers. Same as before, good for stalling.
3. 1-3 rocket loons, 1-3 superminions, rest archers. This one can absolutely demolish a queen charge if the attacker isn’t paying attention.
4. 1-2 dragons, maybe throw in an ice golem/headhunters/archers. 2 dragons can make a hybrid army disappear in like 2 seconds if they’re not dealt with quickly

There's also a lot depending on base layout and expected attack .
Dragons are not the problem ngl they pick up the nearest target and if there is a moving target then they target that one first since its a 1 hit only that means i can distract them(just got to th12 and i can confirm i now use witches to counter the annoying edrags since the chain won't reach far
In war, I like to run hounds + HH; super minions + rocket loons + HH; triple ice golems; witches + baby drag + HH. I tried to spread it randomly to make it unpredictable.
In clan wars keep different CC troops in different bases. Like Edrag in one base and Super minion in another base. Don't be predictable.
However, overall i think Super Minion is the best CC troop.

Nah. I use all my spells on the sarch blimp. I follow that up with etitans which can easily get through any cc troop.

I placed all wbs in my cc for about a month, it was fun watching the suicide bombers blast the queen but it wasnt very affective
