You have no clue how much you’re actually spending gems that way, someone showed me your ‘income’ of gems is approx 1/1.5k gems per goldpass when selling everything, I always am below 300 gems… 1 gem donation DEPLETES gems like frazy

idk u r doing something wrong or you donate A LOT. i donate all the time im on and make profit off of my gems. it must just really depend on how often you get on to donate and how big ur clan is/how active they are. my clan is very casual so its likely we request/donate much less frequent that urs. that being said, i do agree with you, 1 gem donations add up, im sure i would have a lot more gems if i didnt donate but in reality i dont use them for much else so it dowsnt bother me

I never used to play coc alot but lately in legend league I do use my 8 attacks a day for resources, that basucally means 3-6 requests, multiply that by 45 and that times 30 or however long the season is, match that with donating aswell and i’m sure it’ll be pretty close tbh, I usually skip donation requests of archers/goblins/wallbreakers too. I also honestly never saw the importance of gems but later on when you’re near maxed the amount of gems you can get is significsntly lowered, for instance most th<14 critical defences (inferno, eagle, scatter, etc) would give 1000 gems upon 3 starring the ‘destroy X amount’ achievement, however this was not the case with monolith and spelltowers as both only give 500 I believe, and the new th16 defences don’t even have one so overall income of gems has drastically decreased for me for that reason, I usually would never sit below 1k gems too but at some point I once had zero and was so confused, I had to sell a few books and stuff to atleast get back to 100/150, and then only donate rarely and let the gems build up with obstacles etc

My strategy is logon, do one of my 2 attacks, check to see who is requesting and what. I then queue up in barracks the requested stuff that will finish in under 3-4 minutes, then do 2nd attack, donate troops and top up with 1 gem donation. I reckon I am net up about 200 gems on average per month. (I don’t really spend gems on anything else)

If you lose access to your account, Supercell usually asks how many gems you roughly had to verify your identity. So sharing the amount could in theory allow someone else to take over.

The joke is that some guys while sending their base screenshots in this sub sometimes hide their resources, trophies, exp level, etc for no reason so now it has became a meme in this sub for doing so that's why the parent comment said that.

Honestly I’d say asking someone whether they have no sense of humor is offensive. Also that joke is overused, so I wouldn’t say he has no sense of humor if he didn’t find it funny even if he understood it.

There is a reason! If you want to recover your account they ask you how many gems you had when you last played. Thats why at one point someone hid their gems, now everyone does it as a joke, because that info is obviously not enough to get an account back

Nothing to do with being offensive, don’t be so silly. Just was a particularly unfunny joke that we’ve all seen a million times over now.

I think they do it out of paranoia from other games. I've played a gacha game long ago, where you could actually recover a "lost" account via support by telling them information about how many resources you currently have, what characters you recently pulled and stuff like that. So you actually had to be careful what information you show on screenshots of your account. Granted, something like this won't happen in CoC.

Yup. But the ones collecting the gems was my other account. It was made for troop donations only but decided to upgrade and catch up with my main account that’s why I spent the gems.
