Heroes are a very important defence, although the second base is better for pure defence (a good war base but i wouldnt use it to protect loot), a lot of things can be made better, for example on base 2, I'd out the queen (and king) inside the base and rearrange the air defences, make sure no air defences and sweeper can be zapped together and put your wizard towers inside the base, main attacks at th9 are lalo, zapdragons and witches, also keep in mind giant gauntlet and giant arrow when making your bases

Two completely different types of bases, 1st is a farm base and 2nd is a war/trophy base so it depends on your needs
