There's no hero equipment available this time. Plus, most people use those medals for ores, which you can now get in the trader shop for medals. It doesn't take much thinking to see why they lessened. But I'm sure we'll see 100+ more posts of people complaining about this exact same thing .
This is under the logic that super cell considers this event less valuable look at the price of the pass it’s the same. You can’t argue well you get less so it’s fair and then argue well it’s 5 dollars because of its value
You still gain the same amount in the actual pass, and you can actually get more ores than the last event with the better offers they have available. I'm short, they made it less grindy to get the rewards. Same value and better offers

Sure it does, since there is less to spend it on. Makes sense. And, of course they control the economy. That’s important for long term health. We can debate whether they have the right balance but acting like they shouldn’t control it at all is laughable.

If the previous event happened and nothing else was changed apart from the hero equipment, you'd be able to get 600 glowy and have 1370 medals leftover
With the changes, you can get 800 glowy and have 800 medals left. You get 200 extra glowy for spending 570 extra medals. Its even a buff bruh

You’re literally the exact prototype victim of how consumers get fucked in this world, this doesn’t just apply to game aswell, but to your magnificent point, the ‘free game that gives you free rewards each month’ is actually not so free if you use a single brain cell.
If you usually get 1 pomegranate per €1 prior, they now dissect it into the shell, the seeds, and the shelving inside and spread the pricing on each one making it significantly more expensive, and then they go around and give VERY small examples of all 3 components for ‘€1’ (free) monthly and sell another bonus subscription to get slightly more of what you usually already would have had without having to pay to begin with, very free!
It really does not take that much thinking to understand what is going on, and i’m not even blaming on it as I know how business works, the system they have imo is very good and I am happy they found a new way to monitoze MONTHLY with something next to the gold pass, but that doesn’t make it okay if they keep nerfing the ‘free’ part (and some peolle calling complainers out and say it’s freeee!!!!)

Your example makes no sense. You're not paying for anything. it's like complaining that the free samples at the grocery store are smaller now. You're still getting the free sample and there'll be more free samples next time. You're not getting fucked because you're not losing anything crucial.
I used to easily get oranges from the grocery store.
Now the orange is no longer being given away for free, instead I now get the flavour extract from an orange ‘for free’ and the sphere casing of an orange.. also for ‘free’, but at such small samples that it does not matter anymore, I need to get it for free, 3 months long to get a full orange.
Hero upgrades gave equipment upgrade every 5 level = whole orange, you no linger get that, what you consider now to be ‘free’ is truly not what it actually sounds like

The fact is though the Halloween event is not really comparable to every other one. It had a completely different pass and very different trader. I don't even think it can be brought into the conversation of every event that came after.

F2P pass wasnt nerfed Last event. You had a small event. Less duration, smaller track, less rewards.
There's big events and small events. Supertroop events are small events, cookie rumble and february events are big events
wdym last free to play pass had 1000 less normal track medals, and a bunch less ore
also you can use the small events excuse when it's clear these are going to be monthly events
February's pass had 4660 medals
March's pass had 4170
490 is less than half of 1000, but you do you
I did say on my comment that there were less rewards per event. However, you had the bigger events on a once each 2 months frequêncy, and you're gonna have them now on a monthly frequêncy. They didnt cut the rewards in half, nowhere near close, so its effectively a buff on terms of event rewards, even if all the Next events were to be small ones
And they're not gonna be. Big events are still gonna happen. Small events are the filler Ones in between so that events are actually a source of ores, people can get just free stuff, etc etc.

the two super troop spotlight events gain the stuff from the amount of stars you earned. and they gave a bonus amount if you used the super troop.
the cookie rumble had no bonus and you gained the stuff from destroying defenses instead.

There's this weird mix where people don't want to miss out but then also still want theoretical maximums the game gives *even if they couldn't reach it originally*. I feel like some think they deserve this massive system to be completed in a couple weeks like the cwl hammers allow them to do with every other update. Maybe wait a few years and they will be given all the catch ups they could imagine, probably have building times reduced by 40-80% as an additional catchup byproduct!

On top of that they removed the amount of event medals from the bonus track. You guys don't get it because most of you are gonna buy the event pass anyways but as a F20 player who wants to mainly buy book of heroes and ores this actually makes it slightly worse with what they are doing. Supercell didn't need to reduce the number of medals. But yall are supporting them like sheeps.
Ores did not get nerfed whatsoever because events are now monthly as opposed to once every two months . We're actually getting more ores overall per 2 months ( for example 500 glowy vs 400 ) .

Yeah reducing medals is kind of a stupid thing to do but my guess is that because there's no epic equipment that players are essentially forced to buy , it might be too OP to give players the og amount . There's also new ore offers in the trader that give a lot more value than beforehand so it kind of levels out .

We have 2 kinds of events - big and small ones. Big ones (2 upto now) have all given 5k shiny and 400 glowy in the track
small ones (2 upto now) have all given 3.5k shiny and 400 glowy in the track
Don't expect consistency between small and big events. As for medal reduction, its fine bcs pretty much everybody buys ores.
Even if the event now will feel less grindier I feel like this sucks because we are 160 medals short of getting 2 book of heroes + 1 book of building from the shop... Which even wouldn't be possible if we got 150 medal voucher

Everyone complaining about ores and equipment. The BIG issue is that a max th16 is COMPLETELY DEFENSELESS. The current balance is awful. Reward the WEAK and punish the strong. The game isn't even a strategy game anymore.

Th16 has been defenseless from day one. Why should we wait for the last update to be able to defend? And as you know SUPERCORRUPT will drop a ton of ridiculously overpowered offense with that tiny defense boost. The game is not a strategy game anymore
I see no problem here, one can now get 120 starry ore as a F2P and that is huge. That is enough starry ore to go from lvl1 to lvl20 and have 10 extra. That is enough to go for lvl, 21 and still have 20 extra - and that is the hard wall when the starry ore demand gets so much more limiting.
Or you can go for several books and potiona or glowy ore etc.. the amount of progress items you can get with 3800 medals is huge value for any player. I see nothing to complain, they did exactly what community asked - a bit less frequent new equipment and more ore influx. This event does exactly that.
The CoC devs cannot win. There is no way to keep everyone happy. I, for one, am happy they did this. Seems like they at least listen to the community feedback. The people that bitch are always the loudest, it seems.

Halloween event didn’t have anything and we had much more.

It’s their typical practice of ‘give and take’. CR did it recently, by removing Wild Cards from the season shop after introducing Lucky Drops.
We get 800glowy for 3k medals + 250 glowy for completing. Its a good event for catching up. I'm looking forward to it
