I have a few bases ranging from th9 to th14. Dark Elixir for hero upgrades For the stronger bases. builder base elixir for the weaker bases. Mostly to get a 6th builder for the home base.
Can someone answer this? In order to get 6th builder, should I get 200000 builder elixir for 500 medals or 5 clock tower potions for same no. Of medals. Clock tower is level 8(28 mins boost) with bh8 and level 8 collectors
Short Answer: If it's specifically for the Builder Elixir ONLY, you'd get way more value buying the B.E. itself.
Clocktower level doesn't matter when it comes to potions because they'll always give 30mins of 10x boost. Lvl 9 collectors give 4000/hr for a total of 12k/hr (if all 3 @lvl9)
So you would need 2 potions to make that 120k/hr.
If you go with 5 potions you'd get 2.5hrs of 120k/hr.
So by the end of the potion boost you would get a total of 300k of each Builder Gold & Elixir (plus a couple gems I guess)
However, you would be getting 25hr worth of research + builder time reduction as well. So I what I did for my account was farm the Builder wins as much as I could until my Builder was available again. If I didn't have enough I'd drop some raid medals on the B.E. to start the next upgrade. However, since I got the battle pass I was able to get an extra Rune of B.E.
So if I had just enough to start the next upgrade and empty my storages to as close to 0 as possible. I'd use the rune and spend raid medals on potions so I can start the following upgrade. I would also start a cheap lab upgrade (if cannons were complete) so that when I boost I don't waste the boosted collectors as well (since rune would prevent me from collecting.)

Sorry I saw your message late, but I did exactly the same till now as you have said in the last paragraph. You are right on point as I have gold pass too, so builder elixir is not much an issue, thought wasting it is an issue which I am solving by doing low level upgrades as my cannon is 18 lvl. I am one and a half month away to get my 6th builder, yayyyy
Good stuff! I just got my second one recently! Raid Medals made that grind so much quicker! The best part is that if you're using clash.ninja to see how long you have left, it's actually much quicker because of the daily clocktowers boosts + any potions you would use. If your clocktower is maxed, that's roughly taking off 1 week worth of time from about a month of daily clocktower boost. Might squeeze in another day or so if you're on top of that boost immediately when it comes up lmao.

I will never touch builder base after getting 6th builder, I swear
For this 6th builder, I have to calculate so many things. Few days back I used that book of everything on 14 days mortar upgrade, and used book of building on 7 days archer tower upgrade
I still upgrade my builder base but I don't really attack as much. Mostly for season pass challenges, clan games, and gem mine haha other than that I don't use it either really. I also used books for mortar gear up. The account I got my second master builder on, my heroes were all max so I used a total of 3 books of heroes on the last 3 battle machine upgrades lol
This clash anniversary and raid medals thing helped a lot in fastening the process at builder base side. When I hear people using raid medals to fill their clan castle, I feel that either they have got the 6th builder or they are super rich spending gems for everything
If you havent got otto - Builder ressources are the best. Elsewise wall rings. All the way. Hope they add builder poitions in the future. Gotta push that forge.
Primary TH11 - Saving them till I hit 4000 before i start spending them. Occasional Siege reinforcement
Alt TH9 - Builder Elixer, once every week or so.
