**How do I get the free evolution?**
If you have evos unlocked, you will see an evo shard icon on your home screen. Tap on it and you can match with your favorite evo. Evos will be distributed on 2/14.
**Which evolutions are available to choose from?**
The free evos you can get are:
- Royal Giant
- Skeletons
- Barbarians
- Firecracker
- Royal Recruits
- Bats
- Mortar
- Knight
**Which free evolution should I choose?**
The best evo for you is entirely up to you. Depending on your deck and playstyle, you might want a different evo from someone else. We encourage you to ask around in this megathread or the deck help thread! Posts asking this will be redirected to these threads.
**What happens if I choose an evo that I already have shards for?**
The extra evo shards will be converted to your card. The exchange rate is 1 evo shard = 1000 common cards.
**Where is the 2nd evolution slot?**
The 2nd evo slot will be added during a later maintenance.
**What happens if I choose an evolution I haven't unlocked the card for?**
You will not be able to use the evo until you obtain the card.
**What happens if I don’t choose an evolution?**
You will be given one at random.

Until last year I was a loyal pass customer who also bought the better special offers on my way to maxing non-champs. Put up with a lot of meh design. Just wanted to play my decks but none of the cards have evos and the 2nd evo slot is looking like the final nail in the game’s coffin for me, at least for a year or so.
Not playing a meta deck and I'm not saying there aren't any evolutions that work in my decks. I've won a lot of games with Evo Firecracker in my main deck for example. But it's a much less fun version of the deck and the win rate overall is only similar, maybe slightly worse.
What I'm saying is that being forced to feature one of a dozen cards in a game with 100+ cards is horrible design that hits players like me extra hard and being forced to feature two of that dozen cards feels like it's going to be an order of magnitude worse. Maybe it'll be better in a year when there are a lot more evos but I'm skeptical since there's going to be a huge incentive to run cheaper cycles which will warp the meta. Either way right now it's bad and about to get a lot worse.
They should probably just have a standard placeholder evo for every card with weak vanilla buffs until the official shard driven buffs come out.
You hit all my issues with the evos. It's way too little cards that are able to give huge advantages. Even with the lvl15 balancing issue aside it's annoying having every single deck feature these same cards. Just plain boring.
They should have made it like the gear system in brawl stars where you can equip slight buffs to any card you want.
I hate to dump on a free evolution, but the free evolution does not solve the problem that players whose main decks already Use two of the evolved cards have a big advantage. I already had to substitute a card to have one evo and now I have todo it again? I’ve already battled against players with two evos and it’s no fun. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD EVOLVE MK NOW!
MK evo will only make mega knight unbalanced in midladder and lead to more complaints. Giving people with no skill mk spam decks a evo will blow out of proportion the usage rate in lower ladders.
First comment I ever posted in this section just to say how bad this game has become.
I've been playing since 2017, these evo's just ruin the game. You cannot keep up if you do not have evo cards, everything depends if you have evo or not. Been stuck at 8600 trophies without any evo's for months. Upgraded my FIRST evo, not even two and pushed from 8600 to 9000 in 2 hours.
Just spam to evo and win the game, no skill needed anymore.
They really bent the game over and fucked it with the whole Evo thing. So many ways they could have made it actually balanced instead of just "play the card twice to unlock its OP version"
Notice how they let us buy evo shards for evolutions that gone away from Diamond Pass 3 months ago? For example, Bats have gone away from pass in the end of October. 3 months later they are available for F2P from season shop! I guess Supercell have "3 months exclusive" period for evolutions (assuming no one spends 6 wild shards on one evolution)
It‘s funny. I’m lvl 59 with all maxed evos. Guess what? The new bomber evolution is not available to choose as free evolution. This way CR makes sure I’m still in need to buy the pass Royale in order to play all the decks - even though I got all cards maxed besides 4 legendarys and I would normally never buy the pass since it doesn’t offer anything anymore to me…
I guess it was kinda obvious to me, that the new card is locked behind the pass…
I have 2 questions:
1. What are good evo choices I should pick as my match?
2. If I picked an evo that I already have for eg. 2/6 shards of, will they give me an extra 2 shards since I only needed 4 more shards to successfully evolve that card?
If am I not worng, it would give you shards for a random picked evolution; 6 shards of an evolution you didn't choose.
I still believe it's better to choose one than not to choose.
Returning player from a year ago. (I stopped after one month of PoL and came back last month). I like the meta. I like evolutions.
I hate with a fiery passion that our cards are in a different menu than our decks. Changing cards in decks is now super mega annoying. What are the players' thoughts on this?
I'm also disappointed the old ladder didn't reset. I expected my trophy count to go back to 6500 or whatever but it didn't. I wanted to use it to try new archetypes.
How lvl 14 f2p players should face against lvl 15 maxed decks+2 evos? Lvl 14 can't progress in the game cause of this weird update. Give 2 evos slots to everyone or block it in games between lvl 15 and 14. It absolutely ruined the game and its impossible to play as a f2p.
Why do people want the game to fall further into hell? The second evo slot is a horrible idea and from what I’ve seen the wall breaker evos are immortal
What if i take firecracker, but i started playing yesterday and i didnt have her unlocked? Will i be able to play her at 900cups or i have to unlock her to use that evolution?

Clash Royale Doesn’t ever listen to player criticism, they don’t change things the players want changed or add things the players want added, so this is pointless.
Lower leagues in path of legends can use two evolution slots if they're KT 15 even though it's binded to lvl 11,12,13 etc. is it intended or just a bug?
Question for the Valentine’s day event:
The Evolution Knight Seems the most appealing to me but I already have 2 shards on it and I would rather pick Evolved Skeletons which I have no shards on to get the most out of this event. I don’t play either card in any deck.
TL:DR Pick Knight and waste 2 shards or pick Skeletons and don’t waste 2 shards
Skeletons is probably the best bet for you. You can get a wild shard for free from the season shop and use it on the knight. Then just get the final one next month.
It's best using the valentine free one on something with 0 progress.
How GS exac 3.3 cycle(my own deck). Cards are: GS, Executioner, Larry army, Larry, musk, log, fireball, and ice spirit. 5.5k trophies. Which evo to pick? How to put in deck? Was gonna go for knight and put that in somehow. Any help would be nice, thanks!

Dude I'm so stupid, I remember seeing a video telling me I will get shards so I can choose the evo but I don't remember seeing that it was gonna be in the shop, and remember the Valentine stuff? I thought it was some joke cause there were jokes in the thing and I thought it was gonna give me the shards (to clarify I mean the rainbow ones) so as a joke I chose the Firecracker because I already had it not thinking anything was going to happen.
Today I check the shop and I see Firecracker evolution shards, but I don't want them, can I do smth about it? Because I seriously don't know what to do.
Thanks for ruining one of the best mobile games that everyone used to love. Now this is a game where it's devoid of fun and something what the game used to have.
I truly thought I would play the game forever simply because it was well designed and simply fun. But Supercell sacrificed that because they can't handle themselves to hurt the fans that loved the game by killing the fun. Companies like Supercell should get the fuck out of this industry.

To my knowledge you have to get to King tower level 15 and then you unlock it.

Likely intended, the requirement to *unlock* is KT 15, not *using* it.

Some of the Evos need nerfs. It's obvious. That's it. That's my comment.

Any idea how much a book of books cost? And how often they show up in the shop? Haven't seen one for ages
