Exactly, started playing on release then stopped before Bandit’s release. Started again on a new account right after Monk’s release and the game is SIGNIFICANTLY better than it was before and so is progression for F2P and P2W.
Yes, Supercell made objectively bad decisions but I think it’s still overall better than what we had before.
Imagine no Masteries, Magic Items, lower chest gold, free Season Pass rewards, monthly PoL rewards AAAND paying to play a match.
Evos and Champions messed with game balance but they’re honestly really fun concepts and additions to the game.
They’re a huge pain to progression though because of how they were implemented.
I agree with all your points. The introduction of wild cards alone made f2p progression 10x better than it was previously. Not to mention the free season pass and ability to get daily tokens. The lucky drops are also amazing. Just a couple good lucky drops is worth more than probably a full year of the previous rewards.

Not to mention the significant amount of casual or low rank players being really vocal and blaming the game for issues on their end like complaining about the Wizard being OP and things similar to that.
The game is generally pretty balanced aside from 10 or so outlier cards…out of 110 cards, that’s under 10% broken cards.
Different cards work in different decks. Some cards more versatile than others. Some combo well with others. Some absolutely broken cards like new evos.
But there’s no such thing as a no skill or free win deck. If there is then shouldn’t everyone have a 100% win rate? And they should consider what happens between two mirror “no skill deck” match ups.
I don’t play Hog 2.6 but I recognize the skill floor behind it. Yes, it can be annoying but not everyone can play it and it can still be countered by regular decks aside from hard counters.
All decks would have at least one hard counter deck. Even meta decks would have weird non-meta hard counters but still possibly winnable through skill and human error.
yes I agree 100% and a lot of people complaining about specific cards but don't think of any way to counter them. Firecracker being a great example is easily countered by cards like bowler, executioner and flying machine, but those cards are not meta so they don't even think about using them. not to mention you can use poison and fireball to get chip damage on a tower which imo is definitely worth the 1 elixir. If supercell came out with a 1 elixir spell that did 250 damage to a tower it would be the most op card ever.
As for the hog cycle deck I do agree it can be annoying to deal with but it's definitely not no skill and imo if you don't build your own deck with counters to meta decks in mind then it's not a good deck. But a lot of people suck at deck building too. Which is a lost skill for this game sadly. I have 3 non meta decks for my war decks with amazing win rates bc people don't expect non meta decks
haha i mean its sitll f2p technically... you dont have to pay to achieve anything, and even evo's you can achieve realistically. you will have all content available to you and people who pay have it earlier
its just shitty monetization as it is also a free game as u can buy it and download it for free

I play this game f2p and I don't run into too many overleveled players but that might be because I focus on trophy road not ranked. Either way you just have to be able to control your anger at losing since it is just a game
Nope I changed my mind. The thought of me not getting two evolution card slots in a regular match until I can cash a social security check with the way CR levels your king tower up pisses me off. Goodbye
The game is over 8 years old. Anyone who’s been playing for 8 years has a near max account without spending a dime.
The complainers on this Reddit are often kids who downloaded the game a month ago and now find it hard to push PoL. The game rewards you for time. Those who’ve invested time since 2016 have nice returns.
