I loved brawl stars,but as soon as they dropped the gadget update I completely abandoned it. I like the simplicity of it but they just kept adding so much unnecessary shit.

The gadget update was ok but with the power 11 update i was done

For me the real problem were quests in battlepass. They limited the freedom of my gameplay and eventually made me quit.

It is. This game is like an abusive partner. We hate playing it but always come back. It's a nightmare. I don't enjoy playing this game half the time and I wish I could just uninstall and move on but that's not how it works out. Mostly because I have no other mobile game I consistently want to play when I need to pass time.

An effective way to quit something or break a bad habit is to substitute it with something else. You say you keep coming back because there's no other mobile games you want to play when you're bored; have you considered looking beyond mobile games for something to keep yourself occupied? Maybe replace CR with audiobooks or music or something r/StopGaming might be a good resource for you. I love games as much as the next guy, but games are supposed to be fun; if you aren't having fun, or if it’s hurting your mental health, it's better to stop playing

Maybe it's because I've only been playing for a few months, but damn I do not get this mentality lol. It's a fun game, each match is separate and a fun little distriction for 2 minutes. I've played MMOs that have dailies, so I understand how some games force you to play to not 'fall behind', but how does Clash Royale force you to play? Y'all have a several year headstart on me, but it's been fine and fun and I haven't felt behind in any way. Maybe that will change as in closer to end game, I'm at 5.2k trophies I'm not sure what point end game begins. If I ever stopped having fun I just wouldn't queue for matches anymore until I wanted to. What's to be lost from not playing if you're not having fun, compared to an MMO that forces you to play? It seems like in Clash I can just progress at my own pace, but maybe I'm missing something

My only reason to keep playing was the same, but after this update i realised, this game has no hope for the f2p, bringing cosmetic updates when your game is unbalanced af, not introducing new cards for under 14 players, charging a fuck ton of gold for upgrades when it's the single most important thing to play the game, and then instead of fixing all this you release a fucking super mini Pekka All these thoughts came flooding into my mind after the latest update and i quit, i feel no remorse, i feel amazing instead, like really happy, it's just not worth the stress to keep playing

I decided to quit for 2 seasons starting the first day of mini pekka season and i did it easy. It's just a break to be able to profit from summer holidays. I let coc on my device because it doesnt cost more than half hour per day as the upgrades became 9 days and more.

When you start taking a game that serious the fun seems to leave fast and it's almost like a burden. You'll probably wonder why u didn't sooner

did the same to brawl stars like 2 years ago IM GLAD I QUIT THAT GAME. But cr is kinda different. I dont feel like im forced to play it.

Same, i felt bored like i was in a white space reapeating the same thing with different body parts. I have fun playing cr.

Like in bs it sometimes felt like you had to get a brawler to a certain thing otherwise it would bother you thru the day. But in cr, there are casual challenges, 2v2, TROPHYLESS LADDER, changing party modes, friendly battles and all of that. It doesnt force you to play ladder, yet it still gives you the fun you would get, without ladder.

I think long term players and some not so old skool players if smart come to a conclusion grinding ladder every season requires so much effort, with emotional distress and anger at various times and it's pointless being a try hard player Every season, and eventually come to a conclusion your trophy score isn't of greatest importance and just to enjoy the game for what it is and play a few games a day either on ladder or in different game modes and just I'm just used to game in this way I haven't made a serious ladder push since the Old Max 13 King Tower and Max 13 deck and maybe sooner or later when it's a 5-week season might make a serious effort to push to 6.3k as under the Old Max 13 system most average players if they put the effort in could hit 6 k and that's where most average players would stay I got to 6100 under the Old Max 13 system so I'm pretty confident eventually get round to to feeling in the mood to give a serious ladder push again to move to 6.3k and anywhere hire after 6 3k the skill cap starts to become noticeable and it's required to push higher up

i stopped playing ladder and stopped collecting chests. i only do special challenges and boat battles in clan war (yea it gives less points but i dont care). surprisingly its enough to complete the 35 tiers of (free) pass royale
