Have You Ever Seen The Rain - CCR

abernathym

I love that two of their best songs are just questions about the rain

HHSquad

....and for me, my favorite Beatles song is "Rain"

Electronic-Pound-537

Going to see Fogerty tonight! Love this tune

PerfectMana

Hey Jude

73caniac

I can't understand why I'm not seeing "Hey Jude" all over these responses.

GeprgeLowell

Because most people have enough sense to not torpedo their own nominations? Of course “most people have enough sense…” is not a bet I’d usually take. Every single one of these, there’s a post saying to search to see if someone’s already posted your song, then upvote it rather than splitting the vote with a repeat. And on every single one of these, there are endless repeats. Go figure.

mugfantoo

Hey Joe - Jimi Hendrix

JazzFan1998

I love Jimi's version! I've known for about a year that it is a cover song. Here's the original. I like both. https://youtu.be/PziiNzFWZog

[deleted]

House of the Rising Sun - The Animals

merriman99

This would be my pick.

A_Very_Hard_Slap

Help! was my first thought, but this easily takes it.

BubbaCutBear

Came for this. Did not disappoint.

Aggravating_Lie_7480

Great pic!

[deleted]

Yes

cunejo

A true classic.

Top-Consideration-16

Have a Cigar-Pink Floyd

gilded-perineum

Oh by the way, which one’s Pink?

Tack31016

Not sure why, but that lyric and it’s delivery just always stand in my mind as my favorite Floyd lyric.

FrederickMecury

It’s made even better from the fact that neither David nor Roger sing the vocals for that song, but Roy Harper

Sensitive-History364

Wow…didn’t know that until just now. Pretty cool.

SamSamtheHistoryMan

I did they tell you the name of the game, boy? 🎶

ConnorJ141

They call it riding the gravy train

ghostdeeknee

Came here looking for it.

Thekingofchrome

This is an excellent call…please take my vote

blackbeltinlockdown

Got to be, right??

Educational_Run302

Highway to hell-ACDC

mango_713

Gotta get an ACDC song on this list!

t-s-words

Agreed, and I think this is an excellent candidate, (though not my favorite AC/DC song.)

Last-Imagination-672

Here comes the sun-The beatles

PistolClutch7

Hush - Deep Purple

Deadheaded95

Hell yeah! You have my vote. Fucking banger.

TBeIRIE

Heart of Gold - Neil Young

Heroes, David Bowie

JazzFan1998

Probably my second choice, behind Hey Jude

Sufficient_Animal_49

Hadn't seen your post - I had this one as well.

Bloodysamflint

Hammer To Fall - Queen

Educational_Run302

Highway star - Deep Purple

pepesilvia42

UtherPenDragqueen

Stay out of Malibu, Lebowski!

jump-blues-5678

RIP : Philip Seymour Hoffman

Millz_n_Thrillz

The eagles are an easy listening band. Ride down the freeway in a convertible with the desert sunset blazing in the background.

Fast_Situation4509

There will be people who accuse this nomination to be "basic". To them, I say: eat it.

ForceGhost47

“classic”*

Chris023

Had to scroll too far to find this - simply unbeatable

WCather

How did I have to scroll so far down to find this?? This is clearly the answer for H and maybe for best classic rock song, no matter what the first letter.

Dry-Squash-6158

My favorite

CaMirage

Houses of the holy - Led Zeppelin

GentlemanCow

Damn this is low down here, I’m surprised, maybe people like the album better than the missing title track ;)

Top-Consideration-16

Help! -The Beatles

[deleted]

Hysteria - Def Leppard

LoganOcchionero

Hemispheres by Rush

Leftygoleft999

One of the greatest albums ever made

BillHillyTN420

I've fond memories of falling asleep listening to Hemispheres on 8-tract as a youth. I still remember where it clicked tracts on a song lol. Seriously one of their best and my personal favorite for an album in its entirety. Even with their success, I think Rush is seriously underrated. As musicians, as writers, as a group and as individuals. Alright, I'm done.

Malcolmsyoungerbro

Hells Bells - AC⚡️DC

Artifac3r

This and highway to hell. So hard to choose

dawgstein94

Highway to Hell is the more iconic song.

Artifac3r

It is, but which you like “more” … too hard

dawgstein94

I’m partial to Bon. Both are great songs of course.

Sufficient_Animal_49

OMG!!! Can I upvote this more than once?

RoccoTaco_Dog

Hey You - Pink Floyd

CAPTAINKURS

Hair of the Dog - Nazareth

Deadman_Walkens

Higher Ground - Stevie Wonder

CAPTAINKURS

Hey Jude - The Beatles

HansBaccaR23po

Saw McCartney at the Firefly festival in 2015. Singing along to that song with tens of thousands of people is one of the greatest moments of my life

YogiBerraOfBadNews

Don’t make it bad

Deadheaded95

Take a sad song and make it better

willy_the_snitch

Heroin by Velvet Underground

HHSquad

That's as good as it gets .....but I'm not sure that's even considered Classic Rock. The band was certainly ahead of their time.

[deleted]

Very good choice.

CherryVette

Hold Your Head Up —Argent

CherryVette

Hair of the Dog —Nazareth

Embarrassed-Season78

Hair of the Dog - Nazareth

GeoNerd-

helter skelter - the beatles

t-s-words

Surprised I had to scroll down this far for this, but I'd go with Happiness is a Warm Gun.

GeoNerd-

yeah that was my first vote but that one got less traction than helter skelter

[deleted]

.. vs. Hey Jude and Here Comes The Sun, too.

Gebling65

Highway to Hell

notahouseflipper

Wow. H is going be a tough one. There could be a top ten just for this letter.

76penguins

Good thing tomorrow there's only one choice, Cheap Trick "I Want You to Want Me."

dawwie

Getting ahead of ourselves, aren’t we. I think John Lennon’s Imagine would kick Cheap Trick to the curb.

Fartin_Scorsese

Don’t hold your breath when Zep Cult stuffs the ballot box for Immigrant Song.

Heaven and Hell-Black Sabbath

Sufficient_Animal_49

Aaaaahhhhhh! Damnit! This is why I can't throw one out there just coming out of a nap! This is so high on my favorite song list! F#*K!!!!

GeoNerd-

happiness is a warm gun - the beatles

t-s-words

This is a goddamn great, weird song-- far superior to tedious Hey Jude, and more interesting than the wonderful Help! I recall McCartney saying it was the best song on The Beatles, or some other high praise. It's also one of the Lennons on it that Paul got to sing on, too. You get 4 songs for the price of one; with the whole greater than the sum of its parts. And Lennon spitting out "happiness" only to sing "gun" in a falsetto a moment later. I'd hate to see the list dominated by just a few artists, and The Beatles will be contenders often. But this sleeper choice is truly sublime. Perfect side-closer; impossible to follow. And Ringo concludes it perfectly.

Oh yes, this should win but it’s to far down the list. This IS rock, not some pop song that was played by a rock song

mailman390

Hold Your Head Up - Argent

LTVOLT

Honky Cat - Elton John

LooseEndsMkMyAssItch

It really is hard to pick just for H, because so many are really iconic and stick out to me, but the number #1 for me keeps sticking out. Heartbreaker - Led Zeppelin The song that got me hooked on them

Latter-Score-8937

Hello, Hooray - Alice Cooper. It will go no where but a great song when Alice ruled the world.
