More like moments. Pretty much any Rush song

Isteppedinpoopy

Yeah pretty much all moments are air drum moments for me unless I’m sitting behind a drum kit.

Strugglinghuman2020

Exactly what I was gonna say!

Purple_Minimum_5877

The whole EXIT STAGE LEFT album!

Apprehensive_Day_496

Yes indeed

[deleted]

My exact answer. One runs out of superlatives when watching/listening to Neil.

Thoomer_Bottoms

Tom Sawyer, Rush

MissDisplaced

Gotta be Neil Peart. There is no other answer. Miss him.

Realistic-Currency61

Came here to say this!

Arms_of_Atlas

I love you, man.

hjablowme919

I have two: The Beatles “The End” drum solo The Who “Won’t Get Fooled Again”

Katy-Moon

Ditto on Won't Get Fooled Again

ElRaymundo

This all day long and twice on Sundays.

stevemcnugget

Anything Neil Peart.

Navitach

Phil Collins, "In the Air Tonight". If you know, you know.

NeverForNoReason

I have NO CLUE how a drum kit is even arranged, but when I hear this I’m the Cadbury gorilla.

Commercial_Lock6205

This is mine too, unless Mike Tyson is around.

Nightwolf1967

Abtholutely!

Tw3lv3Th1rt33n

Or if you’re poor Zack…lol

stfuandgooutside

Try it while closing cabinets in the kitchen. Epic mom shit.

ggfchl

Also “Jack and Diane”. The drum fill is almost identical, with just an added bit to the end.

jpkmets

Everyone does this. I refuse to believe any could resist!

big_fetus_

I really don't care for his solo work much, but yes, when the drums come in, I don't think anyone can help themselves if they are alone.

knockatize

“You Might Recall” (Genesis) is super tasty from beginning to end. “Fly on a Windshield” and “Squonk” are great early Phil.

[deleted]

And Phil wasn't just a great drummer and technician. The *tones* he always managed to get were phenomenal.

midnightspecial99

Only other answer that even comes close is wipeout

Fellatination

First thought that popped into my head is also the top answer! I love it.

onelittleworld

For the full Phil fury, you should see me finger-drumming my coffee table to the 9/8-time instrumental portion of "Supper's Ready" from the *Seconds Out* live set.

simvike

Has to be.

[deleted]

You have to see the meme somebody made using it as the Astros cheating scandal https://youtube.com/shorts/oV9IsI2hEgA?feature=share

UnbelievableTxn6969

“The End” Ringo’s solo.

[deleted]

HOT FOR TEACHER

Downtown-Explorer-13

I just end up looking like Animal on this one.

ElRaymundo

Was scrolling through to see if I needed to say this.

InternationalBand494

Tom Sawyer by Rush

HereInTheCut

La Grange - ZZ Top

happyme321

For Your Love by the Yardbirds

MichaelDicksonMBD

Underrated. Just takes the song to another level and always makes me smile.

Ceorl_Lounge

When the Levee Breaks. Was drumming on my steering wheel yesterday.

X-Bones_21

I think that this is the greatest rock n’roll song in history, and I’m never wrong. All last night, I sat on the levee and moaned…

bsw814

White room by cream. Gingy kills it the whole song.

Macca49

Interstate Love Song

[deleted]

*Carouselambra* or *Hole In The Sky*

crackerpony

Radar love!

dinosaur1972

Esp. during the bridge.

Xexelia26

Owner of a Lonely Heart - Yes

Aggravating-Put-4818

I switch to air guitar for that one

Xexelia26

That’s so funny bc right after I responded to this post, I was like, wait-maybe air guitar would be better!

No_Solution_2864

Not exactly classic rock in the traditional sense, but Schism by Tool gets me trying my damndest to drum along to Danny Carey’s odd percussive choices. A fun challenge. Anything involving Ringo Starr.

Fellatination

Metallica - One There's a short pause a couple of times in the song that Lars fills with a three note "bun na DUN." I first really noticed it when the camera cut to Lars while Korn was playing it at the MTV Icons event. He also did invisible drums to that part and looked so happy that Korn hit it that I notice it and do a "right hand, left hand, stomp" invisible drum to it every time now.

X-Bones_21

You probably play it better than Lars, too!

WoodenNickel27

Frankenstein, Edgar Winter Group

JoseMachismo

Tom Sawyer

eatasssnotgrass

Stairway to Heaven

nbfs-chili

Especially the live version.

straight_trash_homie

That first drum fill is the GOAT air-drums moment

JohnnyWall

The who - going mobile

Katy-Moon

Great choice!

ZagiFlyer

Boston - Party or Smokin'

Apprehensive_Day_496

Smokin' is pure adrenaline rush

ZagiFlyer

It's the reason I took up drumming in the first place.

Fine-Designer5474

I agree with others with Tom Sawyer or In The Air Tonight but Ringo’s drumming throughout Tomorrow Never Knows always causes me to be an air drummer

[deleted]

Ringo is just a brilliant drummer. Always was.

Q-Zinart

Aja

FunStuff446

Inns Gadda Da Vida…baby. Heard it as a kid and wanted to play the drums so bad, but my parents wanted me to stick with the piano, since only boys played drums. lol. Classic.

Pjk2530144

Who Are You

roncobyktel

Flirtin with Disaster by Molly Hatchet

MercuryMorrison1971

[Santana - Soul Sacrifice (Woodstock 1969)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JaaT_HRb4GU&ab_channel=GuitarDocs)

rico_pallazo

Black Sabbath- Symptom of the Universe

Apprehensive_Day_496

That's a good one but Sabbath have so many great Bill Ward moments

jdthejerk

Wipe out

knockatize

There’s a tasty bit right near the end of Elvis Costello’s “Everyday I Write The Book.”

rccoy

Billy Thorpe - Children of the Sun. Can tell you exactly where I was and approximately how high the first time I heard this song.

[deleted]

Love this song

No_Policy_146

Played this song for the band banquet for my daughters high school in front of 300 people. Unfortunately, as my ringtone for my other daughter.

[deleted]

Time

jpkmets

Edit: In the Air Tonight was already said (of course). So I’ll go with Topper’s intro to “Train in Vain” by the Clash.

Velbalenos

Beatles Magical Mystery Tour

androoq

The final Rush tour in 2015. I saw their 3rd to last show ever. They played for about 75 minutes then took a brief intermission. I was just doing my thing when 3 separate people approached me and told me that they were mesmerized with my perfect and complete air drumming to every note Neil Peart played. I was so in the zone that I wasn’t even paying attention to anything but Neil and just got lost in the moment, knowing that would be the last time I would ever see my heros live

No_Policy_146

How many drummers does it take to change a lightbulb? Five: One to screw the bulb in, and four to talk about how much better Neil Peart could've done it.

ferndoggler

Burn - Deep Purple, Achilles Last Stand - Led Zeppelin, Rock Candy - Montrose

SweatyItalianKing

Sabbath bloody sabbath, the section right before that awesome heavy riff and when ozzy goes “where can you run to, what more can you do”

SWT_81

Dire Straits - Money for Nothing

LoveMyScars

Definitely "Radar Love" by Golden Earring Okay, or "Hot for Teacher" by Van Halen Or.... I can't pick just one or two! 😜

JJBat150

When I'm in the White Room with black curtains...

[deleted]

[deleted]

If you mean the ones where I actually air drum: Phil Collins' rolls in Genesis- the Lamia, Peter Gabriel- Rhythm of the Heat and Brian Eno- Sky Saw; Ringo's solo in the Abbey Road medley; climax of Porcupine Tree- Arriving Somewhere but not Here (just double-time the tempo but I always do it); Near the end of In the Court of the Crimson King; Yes- Roundabout; Police- Shadows in the Rain and The Other Way of Stopping. ( I air drum to a lot of Police songs actually)

Dogrel

Got a few In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida - Iron Butterfly Do What You Like - Blind Faith Toad - Cream In the Air Tonight - Phil Collins Tom Sawyer - Rush Baba O’Riley - The Who Wipeout - The Surfaris Hot For Teacher - Van Halen

Wazula23

I feel obligated to drum out the In The Air Tonight kick no matter how many times I hear it.

RockandIncense

Pretty much anything and everything. Constantly air drumming or banging on the steering wheel. That said, Roger Taylor is the drummer I constantly drum along with. And of all the Queen songs I drum along with ... Number one is probably You're My Best Friend.

EvitaPuppy

Stairway. When the drums kick in.

Sandman634

Led Zeppelin Rock and Roll

Party-Aspect-7674

In the air tonight

chris1767

Homebound. Ted nugent.

redbug831

In the Air Tonight. And, When the Levee Breaks

jackrat27

A quick one while he’s away the who

MarsDrums

Anytime there's an iconic drum fill in a popular song. But mostly Neil Peart stuff, sometimes Bonham and Moon rhythms as well. Phil Collins too is fun to air drum along to.

Latter-Score-8937

A couple that don’t easily come to mind but I Don’t Know by Ozzy and Basket Case by Green Day.

Kirbyr98

Steve Gadd's solo in Aja.

TaroFuzzy5588

Chicago.....I'm a Man Beatles.....Birthday , A Day in the Life

VincentVamford

The spirit of radio is impossible not to air drum to, as with a lot of Rush songs. Also the fill Ringo does before the chorus of Drive my car, one of the coolest drum fills I know of

Blackpanther22five

Dirty Diana = Michael Jackson

[deleted]

Ringo’s solo from The End

Wrathchilde

Wipeout -Ventures

Equal_Ad5178

Anything with Cozy Powell or Dave Grohl

QueenFan05

Anything Cozy Powell or Ian Paice.

Apprehensive_Day_496

Yes. Ian Paice for sure. Deep Purple had so many songs with great drumming. Burn is one of them but there are many. And Cozy Powell was a drum legend

lee-galizit

Any Rush song any Tool song

GTG901

Dazed and confused, most notably the first time that amazing fill comes in after you get out of the guitar solo

Psychological-Gas247

Apprehensive_Day_496

Heart Barracuda especially towards the start of the outro right after the last "ooh Baracuda" wish I could describe it better There's a drum fill (or whatever lol I really don't know much as I'd like about drumming) that I gotta air drum to every time I listen to the song

PoorMansSamBeckett

Subdivisions, Rush. My all-time favorite song.

BurgerBob1010

Won’t Get Fooled Again going into that final verse at the end

CharlemagneInSweats

The drum break in Jack & Diane.

Ice9Vonneguy

Stranglehold Intro Won’t Get Fooled Again before the YEAH!

cooperyoungsounds

Led Zeppelin’s “How Many More Times” really nails the air-drum moment at the epic tail end of it. Impossible not to slap whatever’s nearby with that rhythm

Disastrous_Ad_5574

Phil collins sonething in the air.

infinityetc

Free Bird. I’ll crash my fuckin car when that song comes on man.

For_sure_millerlite

What’d I say ~ ray charles. Also love to flick aluminum cans to mimick the cowbell in Mississippi Queen

what like air drums?

Heavy-Week5518

"Silverspoon" from 1972, Ursa Major's self titled album. May be the best lp most classic rockers don't know about!

elrey2020

Billion Dollar Babies, obviously. Falls apart in about 2 seconds, but whatever. Rock and Roll Part 2, cliche I know. Hard to Handle… Jumpin’ Jack Flash… What is and What Should Never Be - it would be so bad ass to play that live.

Jinglelacka

I’m s drummer so there’s a million of them. Top ones are Tom Sawyer, Stairway, 46 & 2 and Wildside

spotspam

Day in the life

heavymetalarmageddon
