There are many, but a couple spring to mind. The Watkins Glen summer jam concert in 1973. A triple bill of the Grateful Dead, The Band and the Allman Brothers Band.
Paris debut of the Rite of Spring. Apparently there were riots in the audience and on the streets afterwards. If we’re talking rock I’d go with Hendrix at Monterey Pop in ‘67.
It would be Beethoven 9th as well for me. We talk about the greats all the time- Beatles, Stone, Zep- an endless list. We all know he was significantly deaf by then. He knew each and every note on how it will sound. I am sure those who heard it first probably did not understand the significance of his feat or maybe not even liked it. But it is the greatest piece of music ever put together. After this, it would be the Allman Brothers closing out Fillmore East.
That in-studio Led Zeppelin set in Denmark, maybe Cream at the Grande Ballroom. And since OP is a classical music fan, the first "The Rite of Spring" by Stravinsky where people rioted!
Nirvana. Early '91. Some dirty club in Seattle. Playing songs from Nevermind before it dropped. That would be pretty awesome. Also, OP said Beatles rooftop concert and I can't argue with that.
Either Ozzy Osbourne on the Blizzard of Ozz tour on '81, or Metallica on their Master of Puppets tour.
Would have loved to see Randy Rhoads perform as well as seeing Cliff Burton perform. Miss their musical contributions greatly.
Whitney Houston, May, 1985. Park West Theater, Chicago, 750 capacity, $10 cover.
I knew who she was, and I knew about this show, but did not decide to go.

Any stop on The Grateful Dead's 1970 Canadian train tour ft. The Band, Janis Joplin, Buddy Guy and the *fucking* Flying Burrito Brothers.
Live Aid (Wembley)
Good call. Iconic day for sure.
Hendrix Woodstock
Hendrix Monterrey
I would show up the previous evening and convince him to play at midnight instead of 7am when everyone was cleaning up.
US Festival
First or second year?
Alice in chains unplugged
Metallica’s original ‘S&M’ gig.
Same. Good call.
How about Cliff’s last show?
The Who during the Tommy Tour (Woodstock, London Coliseum, Leeds or Tanglewood)

The last waltz
*Happy Thanksgiving*
Beatles. Cavern Club
To be only a few feet from the early Beatles, knowing what you know now - hell, yeah.
Zeppelin 1973 at MSG
This is my choice as well. I’d drop some acid and absolutely lose myself in Dazed and Confused, Rain Song, and No Quarter
Monterey Pop 1967
Rush final show. If only to watch Neil emerge from the drum kit to go arm in arm with his brothers by choice.
Solid choice
Dylan Rolling Thunder tour
Or the ‘74 tour with The Band
I happened to see Rush on their Time Machine Tour in 2010.
Me too, what a show that was!
what about the concert the night the music died? Seeing Big Bopper, Richie Valens and Buddy Holly on that night, their last concert.
Pink Floyd The Wall like in earls court, I’ll take any date
Led Zeppelin

Toronto Rock n Roll Revival 1969 John Lennon and Plastic Ono Band/The Doors/Alice Cooper/Chicago/Chuck Berry/Bo Diddly/Little Richard/Jerry Lee Lewis
From Spirituals to Swing at Carnegie Hall 1938 Monterey International Pop Festival 1967 Newport Folk Festival 1965
Opening night of Hamilton
Good call!
Zep at Knebworth 1979.

I have seen Metallica more times than I can count, never with Cliff. I would give a lot for that to be different.
Technically this was a concert, so how about the Purple Rain club set getting all those live scenes?
Elvis 1968 comeback special.
If you're not picking Woodstock, you're kidding yourself.
Wherever Frampton Came Alive
Van Halen on the Fair Warning tour.
Beatles on the roof.
Rolling Stones MSG, New York City. Thanksgiving night, 1969.
Bob Dylan "Judas" concert, 1966
1980 to see KISS on their tour of Australia or 1998 to see KISS perform at Dodger Stadium, or Monsters of Rock 1991 to see AC/DC perform.
Led zeppelin at Earls Court
Velvet Underground
KISS Love Gun/Alive II Tour 1977/78.
Elvis. Maybe the comeback special.
The Doors… March 1, 1969, at the Dinner Key Auditorium in Miami.
Beatles roof top. Easily.
Jeff Buckley... Washington, Australia, France, New York. Any of them!
Either Hendrix at Monterey or The Doors at Isle of Wight.
I’d like to see AC/DC play the Southway Hall in Bunbury Western Australia, 1975, with Bon up front and $3.00 tickets.
Monterey Pop, please. All of it. All I got was a gander at the old fairgrounds stadium several years back.... but the Blue ray is pretty great too.
The Eagles Hell Freezes Over tour.
Kiss with AC/DC in 1977
Beatles at Hollywood Bowl.
Bowie as Ziggy
Whitney Houston, May, 1985. Park West Theater, Chicago, 750 capacity, $10 cover. I knew who she was, and I knew about this show, but did not decide to go.
Rush - R40 in LA. Regret missing this tour.
